AFTERWORD

For those of you who have been keeping up since the first book, it’s good to see you again.

For those of you who read all twenty books at once, it’s a pleasure to meet you.

I’m Kazuma Kamachi.

The twentieth book at last! And it’s the conclusion of the British royal family arc!! Which means this afterword will be about what happened in Volumes 17 and 18! How did you like the story revolving around the legendary British sword, the Curtana? With a certain mercenary’s appearance in Volume 17, I made the term knight stand out, but in Volume 18, I used the Curtana to bring the queen to the forefront. By the way, this Curtana is a sword that actually exists, so it’s worth checking out. It’s actually still used today for crowning the head of state and stuff.

Elizard, the queen of this story, is my personal ideal ruler. Basically, she’s a perfect queen equipped with all the strong points of the first princess, Limeia; the second princess, Carissa; and the third princess, Vilian. The queen herself complains in the book that her daughters are all so extreme, but that’s something she can say because she has a good balance of all three. There might have been a very strong image of storybooks and fairy tales for the princess team under her. Especially the healthy third princess, Vilian, bullied by her big sisters—she’s an archetypical storybook heroine.

Aside from the royal family, some of Sylvia’s settings peek through—she appeared in the second short-story volume—and a certain sorcerer’s society boss who has been active in a magazine called Dengeki Bunko Magazine also slipped in there. If you have the time, please check those out as well.

I’d like to thank my illustrator, Mr. Haimura, and my editor, Mr. Miki. I’m sure it was difficult reading through nothing but troublesome battle scenes, but really, thank you so much.

And I’d like to thank all my readers. The protagonist Touma Kamijou was able to walk this massive path laid before him only because of your encouragement. I look forward to your support in the future.

Well then, as you close the page here for the moment,

And as I pray that you open a new page next time,

For now, I lay down my pen.

How many kinds of strange maid outfits exist in this world anyway?
