Chapter 421: Only a Pose-Making Idiot (Part 2)

The [Mountain God Ridge] that they had once glimpsed. Returning to the West Sea, the Revenge Squad was going back for a round, back to where it all began.

That place was the rebel army’s stronghold. Their power had grown rapidly, like a malignant tumor sprouting in the middle of the West Sea, difficult to remove.

The rebels had taken root at the edge of Marquis Edward’s territory. It had originally been a deep mountain forest, but now it had become a paradise for thugs, and they could freely invade the other two great lords’ territories.

Within the great lords’ lands there were many smaller lords. The rebels specifically picked on these minor lords, rolling over them, killing their entire families, and plundering their property. Everyone was in fear, trembling with anxiety.

Many minor lords were simply village chiefs over one or two villages. Their territories had to support many commoners, but when faced with this situation, they usually just ran away and didn’t care about the commoners’ lives or deaths.

And this couldn’t be blamed on the minor lords. How many militiamen did their own village have? How many soldiers did the rebels have? What right did they have to block the rebel invasion?

Now the rebels had completely become a malignant organization. They had a little bit of gangster honor before, but now they had completely dropped the act.

A big bunch of hungry ghosts gathered on the mountain, not farming or planting. Were they supposed to beg every day? They could only rely on burning, killing, looting, and pillaging to replenish their funds.

“They’ve finally revealed their true nature. The initial innocence was all an act.”

The Avenger Squad passed through two villages. This was the latest intelligence Samimi had gathered.

They sat in a corner of the tavern, holding a secret meeting.

Samimi realized that without Veronica, they could barely move forward.

A team of four couldn’t even read a map properly. They only knew a general direction, had no route plan, and basically just took whatever road was there.

Especially Shirley William. She was completely useless in everyday life. She didn’t understand anything, had zero worldly experience—she didn’t even know how to buy something from a general store.

She needed Niubao to drag her out of bed like pulling an ox.

She was even sleepier than Samimi. She often stayed up late studying magic. Every day, Samimi had no idea how she managed to get from Salam’s territory to the Knight Academy.

But thinking about it in reverse, this woman might have originally planned to interfere in the first battle between humans and demons, but she was too slow and didn’t make it in time to help.

Samimi had known from the start that this person was a divine knight, but she hadn’t expected her to be this divine.

In the eyes of many magic apprentices, she was a godlike figure, but in reality, she was a giant baby who couldn’t take care of herself. She couldn’t do anything except act cool and strike poses.

But there was no helping it—her strength was real.

“I’m not like those pig-headed former teammates. I’m not going to kick the team’s main carry out of the party.”

But Samimi was also gradually understanding why she herself had been kicked out of the team back then.

She felt like kicking Shirley William every moment. She really wanted to abandon her on the roadside and let her fend for herself.

The contrast was too great.

Assassin Miss had been too useful before, making Shirley William look like a puddle of mud on the ground, hopeless.

A green caterpillar lazier than Samimi!

Just thinking about it was absurd!

“How is my School of Healing doing at the academy?” Samimi asked.

“They can sit at the table to eat now. I don’t know what those other legendary old mages are thinking. You people really make our Elemental Factions lose face,” Shirley William complained.

“A bunch of dogs raised by the headmasters! Even heretical magicians can sit at the table at the faction meeting?”

“Hearing how angry you are, it seems they’re doing well,” Samimi said with a smile.

“Did you cultivate magic just for killing and fighting?” Shirley William said angrily. “Things completely lacking in magical beauty—a bunch of utilitarian bastards.”

Samimi retorted, “What else? Learning magic is for taking out weaklings like you.”

“Then let’s settle this here! Come out! Let’s fight!” Shirley William slammed the table hard.

“I don’t fight cheaters,” Samimi refused flatly.

“Where am I cheating?” Shirley William demanded angrily.

“Isn’t flying cheating?” Samimi shot back.

“That’s an ability I comprehended. How can you call that cheating? If you put it that way, you’re the real cheater. Your Wood element can erode mana, you’re born with a super strong shield-breaking ability, making you invincible in magical combat—unbeatable.” Shirley William challenged.

“I’ve already predicted the outcome. You can’t break through my defense, and I can’t catch you when you fly,” Samimi said with a light laugh, refusing.

She knew Shirley was a battle maniac, so she wouldn’t fight her. Let her bottle up that anger and vent it on the real enemy.

“Stop with the nonsense. Let’s go take a bath. After washing, we’ll sleep early. We’ll be entering rebel-controlled territory soon, and the road ahead won’t be peaceful.”

Samimi warmly invited everyone to bathe.

So they foolishly followed her to the inn’s women’s bath to soak.

Fabiana knew about Samimi’s twisted orientation, but now there was nothing left to hide.

The bond between them as teammates had surpassed boring desires.

Poor Shirley William was completely exposed.

She was a bit older than Samimi and the others—a twenty-year-old big sister, truly a ripe peach. Perfect age, perfect body.

But even the perverted Samimi only observed from close range, didn’t use her Spirit Hand, and became quite gentlemanly, entering sage mode early.

After all, recent events had put everyone under a lot of pressure. They focused on soaking, recovering some sanity, and didn’t want to mess around with pointless things.

The Order of Compassion possessed a Blood Clan Sacred Artifact that could deal with them, just like their own Sun Gold Sutra—both were incomprehensible conceptual weapons.

Although the [Hell Bible] among them had already been used and its ability was known, the Red-clad Doctor had revealed that they had two Blood Clan Sacred Artifacts and were in the process of finding a third.

Even she wouldn’t fare well against such super weapons.

If Shalum used Triple Thorns, even if Samimi herself stepped in, she’d still die.

There was no way to laugh and joke every day anymore. Anyone in the West Sea could be an enemy.

The Binding Wall had also been sealed by an invisible force. The West Sea was becoming more and more dangerous.

Early the next morning, the Revenge Squad continued on their journey. As dusk fell, they arrived at another small town.

This was within the rebels’ notorious zone of intimidation. The moment they entered the town, the atmosphere felt different.

There were too few people, and there was a lifeless, oppressive mood.

No guests, no foot traffic, no energy at all.

It seemed the rebels had scared off all the traveling merchant caravans.

That was a devastating blow to a town like this. It would slowly become desolate, eventually a ghost town.

The four arrived at a shabby inn. There was only an old owner who was half in the grave. They called for him a long time but he couldn’t hear them—he was a bit deaf.

Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack!

Before they could wake the owner, a large group of people guarding the town entrance suddenly appeared and surrounded them.
