Volume 1, Chapter 5 – Vampire Noble Daughter?
And so it was that we passed through the forest, crossed the plains, and arrived at the town of Zarabia.
Then I was taken to a truly, ridiculously luxurious hotel.
“Fiene-sama. You must be exhausted from the long journey. This is the finest hotel in all of Zarabia. The Knight Order will cover all expenses, so please relax and make yourself comfortable. I shall come to fetch you tomorrow morning.”
With that, Chris-san went off somewhere. I was shown in by a hotel bellboy and led to an absurdly lavish room.
An absurdly large bedroom with an equally absurd bed, plus a plush sofa.
The toilet and bathroom were separate, and besides the bedroom, there was even a living room attached.
No matter how you looked at it, it was far too spacious for one person.
I’ve never stayed in one in the real world, but this is what they call a suite, right?
No, no, no.
There’s no way the reward for clearing the first event is this.
This is definitely the kind of thing that happens right before you get hit with some pretty serious request for the next event, isn’t it?
Did I… mess up?
Ah—was I not supposed to save everyone in that event?
Or rather, was letting Chris-san die actually the correct choice?
Still, letting her die would have felt pretty bad, and she’d probably still be wandering the forest…
Actually, I can’t even begin to think of Chris-san as an NPC.
Ugh, well… whatever happens, happens.

For now, I’ll just enjoy this VIP treatment to the fullest.

Before I knew it, it was morning.
Yesterday, I ate an absurdly fancy dinner and then took a bath for the first time in ages.
It was a Western-style bathroom, so you wash yourself in the bathtub, but even so, it felt genuinely good to soak after so long.
Yep, for a Japanese person, it’s all about the bath!
So, after getting out of the bath, I threw on the provided robe and dove into bed. And that brings us to now.
Still, there’s one thing I just can’t wrap my head around.
Why is my equipment—the one-piece dress—getting dirty and all wrinkled like this?
Normally, in a VRMMO, equipment should always look brand new.
Maybe AnnyOn is the type of game where equipment has durability or something like that?
But even so, having its appearance get all wrinkled? If paid cosmetic gear got dirty, there’d be riots, no question.
Oh, or maybe it’s the kind where you repair it with magic or something like that?
Ah, but I didn’t take any skills related to blacksmithing or alchemy.
That’s tough. Is there a chance Healing Magic could somehow fix it?
Alright, Healing Magic to make my wrinkled clothes good as new.

…
…
…
Yep, nothing happened.
Well, of course. So much for the ‘Healing Magic is omnipotent’ theory. Bummer.
Reluctantly, I put on my now-wrinkled starter one-piece dress and went to enjoy the breakfast buffet.
I could feel people’s eyes on me, which was kind of embarrassing.
I mean, if a stunningly beautiful girl in shabby clothes was eating breakfast alone at a luxury hotel like this, of course they’d stare.
I hurriedly finished breakfast and holed up back in my room.
Chris-san said she’d come to get me, so I’ll just behave until then.
It’s not like I have any money to do anything even if I went out anyway.
◇ ◇ ◇
How did it come to this?
Ah, I’ll tell you exactly what just happened.
I was waiting in my room for Chris-san, and before I knew it, I was dressed up like a princess.
I know you probably won’t understand what I’m saying, but…

Yes.
While I was waiting in the room, three maids who said they were sent by Chris-san showed up, and before I even knew what was happening, I was made to change clothes.
The end.
My, my, that was terrifying.
How should I put it… I was stripped bare before I could even resist.
Yeesh, AnnyOn, what a hassle.
Having to go through all this just to change equipment.
It’s probably not in my future, but those heavy-looking suits of armor the knights were wearing… can they put those on by themselves?
Now then.
After that, Chris-san, who had arrived, put me in another luxurious carriage, and it was there that I finally heard what was going on.
“Fiene-sama, you are to meet with the Lord. The dress you are currently wearing is the finest we were able to prepare. I do not know if it suits your tastes, but I ask for your understanding.”
“I—I see. Is that so? Personally, I would have been fine with my usual dress—”
“That will not do. Fiene-sama, you are a young lady from a noble family of a foreign land, are you not? Even if it is another country, we cannot allow the standing of the Argentata family to be slighted.”
“Huh?”
“Eh?”
“I’m not a noble, though?”

“Eh?”
“Why did you think I was a noble?”
“Eh, well, having a family name means you’re a noble, does it not…?”
I see. So that’s why she was using “-sama.”
“Even with a family name, I’m not a noble. So, my normal clothes would have been fine, but…”
“…My apologies.”
This muscle-brained kukkoro woman!
But just what kind of event is this?
I’m sure I’m progressing through the story right now, but originally I was about to be forced into being the Demon Lord, and then I forcibly made this weird character and barged into it.
And on top of that, I defeated that Demon Lord in the very first event.
Yeah, the story is definitely broken now. Maybe the story just skipped ahead to after the Demon Lord’s defeat or something?
Well, since I don’t even know what the story was supposed to be, thinking about it is pointless.
I’ll just go along and enjoy it for now.
Thinking such thoughts, I continued to be jostled along in the carriage.
—But when are they going to force a logout?
