Volume 1, Chapter 36 – Myriad-Phenomena Medicinal Garden

The moonlight flowed like water, reflecting the dancing light in Liu Ruyan’s eyes.

She led A-Yao back to their residence and settled her already drowsy Eldest Senior Sister into bed.

As she watched A-Yao sink into sleep, a satisfied smile still lingered on the little girl’s face.

The events of the day had been far too shocking for Liu Ruyan.

Gu Luoli was now her junior sister, while Yun Miaoyi was an elder of the Immortal Palace. Everything felt like a dream.

Yet after truly entering this Immortal Palace, personally witnessing Master’s unfathomable methods, and seeing one fellow disciple after another possess heaven-shaking talent, all of that somehow seemed insignificant.

Her horizons were gradually broadening.

“What Master intends to build is probably not merely a sect that dominates a single region, but a supreme Dao lineage whose name will shake the entire continent!”

Liu Ruyan’s heart pounded rapidly.

Her Eldest Senior Sister’s mysterious origins, her Third Junior Sister’s heaven-defying double pupils, and Elder Yun’s terrifying talent in the Alchemical Dao…

Compared with these fellow disciples around her, Liu Ruyan’s own “talent” did not seem particularly outstanding.

“Cultivation! I must improve my cultivation as quickly as possible!”

Blazing fighting spirit ignited in Liu Ruyan’s eyes.

Without any further hesitation, she immediately closed her eyes, focused her mind, and began cultivating.

Her consciousness soon sank deeply into cultivation.

The night passed quietly.

When the first faint light of dawn shone through the window lattice and fell upon Liu Ruyan, she slowly exhaled a long breath.

A sharp gleam flashed through her eyes and vanished. Her aura had become slightly more condensed than it had been the previous night.

“It is time to prepare breakfast for Eldest Senior Sister.”

Liu Ruyan rose, stretched her limbs, and revealed a gentle smile.

Looking after A-Yao was a task Master had entrusted to her, but it was also something she sincerely enjoyed doing.

When she entered A-Yao’s room carrying carefully prepared spiritual rice porridge and several light side dishes, the little girl had already put on her dress by herself.

She sat at the edge of the bed, hugging the Flowing-Light Lotus Platform while swinging her little feet back and forth.

“Second Junior Sister! You’re here!”

A-Yao’s eyes lit up when she saw her, and she called out in a clear, childish voice.

“Good morning, Eldest Senior Sister.”

Liu Ruyan smiled as she placed the food box on the table. She walked over and straightened A-Yao’s slightly crooked hair bun.

“Come and eat. I made your favorite spiritual rice porridge today.”

“Yay!”

A-Yao cheered, put down the lotus platform, and obediently sat at the table.

Watching A-Yao sip her porridge in small mouthfuls, Liu Ruyan felt her heart soften.

“Second Junior Sister, you should eat too!”

A-Yao scooped up a spoonful of porridge and held it to Liu Ruyan’s lips, her large eyes filled with sincerity.

Liu Ruyan froze for a moment. Warmth flowed through her heart as she smiled.

“Thank you, Eldest Senior Sister.”

“You’re welcome! Master-Mother said that good things should be shared!”

A-Yao grinned. She took one bite herself, then insisted on feeding Liu Ruyan the next, enjoying herself immensely.

After their warm breakfast, Liu Ruyan led A-Yao out of the room, intending to take her for a walk around the Immortal Palace to help digest the meal.

They had not gone far when they encountered Gu Luoli, who had also just emerged from Qingyin Pavilion.

“Good morning, Eldest Senior Sister. Good morning, Second Senior Sister.”

Gu Luoli looked even healthier than she had the previous day. Golden light flickered faintly within her double pupils, and every turn of her gaze was bright and spirited.

“Good morning, Third Junior Sister.”

Liu Ruyan replied with a smile. Her gaze swept over Gu Luoli as she praised her inwardly.

Someone born with double pupils was indeed extraordinary. Although they had only begun to awaken, the spiritual charm and bearing they bestowed already far surpassed those of ordinary people.

“Luoli was just about to look for Second Senior Sister.”

Gu Luoli stepped forward and spoke with some embarrassment.

“I am not yet familiar with the Immortal Palace. I wanted to ask Second Senior Sister to show me around so I can learn the paths.”

“Of course. I was just about to take Eldest Senior Sister for a walk as well. Let us go together.”

The three of them set out together, strolling slowly along the shores of Yaochi.

Liu Ruyan patiently explained the functions of the various halls to Gu Luoli, as well as the matters she needed to keep in mind.

A-Yao, meanwhile, ran back and forth ahead of them like a joyful little butterfly.

At times, she crouched down to examine the spiritual herbs beside the path. At others, she pointed excitedly at the fish swimming in the lake.

When they reached an area near the eastern side of the Immortal Palace, a clear and melodious sword cry faintly drifted over from a mist-shrouded mountain peak in the distance.

The sword intent was aloof and transcendent. Even from so far away, it made Gu Luoli’s mind tighten.

“What is that place?”

“That is Snow Moon Peak, the Grand Elder’s cultivation residence.”

Liu Ruyan looked in the direction of Snow Moon Peak, reverence appearing in her eyes.

“The Grand Elder’s mastery of the Sword Dao has reached profound heights, and her cultivation is unfathomable!”

“The Grand Elder…”

Gu Luoli silently committed the title to memory.

For Second Senior Sister to describe her in such terms, and for her to hold the position of Grand Elder, her strength was likely far beyond imagination.

“So all of you are here…”

While they were speaking, a gentle voice came from the side.

The three of them turned and saw Yun Miaoyi approaching gracefully.

She held a jade slip in her hand and seemed to be recording something.

After a night of adjustment, she had gained complete mastery over her newborn body.

“Elder Yun.”

Liu Ruyan and Gu Luoli hurriedly bowed, while A-Yao also greeted her obediently.

“There is no need for such formality.”

Yun Miaoyi smiled and waved a hand. Her gaze swept across the three of them, lingering especially long on Gu Luoli.

“Luoli has recovered well. Your foundation is solid, and the spiritual charm of your double pupils has already emerged. Very good.”

“Thank you for your concern, Elder Yun.”

Gu Luoli replied respectfully.

“I was just examining the Immortal Palace’s earth veins and the distribution of spiritual qi.”

Yun Miaoyi raised the jade slip in her hand.

“The Myriad-Phenomena Medicinal Garden that the Palace Master intends to establish is incomparably profound and can simulate countless environments.”

“I am searching for a nexus where spiritual qi and the earth veins converge. Only by placing it there can its effects be brought to their fullest.”

Liu Ruyan’s heart stirred upon hearing this.

The Myriad-Phenomena Medicinal Garden?

This had to be another supreme treasure belonging to Master. It seemed the Immortal Palace’s Alchemy Pavilion would soon begin operating officially.

“Does Elder Yun require any assistance?” Liu Ruyan asked of her own accord.

“Not for the time being.”

Yun Miaoyi smiled.

“This matter cannot be rushed. Continue with what you were doing. I still need to inspect several other places.”

With that, she continued walking toward the depths of the Immortal Palace.

“Elder Yun will surely become one of the great pillars of our Immortal Palace in the future.”

Liu Ruyan watched her departing figure and sighed with admiration.
