Chapter 49: The Young Master Is So White
Qin Liyi won first place in six consecutive events. During the final 3,000-meter race, he caught a glimpse of a crowd cornering Chi Xingcun, so he charged over, pushed his way through the crowd, and shielded Chi Xingcun in his arms, demanding to know what they were doing.
He thought it was bullying, but it turned out they were just blushing and only admitted they wanted his WeChat once he asked.
They didn't dare ask him directly, so they could only sneakily ask Chi Xingcun when he wasn't around.
Qin Liyi was completely done with it.
In the end, Qin Liyi placed second in the 3,000-meter race.
He missed first place by one second.
He was in a bad mood, and Chi Xingcun came to comfort him, saying he was already amazing.
Qin Liyi figured even Fu Chenzhan would struggle to beat that score.
But if he really did win first in all seven events, who knows what kind of demand he'd come up with.
On the night Qin Liyi's school sports meet ended, his class held a bonding event. Qin Liyi had won six golds and one silver, so there was no way he could skip it. If he didn't, his teacher and classmates would show up at his door and drag him there.
At noon, Qin Liyi asked Chi Xingcun if he wanted to come. Although Chi Xingcun wasn't in his class, a lot of people wanted him there, since he'd been cheering Qin Liyi on all week and had earned his spot.
Chi Xingcun shook his head and said he didn't want to go.
He got a little socially anxious and didn't want to deal with a bunch of strangers.
Hearing this, Qin Liyi didn't push. He did want the young master to get out more and spend time with him, but a few guys in his class were gay, and more than a few of them looked at the young master with obvious, not-so-pure intentions.
The class study committee member had once asked Chi Xingcun, when he wasn't around, if he wanted to do a cosplay shoot. After they added each other on WeChat, she sent Chi Xingcun pictures that were straight-up pornographic.
Neck out, chest out, thighs out.
By nightfall, just picturing the young master dressed like that made Qin Liyi's throat go dry.
No way was he letting the young master go!
He had to keep these people far away from the young master's line of sight. If he wasn't around, these people were basically animals—who knows what they'd do to the young master!
At six in the evening, Qin Liyi left the house. He reminded Chi Xingcun again and again that he'd bring him something tasty tonight, while inside, he was begging the young master not to leave the house.
But he had no idea if the young master got the hint.
Still, he figured that if no one invited him out, the young master probably wouldn't leave.
And whoever invited the young master couldn't be just anybody—otherwise, he wouldn't even bother leaving the house.
Once outside, Qin Liyi pulled up the surveillance feed on his phone.
He had over a dozen cameras installed around the villa, and this one was angled at the living room.
Chi Xingcun was sprawled on the sofa reading, legs crossed, one hand under his chin, the other turning pages.
Hearing the camera move, he sat up, looked over at it, then got closer and pressed his face right up against the lens.
"Qin Liyi..."
He blinked those big eyes of his.
That soft voice slipped through the wireless earbuds straight into Qin Liyi's ears.
His fingers twitched, his eyes went wide, and his whole body started reacting—
Shit! Where the hell am I going? Forget it! Don't go! Is there anywhere else I need to be other than right next to the young master?!
He was going out of his mind!!
He turned around, and the villa was already swallowed by the dark.
He knew he was overreacting. At some point, he just couldn't be away from the young master anymore! And it wasn't just a little thing—it was bad!
If this kept getting worse, he'd need to see a shrink!
His fingers, like they had a mind of their own, kept tracing the young master's figure on the screen.
The young master poured himself a glass of cold water, then flopped back onto the sofa, his back arching. Since he was in shorts, his thighs and calves were on full display—so pale, so slim, so soft, and his feet were just as white.
Qin Liyi slammed his phone face-down. He didn't dare look anymore.
If he kept looking, he'd end up embarrassing himself for real.
......
Chi Xingcun had recently gotten into reading. He found that reading cleared his mind. When he wasn't reading or sleeping, his head was a mess, replaying all kinds of humiliating and painful moments from his past life.
Qin Liyi had a whole study room with three walls lined with books, so he could pick out a new one every day.
Just then, his phone buzzed. It wasn't Qin Liyi—his texts had a special ringtone. He picked it up and saw it was from Xie Yean.
He sat up straight and opened the message.
Xie Yean: "I'm free tonight. Wanna meet up?"
Chi Xingcun thought for a moment and replied, "Okay."
They agreed to meet at a quiet restaurant with limited seating.
It was only 6:30, and it wasn't even dark yet.
Chi Xingcun changed, headed out, and grabbed a cab. By 7:00, he was at the restaurant entrance.
Xie Yean came out to greet him.
"Hey." Chi Xingcun greeted him warmly.
Xie Yean looked at him, barely holding back the flutter in his chest.
"Young master," he called out.
He pronounced each word with great care. He treasured those two words.
Chi Xingcun walked up to him: "No need to call me that. Just call me Chi Xingcun."
"I'm used to calling you that." Xie Yean curved his lips slightly.
Chi Xingcun was taken aback for a moment, then said, "Well, suit yourself then."
The two entered the restaurant, and the table was one Xie Yean had booked a week earlier.
They sat down, and a waiter came over enthusiastically to take their order.
Chi Xingcun took charge and ordered a bunch of dishes he knew wouldn't disappoint.
He didn't need to hold back when spending on Xie Yean.
Xie Yean sat across from him without a word, letting him order.
He wasn't familiar with this kind of restaurant, so he'd done a lot of homework before coming. But clearly, someone of the young master's status didn't need to do "research." The dishes the young master ordered just happened to be the exact ones he'd found with rave reviews in his research.
After ordering, Chi Xingcun looked up at the person in front of him.
It had been a while since they'd last seen each other, and Xie Yean had changed a lot.
He wasn't as skinny as before—he'd filled out a lot, and his posture and bearing had become more polished.
What kind of job had caused such a big change?
Xie Yean looked at him, his gaze soft, and slid a card out from under the table, placing it in front of him.
"Medical expenses."
Chi Xingcun snapped out of it—he hadn't even been keeping track of that money.
"No need."
Before he could finish, Xie Yean cut him off firmly: "I said I owed you then, and I will definitely repay you."
When he left the hospital, he'd specifically asked about the cost of one night's stay and the meds, and he'd factored in the most expensive prices he could find online.
He didn't want to be in the young master's debt.
"Alright..." Knowing Xie Yean, he had no choice but to accept it.
Chi Xingcun looked at the person before him, tracing the jade bangle in his bag, wondering how to give it to him.
His grandparents had solemnly slipped this jade onto his wrist when he came of age.
It was the only one of its kind in the world—a full-color, glass-type imperial green jade with a pink star set into it.
It had fetched 1.5 billion at auction back then.
