Chapter 35: Xie Yean Shows Up
Qin Liyi checked Fu Chenzhan's class schedule and found that he had no classes this morning, so he drove straight to Fu Chenzhan's company.
Using some kind of high-tech trick, he got into the chairman's private elevator without an ID card, slipping past the security guards before they even knew what was happening, and rode straight up to Fu Chenzhan's office floor.
He walked to the end of the hall and shoved open the door to Fu Chenzhan's office.
Sure enough, Fu Chenzhan was there.
Fu Chenzhan looked up at the sound and didn't look surprised to see him.
Qin Liyi walked straight over and plopped down in the chair across from Fu Chenzhan.
"If you're here about a deal, talk to my assistant."
Fu Chenzhan's tone was frigid.
Qin Liyi sat with his leg crossed and let out a sneer: "Your company's pretty mediocre. The security didn't even try to stop me—just let me waltz right in."
Fu Chenzhan brushed off his provocation.
Actually, when the security guard saw him get into the private elevator, he figured the chairman must have given him a card, but he still thought it was weird and called Fu Chenzhan to check. Fu Chenzhan had seen Qin Liyi and just didn't bother having anyone stop him.
"If you're just gonna spout nonsense, get the hell out."
The two used to get along pretty well, but from the day Chi Xingcun started sleeping over at Qin Liyi's place, they'd quietly started butting heads.
Qin Liyi couldn't stand his holier-than-thou act.
"If Chi Xingcun's parents found out about the mess you made yesterday, what do you think would happen?"
His tone was lazy, with a smirk that carried a threat.
Too bad none of that could get to Fu Chenzhan.
He had always done whatever he wanted, never caring about the consequences.
"Who the hell are you to talk to me about him? What's your relationship with him? Just friends?"
Fu Chenzhan looked up calmly, his sharp eyes sheathing a knife, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Just friends... true, but so what?
"Not just friends—best friends. And I'm a real nice guy, too. How could I stand by and watch my best friend get bullied by a dog... oh, sorry, I mean a person."
His dark brown eyes locked onto Fu Chenzhan, practically daring him.
Fu Chenzhan returned his gaze with equally dark eyes.
Neither would back down.
"From now on, I'll keep a close eye on my fiancé. He's too naive—I wouldn't want him to be tricked by someone pretending to be straight." Fu Chenzhan said smoothly.
"?" Qin Liyi's brow furrowed hard. "Some people will make up any excuse to justify being a piece of shit."
Fu Chenzhan had initially trusted Qin Liyi, believing he was truly straight and letting him get close to his fiancé. But then... his fiancé ended up staying at Qin Liyi's house and never left.
What's more, he'd seen with his own eyes Qin Liyi pulling his fiancé into his arms.
He suddenly felt like he'd been played for a fool and had his girl stolen.
He couldn't help but wonder—had Qin Liyi been pretending to be straight all along, just to steal his fiancé?
And last night, he'd confirmed it with his own eyes—the two had slept together, with Qin Liyi holding Chi Xingcun tightly.
Would a wild, free-spirited straight guy like Qin Liyi hold a brother like that?
But seeing Qin Liyi's reaction now, he understood—this guy had gone gay but hadn't realized it yet.
He didn't know how Qin Liyi had turned, but he hoped it wasn't because of his fiancé—because straight guys usually get obsessed with whoever flips them.
And with Qin Liyi's nature, if he couldn't have what he wanted, he'd turn into a rabid dog.
"If you came all the way here just to say this nonsense, then don't bother."
Qin Liyi rolled his eyes, slowly stood up, placed both hands on Fu Chenzhan's desk, and loomed over him: "The sports meet is coming up. You wanna go head-to-head with me?"
Fu Chenzhan found this hot-headed, childish proposal boring.
Since childhood, he had received countless challenges, and he had never agreed to any of them.
These people challenged him just because they couldn't keep up with him but couldn't stand to admit it.
And the outcome would always be the same—there was no need to waste his time.
But Qin Liyi was somewhat different. He was definitely dumb in some ways, but he wasn't completely useless.
"Why?" Fu Chenzhan asked flatly. "What do you want?"
Qin Liyi arched an eyebrow coolly: "If you lose, you apologize to Chi Xingcun, own up to your mistake, and promise him you'll never do anything like that again."
"Ha." Fu Chenzhan let out a cold laugh, his eyes turning icy as he looked at Qin Liyi.
Who was he to make decisions for his fiancé?
But...
"Fine. What are we competing in?"
He closed his laptop. Making this guy feel like trash was worth his time.
"Seven events. First place gets three points, second gets two, third gets one, and everyone else gets zero. Whoever has the most points wins." Qin Liyi said, clearly intrigued. "Do you dare?"
"Fine." Fu Chenzhan replied coolly. "And if you lose?"
"Whatever you want."
"Good. Then will Young Master Qin be on his way?"
Qin Liyi shot him a glance and sauntered out of the office.
Standing outside the company, he took a deep breath, pulled out his phone, and stared at Young Master's profile picture on WeChat.
Although Fu Chenzhan looked like a bookworm, the guy was actually his equal when it came to sports. So this was going to be a fair fight.
"Let's grab lunch. I'll come pick you up." He typed and sent it to Chi Xingcun.
"Sure." Chi Xingcun replied quickly.
He thought again about what Fu Chenzhan had said about a gay guy faking being straight. Although he wasn't part of that circle, he knew that people like that were the most disgusting.
How could he ever do that?
......
After class let out, Chi Xingcun walked out of the teaching building. Out of the corner of his eye, he turned and unexpectedly spotted someone.
He stared at the person for a few moments before his eyes widened in surprise.
It was Xie Yean.
Xie Yean was in all white, and he looked incredibly pure. He wore a black mask covering half his face, but Chi Xingcun still recognized him by the eyes under the black brim of his cap.
Xie Yean was looking at him too.
Thrilled, he ran after him, but when he got behind the wall, Xie Yean had vanished.
He chased after him again, and as he rounded a corner, a hand grabbed him, and then he was pulled into a hug.
He looked up, and it was Xie Yean!
Xie Yean had taken off his mask.
Chi Xingcun was overjoyed yet concerned: "What are you doing here? Have you been okay? Where did you go?!"
Xie Yean's pale eyes gazed deeply at the person in front of him.
His chest ached with an embarrassing throb—it hurt, but... he missed him so much.
He swallowed hard, trying to restrain himself. He wanted to ask if he could hug him, but he didn't dare. It would be too shameless, and he wasn't worthy.
"Yeah, I've been fine. And you?"
This place was between the gymnasium and the woods, with few passersby.
Chi Xingcun studied his eyes and face closely, then took it upon himself to gently tug at his collar to check his neck and shoulders.
The spots that had been injured before were now pale and smooth, showing no trace of harm.
At his sudden closeness, Xie Yean's breath caught, and his ears grew hot.
He grabbed Chi Xingcun's wrist, intending to push him away.
