Chapter 15: The Young Master Was Picked Up by Someone

Chi Xingcun's face was burning red, and he pushed the person away with an annoyed expression: "...Would you quit it? You know damn well I'm gay..."

Qin Liyi propped himself up on both sides of Chi Xingcun, staring at the lively face before him, giving a little tsk, then grinning even wider: "So what? I know, but we're good friends, right? Isn't this what friends do? And anyway, I'm straight."

He went to hug Chi Xingcun again, but Chi Xingcun dodged him and got up to leave.

Qin Liyi followed right behind him into the room, then leaned back against the wall, crossed his arms, and flashed a lazy, cocky grin:

"Avoiding me? I told you, you're sleeping with me, so this room's useless now."

"...You've got some nerve." Chi Xingcun was done with him.

"I'm sleepy, I'm gonna take a nap." Chi Xingcun climbed straight onto the bed.

Qin Liyi tilted his head in mock disappointment: "Fine, then I'll close the window and turn off the lights for you, and wake you up in a bit."

He grabbed the remote to close the window, and only once the room was completely dark did he close the door and leave.

Standing at the door, he looked down, lost in thought—a thought crossed his mind: was he being too nice to Chi Xingcun?

Sure, he wanted to cheer Chi Xingcun up, but now he was closer to Chi Xingcun than even Fu Chenzhan was.

Fu Chenzhan was Chi Xingcun's fiancé, and he was just a friend...

Yeah, being nice is fine, but as a straight guy, he really shouldn't be getting so hands-on with the young master. That could easily give people the wrong idea.

Ah... it's all the young master's fault. Sometimes he's just too damn tempting.

He went downstairs, lounging lazily on the sofa with his legs crossed, smoking a cigarette, waiting for Chi Xingcun to wake up.

Just then, a phone call came in.

It was Fu Chenzhan.

"Why did you take Chi Xingcun to your place?"

His tone was flat, giving nothing away.

Qin Liyi rolled his eyes, looking more annoyed than usual, a sneer on his face: "To play, what else? What, worried about the young master? That can't be it, right? The young master hasn't seen you in over a month, and you haven't even reached out to him, have you?"

Fu Chenzhan was quiet for two seconds on the other end of the line before speaking: "Your mother called me because you skipped this meeting. What was I supposed to say? That you're hanging out with my fiancée?"

His voice remained calm.

"Shit." Qin Liyi swore irritably, then shot back sarcastically, "I never saw you pull the 'he's your fiancée' card before. So just because he's your fiancée, he can't have other friends? Fu Chenzhan, you said you were gonna break it off with him, right? So that whole 'fiancée' thing doesn't fly with me."

The second the words left his mouth, a noise came from upstairs behind him. He spun around, but the upstairs hallway was empty.

He stared for a moment, and Chi Xingcun's door was still closed.

His stomach dropped, and he thought, shit, if the young master heard that, he'd be crushed.

He hung up the phone directly, hurried upstairs as quietly as he could, then pushed open Chi Xingcun's door, only to find Chi Xingcun still lying in bed, exactly in the same position as before.

He walked in and stared down at Chi Xingcun for a bit, and when he got no response, he turned and walked out.

Even though Chi Xingcun had told him not to bring up Fu Chenzhan anymore, as if he didn't like Fu Chenzhan anymore, Qin Liyi felt that knowing the young master like he did, he was probably just still pissed. If he heard that, he'd be devastated.

He closed the door and sent Fu Chenzhan another message: "If you don't want to get an earful, come pick him up yourself tomorrow."

Inside the room, Chi Xingcun's eyes snapped open.

Having been through all that in his past life, he wasn't the least bit sad now. He was just a little taken aback—so Fu Chenzhan had already wanted to call off the engagement this early on...

He'd thought Fu Chenzhan only decided to ditch him after he'd caused too much trouble in his past life.

That evening, Chi Xingcun wanted to go back, but Qin Liyi refused to let him leave.

Qin Liyi watched a horror movie with him. Chi Xingcun was a total scaredy-cat but couldn't look away, and they ended up watching until the early hours of the morning.

By 3 a.m., the two of them had both dozed off on the living room carpet.

The next day, Qin Liyi was jolted awake by the doorbell. He cracked his eyes open, annoyed, and sat up, seeing Chi Xingcun lying beside him, eyes closed, looking really cute while he slept.

He smiled, dragged himself up, and went to open the door.

The second he saw who it was, Qin Liyi was wide awake, his eyes going cold.

"How the hell did you find this place?"

Xie Yean said, "Class is about to start. Please wake the young master."

As Qin Liyi ground his teeth, Chi Xingcun woke up, shuffled over still half-asleep, and said with a smile, "You're here. Wait for me."

Once inside, with Xie Yean outside the door, Qin Liyi said unhappily, "You told him to come?"

Chi Xingcun looked at him: "I'm getting ready for the school art show, so I have him stick around whenever he's free."

Of course it's about painting again...

Qin Liyi frowned, took two steps and cornered Chi Xingcun against the sink: "Does he have to be your model? Why can't it be me?"

Chi Xingcun almost choked on his water at that, immediately shoving him away, then spat out the foam and said, "Quit talking nonsense."

"How am I talking nonsense now?" Qin Liyi said, sulky and hurt, "He can do it but I can't? Am I not as good-looking as he is?"

Chi Xingcun was caught off guard for a second, then quickly said, "Of course not, you're good-looking too. You don't have to—"

"So what am I missing?"

Qin Liyi had to know, so Chi Xingcun had to say, "You two are just different types. Just drop it, I'm gonna be late."

Before Qin Liyi could even get ready to take him to school, Chi Xingcun had already slung his backpack on and bolted out the door.

Then, right before Qin Liyi's eyes, the car slowly pulled away, vanishing from sight.

"Shit."

Qin Liyi swore under his breath, pissed off, but then he remembered—he and the young master were only friends. Did he really have any reason to be this pissed?

Right, he didn't need to get so worked up. He still had to keep his distance as a straight guy from a gay guy, so people wouldn't get the wrong idea.

......

About half an hour later, the doorbell rang again.

He definitely didn't feel like smiling anymore.

Just as he'd figured, sure enough, Fu Chenzhan was standing at the door.

At least this guy's got a bit of a conscience after all, coming to pick up the young master.

Fu Chenzhan, dressed in his student council president suit, stood tall and lean. Though only eighteen, his eyes and brows already radiated a mix of calm and menace.

He didn't say a word to Qin Liyi, just stepped forward to head inside and get the young master.

Qin Liyi yawned and drawled lazily, "You're too late. The young master's already been picked up."

"By whom?" Fu Chenzhan's gaze was as indifferent as a cold-blooded creature's.

Qin Liyi sneered, "A model he just hired. Those two are inseparable—thick as thieves."

Fu Chenzhan was silent for a few seconds before asking again, "Did you share a bed with him last night?"
