Chapter 65: He’s Mine Now

Chapter 65: He's Mine

Yang Yichen returned from his phone call, and Liu Mian naturally asked him, "Ready to head out?"

"We'll head down first." Yang Yichen raised his phone. "Brother Yan said he'll come meet us in a bit. If we head down now, the timing should be just about right."

"Alright."

As the four of them arrived at the parking lot, Liu Mian suddenly asked, "Did Qin Yan drive here?"

Yang Yichen slapped his forehead. "Ah, I totally forgot to ask. If he drove, then Zhi Yu can ride in Brother Yan's car, and you guys can ride in mine. How about that?"

The question was meant for both of them, but Yang Yichen only looked at Ji Yucheng, waiting for his input.

Liu Mian, of course, had no problem with it.

Ji Yucheng was about to answer when a luxury car with flashing hazard lights pulled up in front of them. The window rolled down, revealing Qin Yan's face.

Yang Yichen raised an eyebrow. "Yo, Brother Yan, talk about perfect timing."

Qin Yan's gaze swept over the group. Su Zhiyu and Liu Mian stood on either side of Yang Yichen, while Ji Yucheng stood next to Su Zhiyu.

That seemed... a bit too close!

Qin Yan's eyes narrowed, his fingers gripping the window edge.

Yang Yichen, completely oblivious, called out, "Good thing you drove. There are five of us—have Zhi Yu ride with you. Liu Mian and Yucheng can take my car."

Yucheng?

He's already won over his friends this fast?

Qin Yan silently gritted his teeth.

"Actually, I'll ride with Qin Yan as well. There's something I want to discuss with him anyway." Ji Yucheng volunteered, trailing after Su Zhiyu.

"Uh..."

Yang Yichen wanted to object, but he exchanged a glance with Liu Mian and held his tongue.

At this, Su Zhiyu's steps faltered slightly, but he said nothing.

The two walked one after another toward Qin Yan's car—one a tall, refined Alpha with a gentle demeanor, the other a slim, cool Omega with a quiet elegance.

Perhaps due to the original storyline, Qin Yan couldn't help but see them as a couple. Even their auras seemed to match.

Especially the way Ji Yucheng's gaze kept drifting toward Su Zhiyu, and when he looked at him from behind, there was a smile in his eyes.

Smiling, smiling.

Haven't you ever seen a beautiful person before?

A surge of inexplicable anger welled up in him. He wanted to see exactly what Ji Yucheng was up to—whether he'd fallen for Su Zhiyu at first sight, just like in the original plot.

Su Zhiyu's hand had just touched the door handle, ready to pull it open.

"Su Zhiyu."

Qin Yan suddenly spoke, and Su Zhiyu froze, looking at him with slight confusion.

Qin Yan rested one arm on the window frame, a faint, unreadable smile on his lips, yet there was no warmth in his eyes. He was speaking to Su Zhiyu, but his gaze was fixed on Ji Yucheng behind him.

"You go sit in Yang Yichen's car. I also have something I need to discuss privately with Teacher Ji Yucheng."

The moment the words left his mouth, Su Zhiyu's face went pale for a second. Then, as if realizing it wasn't appropriate, he quickly composed himself and calmly withdrew his hand:

"Okay."

Without asking a single question, he turned and walked over to Yang Yichen. When he passed Ji Yucheng, he didn't pause or even spare him a glance.

"Zhi—"

Ji Yucheng tried to call out, but before he could even finish, the other man had already walked past. He gave up.

Alright.

Qin Yan pulled his head back into the car, his voice flat. "Get in."

Ji Yucheng glanced back, saw Su Zhiyu already getting into Yang Yichen's car, and then finally stepped into Qin Yan's.

"Since when did Brother Yan get so close with Ji Yucheng? What do they need to talk about in private?" Yang Yichen asked, puzzled. Something felt off, but he couldn't quite place it.

Liu Mian closed the car door and said thoughtfully, "Maybe it's about the show. Qin Yan didn't seem that close with him either."

"Really? Then why are they..."

"Ah, it's probably something important. Maybe a business deal—aren't the Qin and Ji families involved in business together?"

With Liu Mian's reminder, Yang Yichen thought it made sense.

The two chatted casually, but Su Zhiyu stayed mostly quiet. He leaned against the window, his gaze involuntarily drifting toward Qin Yan's car.

Unfortunately, the windows were rolled up. He couldn't see anything, let alone hear what they were saying.

What were they talking about?

Why did they need to talk privately?

Why did Qin Yan send him away? Was he afraid his presence would interfere with the two of them?

"Zhi Yu." Liu Mian handed him a small pack of chocolates. "Have some. Let them talk business—we'll enjoy our snacks."

Su Zhiyu smiled and took it. "Alright."

Qin Yan pulled out first. The moment his car left the parking lot, he cut straight to the chase: "Stay away from Su Zhiyu. He's not someone you can get close to."

Ji Yucheng was in the middle of buckling his seatbelt. Hearing this, he turned his head, puzzled: "What did you just say?"

Did he hear that wrong?

Qin Yan didn't turn his head, repeating himself: "Stay away from Su Zhiyu."

"?" Ji Yucheng blinked, clicked his seatbelt into place, sat up straight, and still looked bewildered. "Am I close to him?"

Qin Yan paused for a moment, then said, "Don't you like Su Zhiyu? You can't give him what he wants, so don't go after him."

"I..."

"He's got me, and that's all he needs. He's not gonna like you anyway. Today was a fluke—I didn't know you'd be here, but since we've met, if you've got any other ideas, you'd better drop 'em now."

Qin Yan's voice was flat, with barely any change in tone, but it still carried some serious weight that made Ji Yucheng stop and think twice.

But...

Ji Yucheng still looked totally confused: "Wait, are you getting the wrong idea? I don't like Zhi Yu—who told you that? We only just met, right?"

"?" Qin Yan suddenly slammed on the brakes, whipping his head around to stare at him. "What did you say? You don't like him?"

Ji Yucheng grabbed the door handle from the jolt, annoyed: "I just think he's really unique and interesting and want to be friends with him. Look, I'm an Alpha, but that doesn't mean I'd fall for any random Omega. Even if I did like someone, I'd have to get to know them first..."

"What do you mean you don't like him?"

"What?"

Qin Yan's face went dark, his voice turning icy: "He's amazing, not like any other Omega, and you're putting him on the same level as some 'random Omega'?"

Ji Yucheng: "..."

Is that really the point?

He was about to explain when Qin Yan turned back around, a little smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth: "But even if you did like him, it wouldn't matter. He's taken."

Ji Yucheng: ?

Qin Yan started the car again and drove a few dozen feet before Ji Yucheng snapped out of it and burst out laughing.

"See, I told you—you're interesting, seriously interesting. Honestly, I'd rather be friends with you than Su Zhiyu. Oh, by the way, I sent you a friend request earlier, and you rejected it. Was it 'cause you were scared I'd try to steal Zhi Yu from you?"

Qin Yan brushed off the smugness in his voice, but his sharp eyes caught a certain detail.

A friend request?

He had no idea about that.

"When?"

"What?"

"When'd you send me a friend request?"

Ji Yucheng looked like he couldn't believe it: "You forgot that quick? It was yesterday—I added you at night to ask you to dinner, but you never even accepted."
