Volume 7, Chapter 6 – Sara the Fortune Teller
“Saint-sama, thanks to you, I’m feeling much better now. Thank you very much!”
Sara-san said this with a smile, all while flexing her muscles.
Does she really think flexing and twitching those muscles is proper etiquette?
“Y-yes. I’m glad to hear that.”
I managed to respond, though I’m pretty sure my expression had stiffened.
“And above all, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be under your protection, Saint-sama.”
And there she goes again, twitching those muscles.
“Right…”
“As a token of my gratitude—though it’s a modest offering—I am quite skilled at fortune-telling. Since we are here, allow me to divine your future.”
“Uh, thank you…?”
Fortune-telling with those muscles? I wonder if “Muscle Divination” is actually a thing.
“Now then, I shall immediately divine Saint-sama’s future.”
With that, Sara-san pulled a crystal ball from her clothes. Apparently, the divination itself is normal.
She held both hands over the crystal and closed her eyes.
“…I see it. Saint-sama, you were born under a great destiny. And within you, you harbor a great light… Eh? You do… but… at the same time, you also harbor a small darkness that will one day grow into a great darkness.”

I really wish she’d stop saying “Eh?” while she’s divining; it makes me anxious.
Besides, since I’m a Vampire, I figure it makes sense that I harbor darkness.
But when did I ever start harboring light?
“Around Saint-sama are many lights drawn to you. They are very small lights, but some of them will eventually become great lights and walk beside you.”
I wonder what that means. I hope it refers to Chris-san, Lu-chan, Shizuku-san, and Riche.
“However, at the same time, a colossal darkness seeks you. Should you be swallowed by that darkness, it will become a great calamity and consume the world.”
What is this “darkness” referring to? I haven’t the slightest clue.
I don’t know what she’s talking about, but if I were swallowed by my blood-drinking urge, things would definitely end badly, so I’ll at least be careful about that.
“Saint-sama, you will face a great trial in the future. At that time, the key to overcoming it will be to maintain a righteous heart.”
With that, Sara-san finished the reading. She was absolutely drenched in sweat. I hope she’s alright.
“Um, thank you. A righteous heart, right. I’m not entirely sure what that means, but I’ll do my best.”
When I answered, Sara-san gave a beaming smile and twitched her muscles.
No, really—if it weren’t for that, she’d seem like a perfectly convincing fortune-teller.
“It’s not fair that only Onee-sama gets one! I want my fortune told too!”

Lu-chan, who had been watching from the side the whole time, eagerly cut in.
“Yes, that’s fine. What would you like to know?”
“Yes! Um, well, the location of my little sister…”
“Ah, I see. Understood. Leave it to me.”
Sara-san once again held her hands over the crystal and closed her eyes.
“…I see it. Lumia-sama, your path and your sister’s path will eventually cross. However, that is not now. Supporting Saint-sama by her side will be the shortest path to that goal.”
Sara-san finished the reading and opened her eyes.
“…Yes. That’s right! Yes!”
“Lu-chan, that’s wonderful.”
“Yes! Onee-sama! I’ll do my best!”
Lu-chan must have been anxious too. But if a reading can make someone feel more positive like this, I think fortune-telling is a good thing.
“Why don’t you ask Shizuku-san and Chris-san as well?”
“Then I shall also make a request. I wish to clash with the strong; will such an opportunity arise in Yellow Planet?”
Shizuku-san is the same as ever.

“Leave it to me. …I see it. You will not find such an opponent in Yellow Planet. However, on the path Shizuku-sama walks, battles with many strong foes await. If you continue as you are, you will lose your life. By continuing your training without fail and fully drawing out your hidden power, a new path shall open.”
“A hidden power… I see. Sara-dono, I am grateful.”
“No, you’re very welcome.”
Wow, she really is a fortune-teller. That “hidden power” must be referring to the Black Fox from that time, right?
I’m amazed she can be so spot-on. Though, I’d prefer it if she didn’t mention losing one’s life.
“How about Chris-san?”
“Eh? No, I don’t particularly have anything I want divined…”
Chris-san tried to decline, but Sara-san’s expression suddenly became stern.
“Christina-sama, this is grave. Christina-sama, you have the omen of ‘Bird Calamity.’ Please, be very careful of birds.”
“Bird Calamity?”
Chris-san tilted her head in confusion.
“I wonder what ‘Bird Calamity’ is?”
“Haha, perhaps the birds will like her so much they’ll swarm all over her.”
“Ugh.”

Shizuku-san answered my question, but the mental image made me feel a bit sick.
I vaguely remember there being a really old horror movie in my previous world with something like that in it… or maybe not?

And then, the incident occurred just as we stepped out from the cabin onto the deck for a change of pace.
Splat.
Hm? What was that sound?
“Ah!”
Chris-san let out a scream.
When I turned around, Chris-san had a hand on her head. As she brought it down in front of her face, she began trembling.
In her hand…
“Ah—Chris-san, that’s gross! Please go wash it off quickly!”
There was a big glob of bird droppings!
Yeah…. The omen of Bird Calamity is truly terrifying.
