Chapter 130 Slapping Ji Huaiche
Chapter 130 Slapping Ji Huaiche
"Chen Hu, don't you talk crap! You're on Princess Ye's side, so of course you'd speak for her. I don't acknowledge any of these things you've said. My daughter wouldn't even dare kill a chicken, so how could she possibly murder anyone?"
"Is that so?"
"What if I, the Princess, have proof that Liu Linlang has committed countless evil deeds and killed many people in the Prince Ye's Mansion over the years?"
Ji Yuntang smirked coldly, and out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a familiar figure among the onlookers at the door.
It was none other than Bi Chi, Liu Linlang's most capable personal maid and one of her accomplices in doing all sorts of bad deeds.
Bi Chi had gone all out with her disguise today, smearing junk on her face to turn her seventeen-year-old face into that of a seventy-year-old man.
Hunched back and all, wearing a coarse black cloth garment, leaning on a cane, with a fake white mustache pasted under her nose.
Ji Yuntang noticed "him" because the mustache was crooked, making a figure-eight shape, exposing the black star-shaped mole at the corner of Bi Chi's mouth.
Moreover, the woman kept craning her neck to watch, totally unlike the regular gossipy bystanders.
After all, Ji Yuntang hadn't spotted such an old and nosy civilian around.
After watching closely, Ji Yuntang decided this white-bearded old man was shady.
When Nanny Xu heard that, she flinched in fear first.
But she quickly figured out that Ji Yuntang, that bitch, was probably bluffing her.
Liu Linlang was dead, and so were the servants she'd tortured to death—dead and gone, no one to testify. What evidence could she possibly find?
She didn't buy it for a second.
Seeing Nanny Xu hang her head and keep quiet, clearly scared by Ji Yuntang, Ji Huaiche, playing the righteous hero, comforted her:
"Nanny Xu, don't be afraid. In the Court of Justice, she wouldn't dare touch you."
Then he darkened his face and said sternly to Ji Yuntang: "Then please, Princess Ye, present your evidence!"
"If you can't produce evidence and try to fool us, Assistant Minister Xu has the right to charge you!"
Xu Muyan frowned, feeling that Ji Huaiche—usually so reserved and polite—was way too impatient today.
After all, she was his own sister, but Ji Huaiche always had this weird hostility toward her.
Totally different from how he treated the other Miss Ji of the family.
Ji Yuntang thought Ji Huaiche was a total hypocrite. Xu Muyan hadn't said a word, but Ji Huaiche blurted it all out and pinned it on him.
With a subordinate like that, Ji Yuntang figured Xu Muyan must have a rough time at the Court of Justice too.
After all, in terms of family, Xu Muyan was nowhere near Ji Huaiche’s level.
But in official rank, he was still above Ji Huaiche. Given how arrogant Ji Huaiche was, there's no way he'd really obey Xu Muyan.
"Then open your eyes wide, Heir Ji, and watch carefully!"
With that, Ji Yuntang strode to the entrance of the Court of Justice, reached in, and yanked someone out.
Bi Chi was startled but reacted fast, clutching her chest and coughing violently.
She coughed like she was about to hack up a lung.
All an act, of course.
The confused crowd backed up a bit. But Ji Huaiche stomped out furiously, pointing at Ji Yuntang and yelling.
"Princess Ye, what kind of performance is this?"
"Can't you see this old man is about to pass out from coughing? What’re you grabbing his hand for?!"
"Men and women shouldn't be touching! Grabbing and dragging an old man in front of everyone—do you have any shame?"
The moment he finished—"Slap!"
Ji Yuntang’s free hand smacked him straight across the face.
Five clear fingerprints appeared, stunning everyone there.
Heir Ji got slapped by his own sister?
And at his job, in front of all his colleagues and subordinates—how embarrassing!
This drama just kept getting juicier.
Ji Yuntang felt that Ji Huaiche and Ji Qingfeng were cut from the same cloth. At the last medical competition, Ji Qingfeng said the exact same thing and got slapped by her too.
Now Ji Huaiche was replaying a similar scene.
They didn't care about her at all, yet they came to lecture her like a big brother—so narcissistic and ridiculous!
Ji Yuntang blew on her palm, which stung a little, and blinked innocently: "Heir Ji, what's your skincare routine? You hurt my hand. Don’t you owe my hand an apology?"
Ji Huaiche: "..."
Ji Huaiche: "!!!"
He was the one who got hit, he was the one who got hurt, and he hadn't said anything. Yet Ji Yuntang wanted him to apologize to her hand?
What was so precious about her hand?
"Ji Yuntang, don't go too far! Disrupting official law enforcement and assaulting an imperial official in the Court of Justice will land you in jail!"
He then turned to Xu Muyan and said in a commanding tone:
"Ji Yuntang has attacked a subordinate official, and everyone here saw it. I ask Assistant Minister Xu to send someone to arrest Princess Ye."
Ji Yuntang sniffled, showing no sign of regret for her actions.
"Lord Xu, hold on. Let me say a few words. I slapped Heir Ji just now because he not only insulted me but also falsely accused me, saying that I was pulling and dragging an old man in front of everyone."
"Yes, I was pulling and dragging, but how could he claim that the person I pulled was an old man?"
"That insults my eyesight and ruins my reputation. My slap on him was not unjust!"
Ji Huaiche: "..."
Xu Muyan: "..."
He mulled over what Ji Yuntang had said and his gaze fell on the old man she was clutching.
Even after the earlier commotion, Ji Yuntang's hand still firmly grasped the old man, not letting go for a moment.
Xu Muyan felt that Ji Yuntang might have discovered something.
Bi Chi was panicking like crazy. She kept her head down, coughing incessantly, not daring to open her mouth.
Because if she so much as opened her mouth, her voice would surely give her away.
But Ji Yuntang's hand was like steel, gripping her tight, leaving no chance for her to slip away in the chaos.
Bi Chi felt that her arm might have already been swollen from Ji Yuntang's pinching, and her wrist throbbed with pain.
Now she regretted it, deeply regretted it.
If she had known any better, she wouldn't have come to the Dali Temple to get caught up in this mess.
Originally, Bi Chi had secretly stashed some silver and jewelry from the Prince Ye's mansion on her, planning to slip out of the capital today while Ji Yuntang was away.
