Volume 5, Chapter 10 – Immigration Inspection
After finishing our stay at Yukawa Onsen and buying up a massive amount of seafood, we traveled by sea from Misaki to Sakimori, and then transferred ships to return to Nanhai, the gateway into the Red Sky Empire.
“Ahhh, land. No shaking. No more shaking!”
Chris-san, who had been in a state of “groggy & Merlion” due to seasickness as usual, was firmly planting her feet on the ground as if to confirm it was actually there.
“Chris-san, you should just become a Fisher like me!”
Lu-chan said this with a smug look on her face, but she actually had a point.
During our round trip to the Far North, Lu-chan had been “feeding the fish” together with Chris-san and Liera-san, but ever since she acquired the Fisher Sub-Class, her seasickness symptoms had diminished surprisingly.
She still looked a bit strained, and there were times when the seas were rough and she ended up feeding the fish alongside Chris-san, but it seemed far easier than before.
I hadn’t checked her Skills when we showed them to each other at the hot springs, but if she’d only just started the job, it was likely Level 1.
The fact that it made such a huge difference shows just how powerful the Seasickness Resistance Skill is.
“Next person, please.”
It seemed our turn for immigration control had arrived. I say “control,” but it’s so lax that it’s practically non-existent.
“Yes.”

We stepped up before the officer.
“I am Fiene Argentata of the White Moon Kingdom. Following me are Christina, Lumia, and Mieshiro Shizuku. We intend to head toward Novarbour during our travels.”
The moment I said that, the officer’s eyes widened, and his expression stiffened in an instant.
With that same rigid face, he told us mechanically:
“Would you please come with me to a separate room?”
“Eh…?”
Huh? Did we do something wrong?
“This way.”
We were led further inside.
The room we were shown into had decent furnishings, but it was clearly a place designed to lock people up.
The windows wouldn’t open, and the entrance door was the type that locked from the outside.
“Please wait here for a while. The person in charge will be with you shortly.”

“…I would like to ask the reason why we are being treated this way. Depending on the reason, this could become a diplomatic incident.”
“I have not been given the authority to explain that. The person in charge is coming, so please wait here.”
“What!?”
“Whoa, Chris-san, stop. For now, let’s just wait for whoever’s in charge to arrive.”
Seeing a menacing aura begin to overflow from Chris-san, I hurriedly stopped her.
“…Yes. Understood. Fiene-sama.”
“I appreciate your understanding.”
With that, the male officer left the room. Apparently, the door hadn’t been locked after all.
“Hmm, I wonder what’s going on? I don’t recall doing anything bad…”
“I have not either.”
“Ehh, this is a pain, let’s just escape!”
“If you do that, you won’t be able to eat food in this country, you know?”
Rеaⅾ οո KαtRеаԁіոɡCаfе
“Ugh. Fine.”
As we were chatting, we heard the sound of footsteps running toward us.
Then, there was a knock on the door, and a pair—a man around forty and an incredibly beautiful woman—entered.
“I am terribly sorry to have kept you waiting, Saint-sama. I am Xue Xie, the Director of the Red Sky Empire Nanhai Port Immigration Control Office. This is Diao Yihua, the court lady entrusted with your guidance.”
“Saint-sama, I am Diao Yihua. By the decree of His Majesty the Emperor, I have been entrusted with the important duty of escorting you to the Imperial Capital, Yan’an.”
Ueeh, I don’t really get what’s happening, but is this turning into something troublesome?
“I am Fiene Argentata. Thank you for welcoming us.”
It seemed that, unfortunately, our freedom of movement in this country had been taken away.
When I was chasing Shizuku-san, I was too panicked to have any room for sightseeing, so I had hoped to actually do some sightseeing this time.
Ah, I said “also” sightseeing. The main goal is finding Lu-chan’s sister, okay?
“Saint-sama, a room of this caliber may not have been comfortable enough for you, but it is the finest room we can provide at this facility.
I believe we have caused you inconvenience, but I humbly ask for your forgiveness.”
Rеad οո ΚatRеaⅾiոɡСаfе
“No, it is no problem. I appreciate your consideration.”
“Oh! Such generosity! Thank you!”
Xue Xie-san looked deeply moved.
“Now, I shall escort you to the lodging where you will stay tonight.”
With that, Diao Yihua-san began to guide us.
“Well, we’ll take you up on that offer then.”
It’s a shame I can’t wander around and sightsee freely, but I planned on passing through the Imperial Capital anyway.
I’ll think positively and just be glad I don’t have to pay for travel expenses.
After leaving the building, we climbed into an incredibly luxurious carriage.
The interior was decorated in a unified palette of pale colors, so this carriage was likely meant for women of high status.
Swaying in the carriage, we gazed at the scenery of the town of Nanhai.
