Chapter 9: So Sexy

Chapter 9: So Sexy

After lunch.

Lu Hechi wandered around the villa alone, trying to jog his memory by looking for familiar things.

He started from the bedroom on the first floor, going room by room. Besides the kitchen and dining room, there were three more suites on the first floor.

But they were all empty, unoccupied.

Up on the second and third floors, the largest, sunniest room should be the master bedroom. There was a big bed two meters wide, with a wedding photo of the two of them in suits hanging above the headboard.

The composition was perfect, sunlight shining on both their faces, with their backs turned away from each other, as beautiful as a magazine cover.

Lu Hechi stared at the photo. He wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but he seemed a bit unhappy in it.

His expression was cold, with a cold, unapproachable look.

...It must have been that the sunlight was too strong and the photographer didn't do it justice.

The photographer was really bad.

With that thought, Lu Hechi withdrew his gaze and looked at the pillows on the bed. Strange, a bed that big but only one pillow.

Weren't they married?

Lu Hechi wondered if he'd thrown the other pillow away on purpose so he could hold Shen Lanxue at night.

That was totally something he'd do.

"..."

Lu Hechi had searched almost the entire villa top to bottom, but still couldn't find any trace of his past.

He lay down on the bed, feeling tired.

The pillow still smelled like Shen Lanxue. He buried his face in it and breathed in deep.

After sleeping next to Shen Lanxue these past few days, his body had gotten used to his scent, and before he knew it, he was out cold.

Around nine that night, after Shen Lanxue had gotten Shen Yixing to sleep and come back to the room, he found Lu Hechi passed out on his bed, using his pillow.

His expression softened, and his movements unconsciously turned gentler as he walked over slowly.

Lu Hechi's eyes were closed, long lashes resting, breathing steady—he looked so peaceful.

Shen Lanxue watched him for a minute, then reached out to pull the blanket up over him.

Then, letting out a quiet breath, he slipped out of the room, closed the door, and went to a guest room to sleep.

At the hospital, he'd had an excuse—sharing a bed to take care of him.

But back home, Shen Lanxue couldn't keep lying to himself.

Amnesia or not, Lu Hechi probably didn't want to share a bed with him.

Shen Lanxue picked a guest room right next door.

After his shower, he padded out of the bathroom in slippers, wrapped in a robe, still damp from the steam.

In the dim light, his features looked faintly indifferent.

Shen Lanxue grabbed his phone off the coffee table, leaned back on the sofa, and tapped out a message to a guy named Song Jiyao.

"Is Chen Jiadong yours?"

The other guy took almost twenty minutes to reply.

"What do you need?"

Shen Lanxue knew the type. Everyone in their circle knew Song Jiyao kept a canary.

He spoiled him rotten.

That wasn't anything new.

After all, in his position, that kind of thing was common—some guys kept ten or more on the side behind their partner's back.

But Song Jiyao was different. His family had been in politics for generations, and he'd been engaged since childhood. Given his status, he really shouldn't be messing with guys.

But he was rebellious. Back in college, he'd already kept a few—both guys and girls—and his favorite, the one he brought out most, was Chen Jiadong.

Shen Lanxue never would've guessed that guy was Lu Hechi's friend.

He looked down and replied.

"No, just doing a favor for a friend."

Song Jiyao: "180×××××××"

Song Jiyao: "Let's get together sometime. I'll pick the spot."

Shen Lanxue: "Okay."

Shen Lanxue stared at the phone number but didn't send it to Lu Hechi right away.

He tapped the screen.

He wondered if this guy might be someone Lu Hechi had a crush on in high school.

Probably not—after all, before the amnesia, Lu Hechi already knew about Chen Jiadong and Song Jiyao's relationship.

"Knock, knock, knock."

Shen Lanxue looked toward the door.

At this hour, no servant would bother him. He already had a good idea who it was, so he got up and opened the door.

Lu Hechi had changed into pajamas and was leaning against the doorframe, eyes half-closed. "Bro, it's so late—why aren't you coming to bed?"

Shen Lanxue said evenly, "I saw you were asleep, didn't want to wake you, so I came in here to shower."

"Oh." Lu Hechi yawned.

He stepped back to let him in, voice still thick with sleep. "Then come back with me. I'm awake now, and you're already done showering."

Shen Lanxue replied, "Okay."

He turned back to grab his phone, then followed Lu Hechi back to the master bedroom.

A dim ambient light glowed in the room. As the door closed, it felt as if the world had come to a standstill.

Lu Hechi had sobered up a bit by now. He reached out and touched the ends of Shen Lanxue's hair, asking, "Ge, you didn't blow-dry your hair. It's really wet."

Shen Lanxue nodded. "Didn't get the chance."

Truth was, he'd never planned to blow-dry it in the first place.

He didn't have the habit of blow-drying his hair. After a shower, he'd dive into work, and by the time his hair was nearly dry, he'd crawl into bed.

"You smell so good." Lu Hechi pressed the water droplets between his fingers, leaned in, chin resting on Shen Lanxue's shoulder, and slid an arm around his waist.

Shen Lanxue couldn't help but turn his head away, his ears filled with the warm breath from Lu Hechi's breathing and talking.

"...Don't talk nonsense." Shen Lanxue's fingers gripped the hem of Lu Hechi's pajama top.

Lu Hechi buried his face in the crook of Shen Lanxue's neck, sniffing and nuzzling, his voice coming out muffled: "I'm not talking nonsense."

He let out a sigh. These past few days in the hospital, because of the wound on his arm, he couldn't shower, and Shen Lanxue had been helping him with simple sponge baths every night.

Now, seeing Shen Lanxue all clean and fragrant from his shower, he couldn't help but say, "Ge, I want to shower too."

Shen Lanxue frowned instinctively. "Your arm can't get wet."

Lu Hechi: "I'll just be careful. It won't be a problem."

"The doctor said the cast comes off in a month. I can't go a whole month without showering, right? I'd be filthy."

Shen Lanxue paused. "Then... do you want me to help you?"

Lu Hechi cheered: "Great! Then it's settled!"

A week had passed, and Lu Hechi had grown quite accustomed to his new situation, but being naked in front of Shen Lanxue still made him feel a bit self-conscious.

After all, in the hospital, he'd at least been wearing underwear.

The square showerhead in the bathroom blasted hot water, steam filling the air. Through the hazy white mist, two silhouettes were visible.

Lu Hechi stood under the shower, hot water cascading down over his shoulders. His arm in the cast was stretched out, held away from the water.

"Ge, my back itches a little. Scratch it for me, will you?"

Lu Hechi said, not standing on ceremony.

The moment he'd stripped off, he'd felt a bit lost, but since he'd already been seen completely, he'd pushed those feelings of shame aside.

Shen Lanxue pressed his fingers against his spine, sliding them to the side, asking as he moved: "Here?"

Lu Hechi, sensitive to the touch, couldn't help but flinch, laughing as he said: "A bit higher, more to the left, a little to the right."

"Yeah, yeah, right there."

Shen Lanxue scratched the spot a few times.

Lu Hechi let out a contented sigh.

This shower was torture for Shen Lanxue. His bathrobe was soaked through by splashing water, clinging to him, nearly see-through.

Lu Hechi had been chatting and laughing with him at first, but before long, he turned his head away and said in a hoarse voice: "...Ge, why don't you take yours off too and just wash again."

Wearing it was honestly sexier than being naked.
