Volume 2, Chapter 27 – The Voyage
“Saint-sama, may you have a pleasant voyage.”
“Thank you very much.”
Seen off by Elmden’s mayor, Danke-san, the guards, the girls we rescued, and many of the townspeople, our ship set sail for the Far North.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to obtain any information about Lu-chan’s sister in Elmden.
Liera-san had also been separated from her immediately after being captured, so she didn’t know where she had gone.
Furthermore, although there were reports that she had been transferred to Elmden, no information that matched her could be found at the Elmden branch of the Amistad Trading Company, and the search for Lu-chan’s sister hit a dead end.
Since we couldn’t just take the two of them on a journey without a destination, we decided to first head to the village of the Silver High Elves.
Well, another reason is that if I kept traveling with that queen, my wallet would undoubtedly melt in an instant.
Now, we’re staying as passengers on a merchant ship called the Mel Vierge.
The Mel Vierge is a large wooden sailing ship, probably around fifty meters long, with three massive masts.
The four of us are sharing a room on such a massive sailing ship, but we’re not in the room; we’re all out on deck.
Just like during our carriage journey, I keep enchanting pebbles with Purification Magic and tossing them into the sea.
However, the other three are all clinging to the railing, occasionally pulling a “Merlion” to feed the fish. 1 She means vomiting into the sea

“Is everyone alright?”
“””No… we’re not…”””
Seasickness is a terrifying thing. To think that those three, who are usually so energetic, would end up like this.
Well, it is rocking quite a bit, but there aren’t even whitecaps on the waves yet, so I’m worried about what’s ahead.
“Chris-san, so you have things you’re bad at besides ghosts.”
I obviously couldn’t say something like, And intellectual labor, too.
“I am terribly sorry. I didn’t expect it to be this bad.”
“But you were fine during the river crossing, weren’t you?”
“It hardly shook at all back then.”
“That’s right! Why are you okay, Onee-sama? It’s not fair!”
Well, even if you call it unfair, I’m not sure what you expect me to say. If I don’t get sick, I don’t get sick.
“I believe I’ve heard that looking at the distant scenery or having a pleasant conversation can make you feel a little better.”
“Ugh, even if you say that…”

Oh, this looks bad.
“””Bleeegh!”””
I understand they feel sick, but why have all three of them been “Merlion-ing” in perfect synchronization for a while now? Since when are they that close?!
Once the three of them finished their Merlion impression, Liera-san produced some water and they used it to rinse their mouths.
Apparently, she’s having a Water Spirit provide it, but I doubt the poor spirit ever imagined it’d end up being worked this hard just taking care of seasick people.
“How are you faring, Saint-sama and company?”
“Hello, Captain. I’m doing fine, but my three companions are in this state.”
“Hahaha, most people who aren’t used to sea travel end up like this. The wind is in our favor, so at this rate, we should reach the port of Silverfield in about three or four days. You’ll just have to endure until then.”
The captain laughed heartily as he said that, but the three of them all went pale at the words, “Three more days…”
I feel bad for them, but they’ll just have to get used to it.

And so, we welcomed the morning of the fourth day.
Breakfast consisted of salted meat, hard bread, and bean soup.

Since we’re on a ship, I suppose it’s unavoidable, but the menu is almost identical for every meal.
The only difference is whether the salted meat becomes salted fish.
I’m really starting to crave blood, but I can’t exactly ask a seasick Chris-san for some, so I’ll just have to endure for a while.
“There, there. It’s breakfast time. Please make sure to eat properly.”
I cast Seasickness Treatment Magic on the three pale-faced girls.
To be precise, I’m not exactly sure what kind of magic it is myself, but regardless, it’s a type of Healing Magic that cures seasickness.
The reason I call it that is because none of the books I read in the Royal Capital’s library mentioned a Healing Magic spell that could cure seasickness. But when I focused on the idea of “Heal seasickness with Healing Magic,” it somehow worked.
So, for the time being, I’m calling it Seasickness Treatment Magic, but this magic actually seems to be surprisingly advanced and is quite exhausting.
Also, it doesn’t seem to be completely foolproof; the effect only lasts for about thirty minutes.
Therefore, I only cast it before and after meals.
If I didn’t, I’d end up collapsing, and if they didn’t eat or drink, the three of them would probably pass out from malnutrition.
Since the magic’s duration is short, they eventually end up Merlion-ing and becoming fish food anyway, but even so, it should be better than not eating at all.
After finishing breakfast, I went up to the deck with the three of them, and we heard the loud shouts of the sailors.

“Land ho!”
“It’s the Far North!”
I rushed toward the bow. And there, far off on the horizon, I could see a faint outline of land!
“Is that… the Far North?”
“Fiene-sama, it’s finally here.”
Since the Seasickness Treatment Magic was still in effect, Chris-san was doing fine for the moment.
“Finally!”
Lu-chan, who had been suffering from seasickness, also looked delighted.
“Ahh, we’re finally going to be on land again, aren’t we? Once we reach port, I’m going to eat until I’m full~”
Liera-san, please stop. My wallet is melting already.
“Saint-sama, we will arrive in about an hour. Please prepare your luggage.”
And so, our first voyage came to a safe conclusion.
