Volume 1, Chapter 1 – Debut
“Huh?”
When I opened my eyes, I was in ruins.
This wasn’t just a building—it was an entire town reduced to ruins.
I looked around, but no matter where I looked, it was nothing but ruins.
For now, I should check my status.
Uh… how do I do that?
Actually, why isn’t there a tutorial?
Wait, come to think of it—wasn’t AnnyOn supposed to let you choose a starting town?
Since when was “starting in ruins” a thing!?
And I even made sure to set my Demon Lord class to “Unemployed.”
I tried a bunch of things, but still couldn’t open my status. I even shouted “Status Open” at the top of my lungs.

That was a little embarrassing, but at least no one was around to see it.
Alright, first things first—I should check my appearance.
Stuff like speech style matters for character building, after all.
As I wandered through the ruins, I just so happened to find a broken hand mirror lying on the ground, so I used one of the shards to take a look.
…
…
…
Whoa… I kinda got lost staring at myself.
My hair’s a silvery-white, semi-long cut, and my eyes are red.
I’m an absurdly beautiful girl—pure white skin, slightly pointed ears.
The corners of my eyes droop slightly, giving me a very gentle look.

Yeah, figures, considering I gave myself the Unique Skill Beautiful Looks (though calling this a “skill” is honestly questionable).
If I passed by like this in the real world, ninety-nine out of a hundred people would definitely turn to look.
Age-wise, I look about middle school age.
It feels like I’m right in the middle of growing from a girl into a woman.
My chest has started to swell a bit, and overall, my body’s starting to take on a more feminine roundness.
Yeah… this has serious potential.
Well, I don’t even know if you can grow in the world of AnnyOn, though.
I’d really like to see my whole body in a full-length mirror.
So, what should I do about my speech style?
With this face, going with a rough, arrogant “ore-sama” character would be a total letdown. 1 Ore-sama (俺様) is a highly arrogant and self-important Japanese first-person pronoun meaning “my esteemed self” or “I” (pompous). It combines the informal male “I” (ore) with the high-respect honorific -sama, resulting in a self-centered tone often used by narcissistic anime characters, villains, or to express extreme, comical conceit.
For now, I’ll go with a cool character who speaks politely.

If it gets annoying, I can just drop it and go back to normal—no big deal.
Anyway, the biggest problem right now is how to get to a town.
Right now, I’m wearing what’s probably my starting gear—a simple one-piece dress and sandals, which is completely out of place in a ruin like this.
It suits this avatar perfectly, but starting gear still feels unreliable, so I should head to a town and get proper equipment.
With that in mind, I decided to explore this ruin first and look for an exit.
So I walked around looking for a way out, but this place is seriously huge… and there’s absolutely nothing here.
Before long, the sun had already started to set.
—Guess I’ll just log out for now and check the wiki or something.
…or so I thought, until I ran into a huge problem.
Yeah—I have no idea how to log out.
No matter how many times I say “Menu Open,” nothing shows up.
Rеаԁ οո ΚαtReadiոgСаfе
Wait, wait, wait—hold on. “Menu Open” is universal across all VRMMOs, right? Don’t tell me I’m stuck in the game?
Actually, doesn’t AnnyOn have a forced logout after a certain amount of time?
Oh, right, that’s usually only when you’re inside a town.
If you got forcibly logged out mid-combat, the Devs would get flooded with complaints.
—Well, whatever. For now, let’s find a place to spend the night.
I remember from a gameplay video that in AnnyOn, more dangerous monsters come out at night than during the day, so you have to be careful.
Unfortunately, there were no buildings here with roofs still intact, nor any places to hide.
In that case, hiding in a thicket or inside a hollow tree is probably the better option.
So, I left the ruins behind and headed into the forest.
And just like that, my first day in AnnyOn began with a turbulent start.
