Chapter 100 Operating on Yaoniang in the Space
Chapter 100 Operating on Yaoniang in the Space
Chapter 100: Using the Space to Perform Surgery on Yaoniang
Ji Yuntang yelled "Scram!" at the servants and immediately rushed to Yaoniang's side, crouching to check on her.
Ji Yuntang first lifted her eyelids to look at her pupils, then checked her mouth and nasal passages.
The more she examined, the deeper she frowned.
She only had bruises on her body and face, but some injuries couldn't be seen with the naked eye.
She was vomiting blood uncontrollably; if Ji Yuntang wasn't mistaken, this meant she was bleeding internally.
Yaoniang had already hemorrhaged severely during childbirth and barely made it through. Her body hadn't healed yet, and now she was seriously injured by Liu Linlang.
If surgery wasn't performed immediately, not even a god could save her.
Earlier, Ji Yuntang had only focused on having Taozhi tend to Yaoniang's facial injuries; she hadn't realized she was so badly hurt.
"Princess, why don't I go fetch a doctor? Or I could ask the Ninth Princess to send an imperial physician," Taozhi said, her eyes red with tears and brimming with anxiety, almost crying.
Although she hadn't known Yaoniang long, she knew she was a sincere and strong-willed woman.
Plus, Xiao Qiyue was so young; if anything happened to Yaoniang, how would the child survive?
Ji Yuntang pressed her lips tightly together, her face grave. "There's no time. First, help her back to the room. I'm going to operate on her."
Afraid Xiao Qiyue might see the scene, they worked together to support Yaoniang back to Taozhi's room. Ji Yuntang glanced at Nanny Xu and Liu Linlang, who lay in the yard like dead dogs, and coldly ordered Taozhi.
"Nanny Xu and Liu Linlang won't wake up for a while. Later, have someone lock them in the woodshed. Don't let them see a doctor, and don't give them food or water. Wait until I come out to deal with them."
"As for the Prince, go and tell him the situation. Say that Yaoniang is seriously injured and I'm treating her. It will probably take six to eight hours to finish. Tell him not to worry, to eat well, and that I'll come see him later."
"And for Xiao Qiyue and Chen Hu, before I come out, please take care of them. I'm counting on you."
Having said that, Ji Yuntang suddenly thought of something. She turned her back to Taozhi and took out a can of milk powder from the supermarket.
"This is milk powder for infants. If Xiao Qiyue gets hungry later, scoop out three or four spoonfuls into a bottle, mix it with warm water, and feed it to her."
Given Yaoniang's condition, she wouldn't be able to nurse for at least two weeks. Adults could go hungry without eating, but an infant couldn't.
Ji Yuntang gave thorough instructions on everything she could think of, then closed the door behind her.
"Don't worry, Princess, I'll do as you say," Taozhi said, her resolve growing stronger.
Now that something had happened to the West Courtyard, besides the Princess, she was the only able-bodied and clear-minded person left. The Princess trusted her.
She would not disappoint that trust.
Yaoniang had already gone into hemorrhagic shock, so Ji Yuntang directly transferred her into the space hospital.
She first gave Yaoniang an antibiotic injection, then inserted an oxygen tube to ensure she could breathe smoothly.
Next, she performed an MRI, drew blood, and performed a series of tests.
The results were mostly as Ji Yuntang had expected, showing that Yaoniang's spleen had been ruptured by an external force, causing moderate internal hemorrhaging that required immediate surgery and a blood transfusion.
Yaoniang had type B blood. Ji Yuntang went to the blood bank and found exactly 1,000 ml of type B blood there.
She immediately started a blood transfusion via IV drip and then began preparing for the surgery.
The spleen is the largest peripheral lymphatic organ in the human body and has immune regulatory functions.
For patients with massive splenic bleeding, a splenectomy was the only way to save their lives.
Ji Yuntang's expression was serious. If she could preserve Yaoniang's spleen during the surgery, she would do her utmost to avoid removal.
If not, she would have to play it by ear.
The large overhead surgical light was turned on. Ji Yuntang gave Yaoniang an anesthetic, put on a surgical gown and gloves, and began performing the surgery with complete focus.
The surgery lasted for eight hours, with Ji Yuntang's nerves on edge the entire time. She had completely lost track of time.
Finally, through her tireless efforts, Yaoniang's spleen was saved.
Ji Yuntang breathed a sigh of relief, but her whole body collapsed onto the floor from exhaustion.
When she woke up, an hour had passed.
Ji Yuntang didn't rush to move Yaoniang out of the space. She had just had surgery and still had an oxygen tank and tubes attached; she needed to be observed overnight.
Ji Yuntang drank a cup of spiritual spring water, regained some strength, and then exited the space in a flash.
Outside, the night was deep. The moon shone high overhead, casting hazy shadows.
Ji Yuntang checked the time. It was already the Chou hour, which was two in the morning.
It was so late. She wondered if Luo Junhe was already asleep.
She hadn't seen him all day, and she really missed him.
She crept over, planning to take a quiet look. If Luo Junhe was asleep, she wouldn't disturb him.
Unexpectedly, just as she got within three steps of the door, Luo Junhe's deep, magnetic voice rang out.
"Ah Tang, is that you?"
"The door isn't closed. Come in!"
Ji Yuntang noticed that Luo Junhe had left the door ajar for her.
Through the gap, she could see the candles inside still burning.
Afraid they'd go out, Luo Junhe had asked Taozhi to light extra candles.
Originally, there were only four candles in the room, but now there were ten in total.
Luo Junhe didn't do this for himself—since he couldn't see anyway, the number of candles didn't matter to him.
He was just afraid that if Ji Yuntang came out and thought he was asleep, she wouldn't come to see him.
He missed her. Even just hearing her voice was enough for him.
Ji Yuntang pushed the door open and walked in, seeing Luo Junhe still propped against the headboard, wearing a white inner shirt with his lean chest partially bare.
A bit awkwardly, she asked, "Ah He, it's so late, why are you still awake?"
"I was waiting for you."
These four short words seemed to carry endless worry and longing.
Luo Junhe's voice was gentle as he reached out his hand to Ji Yuntang. "A Tang, come here, let me hug you."
Ji Yuntang's gaze fell on his slender, jade-like fingers, and she silently marveled at how truly beautiful his hands were.
Just by looking at them, she could imagine Luo Junhe holding a long sword, bravely charging into battle.
So bloody, and she loved it.
Ji Yuntang hesitated no longer, stepping forward two paces and placing her hand in Luo Junhe's broad palm.
In an instant, her small hand was enveloped by his large palm, and she was pulled into his embrace.
Luo Junhe held her tightly, burying his face in the hollow of her neck, breathing in the peach blossom scent of the young woman. His voice inexplicably grew husky.
"A Tang, I missed you so much, so much."
