Uh… I’ve gained way more EXP than when I defeated the Dark Dragon King’s Fragment?

Oh, right. That’s because I kinda genocided an entire town.

Sigh.

Now then, looking at the Unique Skills that can be raised regardless of class, there’s Lightning and Dimensional Storage.

Regarding class-related skills, there’s Healing Magic, Enchant, and Enchantment Appraisal.

As for storage, I’m not struggling with capacity, so I probably don’t need it for now.

I don’t intend to aim for Overdrive with Healing Magic, and even if I did, the EXP requirement is so absurd that spending Skill Points on it would barely make a dent.

I mean, if it really increases tenfold each time, just getting it to level 10 would require 1 trillion skill EXP.

If Overdrive requires ten times that, we’re talking 10 trillion. Since using SP only increases EXP by 1,000, I have zero motivation to put points into it.

With Enchant, I’ve been earning EXP efficiently just by enchanting pebbles. Thanks to the increased storage capacity allowing for a larger stock of pebbles, and my increased MP allowing me to enchant more per day, I’ve been averaging about 500 skill EXP daily.

At this rate, I should hit skill level 3 in a few months and become a Magic Apothecary, as promised to Shishou.

So, it’s not worth spending precious Skill Points on.

The same goes for Enchantment Appraisal.

Besides, I don’t really feel a need for this skill in the first place.

This skill lets you know how much of an enchantment can be placed on an object; it would be useful if I were opening a shop as an Enchanter, but since I have no intention of doing that, it’s unnecessary for now.

Which leaves… Lightning?

When I tried it before, no lightning fell.

Yes, it’s a mystery skill where, despite having “Lightning” in the name, no lightning actually strikes.

Hmm, I have nothing else to put points into, so let’s give it a try.

I spend 10 Skill Points to raise the level of 【Lightning】 to 2.

Alright. Now, let’s test it.

I open the window and confirm that there is no one passing by outside.

“Lightning, strike!”

…

…

…

As expected, nothing happened. That was a bit embarrassing.

Ugh, seriously! What is wrong with this skill?!

Isn’t this the kind of thing where, like, a bolt of lightning goes BOOM from the sky onto the target?

It was over a year ago, so I don’t remember clearly, but I really want to punch my past self for picking this nonsensical skill.

If I had just maxed out Dark-Attribute Magic back then, I wouldn’t be struggling like this!

Still, no use crying over spilled milk.

“Fiene-sama, what have you been doing for a while now?”

Chris-san looked at me with a worried expression, likely due to my extremely suspicious behavior.

“Ah, um, my level went up quite a bit from the Tukat incident, so I was allocating some Skill Points.”

“Congratulations on that. But why are you standing by the open window?”

Ah, true. From an outside perspective, my actions were completely incomprehensible.

“Actually, I have this weird skill called Lightning. I raised it to level 2, so I thought maybe I’d be able to call down lightning and decided to try it, but it didn’t work.”

“Lightning… is it?”

Chris-san also looked skeptical.

“I’ve never heard of such a skill. When I hear ‘lightning,’ the only thing that comes to mind is the legend of the Hero who fought with lightning wrapped around their Divine Sword. However, that is said to be the Hero’s unique magic. Apparently, it’s a magic that serves as a proof of the Hero, usable through the power of the Divine Sword bestowed upon them by the Gods.”

I see, so there’s something called a Divine Sword in addition to a Holy Sword.

Well, based on Chris-san’s fights so far, the Holy Sword kind of feels like it’s only good against small fry; maybe the Divine Sword is the one that’s actually powerful.

Still, “lightning magic as proof of the Hero” sounds like a setting I’ve heard in some famous RPG.

“Other than that, the only thing I can think of is the Lightning of Judgment sung of in myths.”

“Hmm, I see.”

“Fiene-sama, how did you obtain that skill?”

“I’ve had it from the start. Though it was only level 1.”

“I see. So it was a gift from the Gods. In that case, I’m sure there must be some meaning behind that skill.”

Nah, I just set it up randomly without thinking.

But I obviously can’t say that.

After all, that bald old guy is apparently the God of this world.

If people found out I stole that God’s tablet, messed around with it however I wanted, and even mouthed off to him, I feel like things could get pretty awkward.

“That… might be the case…”

I give a vague, evasive answer.

But, enveloping a sword in lightning, huh? That actually sounds plausible.

Wait a sec. Does that mean I can’t call down lightning, but maybe I can just send a little bit of electricity through something?

I expose my stomach and place both hands on it.

——Send the current through like a pulse.

Twitch… twitch.

Amazing! My abs are moving on their own. I did it! Now I can train my abs while doing housework!

Sigh. This is not what I imagined.

What am I supposed to do with this “this isn’t it” feeling?

As I stood there staring blankly at my stomach, Chris-san called out to me with a dubious look.

“Fiene-sama? What on earth are you doing in such an immodest state? Besides, you’ll catch a cold if you leave your stomach exposed like that.”

Snapping out of it, I hurriedly covered myself.

“No, I was just… in shock that I’ve become a piece of health equipment…”

“I’m sorry? Fiene-sama? What on earth are you talking about?”

“Here, Chris-san, please expose your stomach too.”

“Eh? I-I beg your pardon?”

I lift the clothes of the confused Chris-san to reveal her stomach.

Despite being a woman, faint abdominal muscles were visible beneath her healthy, toned stomach.

Then, I placed both hands on Chris-san’s stomach and sent a pulse of current.

Twitch… twitch.

“Wh-what? This… is this? My abs are moving on their own?”

“This is the power of the Lightning skill.”

Chris-san had a very complicated expression.

Well, I can’t blame her. At this point, both the “Lightning” and the “Strike” parts seem to have gone missing.

“With this power, we could do rehabilitation for bedridden people whose muscles have atrophied, or treat severe shoulder stiffness.”

“I-I see. To be able to use it for treatment… I think it’s a wonderful power, very fitting for Fiene-sama!”

She said it, but Chris-san’s expression remained indescribably awkward.

Hmm, I wonder if it’ll be useful for something if I raise the skill level by another 2 or 3?

However, I don’t have enough Skill Points for that.

In the end, I decided to leave my remaining Skill Points untouched and save them for later.

A foreshadowing, huh
