Chapter 389: Roundtable Discussion (Part 2)

Need more explanation? King Arthur, you know the drill. This Round Table Knight meeting is also a classic Western fantasy trope, not worth repeating.

It was time. A knock came from the suite door.

Veronica hadn’t run around today either, obediently waiting in her room.

Outside stood a group of Salam Knights, with a specially assigned female knight to knock.

Samimi went to open the door and found a group of people standing outside.

“Sister, hello. Today is the day of the Knight Feast. The Salam Knights have prepared a Round Table seat. The other Saint ladies also have front-row audience seats. Which one of you will be taking the Round Table seat?”

The Salam female knight explained seriously.

“Of course, our Battle Valkyrie Priestess, Lady Shalum.”

Samimi replied.

“Understood. Let me escort you to the Round Table meeting.”

The Salam female knight said.

The group set off in a grand procession. However, as they walked, the other Salam Knights left, as they had other reception duties. In the end, only this female knight was responsible for receiving the Revenge Squad.

It was obvious that Count Salam wasn’t very attentive to them. It wasn’t that he didn’t care; actually he did value them. To be precise, he wasn’t vigilant enough. It seemed he hadn’t realized they were here to cause trouble.

There were many passing knights on the road, all heading in the same direction.

That was the Central Garden of Dream Village. It was called a garden, but it was actually a circular plaza. They just placed some flowers and plants around it and forced it to be a garden.

In the middle was placed a large, thick round table, surrounded by a circle of high-backed chairs. It looked very ostentatious.

And that was the Round Table meeting. Only the most prestigious great nobles and great knights were qualified to sit there.

Others could only sit on the sides, and even then only a few had stools. More knights could only stand behind to watch.

All knights here were divided into three classes, distinguished by reputation and strength, very intuitively reflecting the status gap between them.

Samimi and the others could sit in the first row of the audience, watching the Round Table meeting up close, which showed that Count Salam had given enough face to the Church and the Holy Knight Order.

A group of four girls, and even a half-beast, all sitting in this meeting centered on male knights, was simply a desecration. So they were almost glared at by everyone present.

There were angry, annoyed, jealous, and of course, lecherous gazes.

However, Black Samimi had a seat at the Round Table, a spot reserved for the Holy Knight Order. Moreover, Black Samimi was the most gorgeously dressed and most superior in temperament among the Revenge Squad. With her sitting there, everyone could only stare helplessly, no one daring to complain.

They arrived the earliest. Only Black Samimi sat at the Round Table; all other VIPs were late. Or rather, they didn’t arrive early—they were tricked.

Was this Count Salam’s show of power? A bit too petty, wasn’t it? Doesn’t dare to use other tricks, only dares to make them feel sick like this?

Anyway, the four in the audience seats could move freely and go to nearby shops for breakfast and come back when the meeting starts. But Black Samimi, who had taken the Round Table seat, couldn’t just get up now.

Anyway, the knights would never guess that the one sitting there was a fake. The four real ones were all below watching the show.

Samimi sat below, watching the motionless Black Samimi who had entered standby mode, as if admiring a work of art. Black Samimi was the center of attention, stared at by all the knights, yet didn’t show the slightest flaw.

Samimi herself hated being the center of attention, absolutely detested being stared at. Now she had created a doppelganger to attract attention and aggression for her—what a genius idea, genius magic.

Even if the knights stared their eyes out, they couldn’t see through Black Samimi’s facade. She sat there unmoving like a mountain, like a statue, emitting an endless aura of majesty. This calm composure also made the knights quite admire her, gradually won over.

Really terrifying.

Time passed second by second. The seats in the audience gradually filled, and the empty space further back soon became packed with hundreds of knights.

Many of them were quite famous figures, and some were even knight captains, but they could only stand here. However, being famous or a knight captain was nothing here.

Those who could sit were the renowned knight captains. And those who could sit at the Round Table were the cream of the crop.

“Welcome, Lord Daniel, Captain of the Divine Emperor Knights!”

“Welcome, Lord Henry, Captain of the Frostblade Knights!”

“Welcome, Lord Iverly, Captain of the Thunder Grace Knights!”

“Welcome, Lord Cress, Captain of the Windwhisper Knights!”

“Welcome, Lord Benjamin, Captain of the Stellar Knights!”

“Welcome, Lord Felix, Captain of the Lion Knights!”

“Welcome, Lord Harrison, Captain of the Flame Soul Knights!”

With each booming welcome announcement from the Salam Knights, the big stars of the knight circle appeared one by one. Each cheer represented the highest honor in the knight circle, an unmatched glory that all knights dreamed of, more precious than any amount of gold.

Each was a great knight captain who ruled over a region. Each had their own unique skill. At the same time, each had a group of elite knights whose strength towered above others and who were utterly loyal.

By the way, more than half of these great knight captains held noble titles, either barons or viscounts, born into knight families like Fabiana.

“Lastly, let’s give a grand welcome to Count Perry, Count Salam, and Marquis Edward, who will preside over this highly anticipated Knight Feast!”

After all the great knight captains had taken their seats, the Salam female knight who had guided them went up to act as host, leading the final three giants of the West Sea onto the stage.

The entire venue immediately erupted in thunderous applause.

There wasn’t much to say about the three giants of the West Sea. Unremarkable appearances, wearing ornate clothes, white-faced middle-aged men covered in powder, effeminate, almost like triplets.

Most importantly, who was following them.

Beside Count Salam followed a small dwarf who looked like a rock block. An ultra-long beard almost dragging on the ground, a macho crew cut, completely out of place among the clean and tidy knights. Filthy all over, holding a hammer, as if just dug out of a coal mine.

Beside Marquis Edward followed an ordinary middle-aged human man. Wearing a shabby cloth armor that looked like it was bought from some street stall, messy golden hair like weeds, bangs covering his eyes, a full beard, and walking with a drunken stagger, looking completely unprofessional.

How come the bodyguards found by these two great lords are both in such a state? One of them was the West Coast Fighting God, while the other’s origin was unknown.

As for Count Perry, there was no one beside him, yet it was as if someone was there.

…

Fabiana stared at Count Perry, the hatred of killing her parents burning inside her.

“Not yet.”

Samimi immediately patted her hand to calm her down.

“Not yet.”

“I know.”

After Samimi touched her hand, Fabiana quickly calmed down and focused on the bigger picture.

As for Count Perry on the opposite side, he had actually been staring at the female saint practitioners from the moment he appeared. But he wasn’t glaring at the little nuns and little priests below. Instead, he was glaring at Black Samimi, who was resting with closed eyes at the Round Table.
