Chapter 209 The Runaway Trio
Chapter 209: The Escape Trio
Although the sound was very light and faint, Ji Yuntang still detected it sharply.
She narrowed her eyes and quickly stepped forward to stop Luo Sinian.
"Stop kicking. Someone's coming."
Luo Sinian froze, his brain slow to catch up, and he blurted out, "Ah, who's coming?"
Ji Yuntang rolled her eyes. "Forget who it is, we need to leave quickly. If someone sees you here, this is gonna get ugly!"
The place Luo Feizhou had chosen was somewhat secluded; normally, no guests would come by.
Hearing footsteps now, it was highly likely that one of his goons was coming to check the situation.
Ji Yuntang indeed wanted to teach Luo Feizhou a lesson, but she hadn't planned on dragging Luo Sinian into this right now.
After all, he didn't want any part of this anyway.
The footsteps outside grew closer. Ji Yuntang looked up at the big hole in the ceiling and said, "Quick, out the window."
Luo Sinian didn't hesitate and opened the carved nanmu window of Baixiang Tower. Outside the window was a quiet alley, usually only frequented by vendors delivering vegetables or wine to the restaurant in the morning, so there was no one around at this hour.
They weren't worried about being discovered.
"Third Royal Sister-in-law, maybe you should go first..." Luo Sinian was about to let Ji Yuntang go first when he turned and saw her pull out a silver needle and prick Luo Feizhou a few times.
Finally, she stuffed something into his mouth.
He caught Ji Yuntang whispering something in Luo Feizhou's ear, but the wind at the window was too strong, and Luo Sinian couldn't make it out.
After Ji Yuntang finished everything, she turned to see Luo Sinian still standing there like a dummy. She frowned.
"Why aren't you jumping? Afraid of heights?"
She glanced down; it was the second floor, not that high.
"Forget it, I'll go first. You cover the rear."
With that, Ji Yuntang leaped out the window without a second thought.
"Knock, knock, knock."
Just then, a knock came at the door, and Qing Feng's voice sounded.
"Your Highness, it's getting late. You still have to buy Consort Chu's birthday gift. When will you return to the residence?"
This was just a probing remark.
Because Qing Feng knew that tomorrow was not actually Consort Chu's birthday; he was just playing along with Luo Feizhou's excuse.
He had originally been waiting outside for Luo Feizhou to come out, but the longer he waited, the more something felt off. It had been nearly half an hour now—since when did their prince take this long?
Qing Feng thought something was wrong, so he steeled himself and came over to see if Luo Feizhou was inside.
After all, Ji Yuntang gave him the creeps, and he was afraid Luo Feizhou would get screwed over by her.
"Your Highness, can you hear me?"
He knocked again, and Qing Feng's hesitant voice came through. He knew disturbing Luo Feizhou might lead to punishment, but it was way better than losing his own head if something happened to his prince.
Luo Sinian was about to jump down after Ji Yuntang, but after he saw her figure, he suddenly wanted to buy her more time to escape.
Remembering what Ji Yuntang had shown him earlier, he first pictured how Luo Feizhou usually talked, then how he'd talk to a servant in a situation like this.
So he squeezed his throat, took a breath, mimicked Luo Feizhou's voice, and bellowed at the door: "Get lost! I'm busy here! Don't disturb me!"
Realizing there was one sound he couldn't fake, Luo Sinian thought for a moment, crept over to Luo Feizhou, and gave him two solid kicks right in the family jewels.
Then he rattled the bed hard.
Instantly, creaking sounds mixed with moans—whether from pleasure or pain—came from inside. Hearing that, Qing Feng's face went bright red.
He figured: Their prince was really going at it today, huh? And his voice even sounded kinda gentle?
Luo Feizhou really earned his rep as a man who could go a full half hour.
But then he recalled that Luo Feizhou had taken a pill today; perhaps the effect hadn't worn off yet.
Qing Feng shut up and moved back a bit.
Hearing no more noise from outside, Luo Sinian finally jumped down from the second-floor window.
When he landed, he saw Ji Yuntang still waiting for him. Luo Sinian felt a wave of warmth.
Ji Yuntang asked, puzzled, "What were you doing up there? What took you so long? I was about to go back up and look for you."
Remembering what he'd done, Luo Sinian's face reddened, and he looked sheepish. 'Nothing. Let's go. It won't be long before they figure out Luo Feizhou's in trouble.'
Ji Yuntang dropped it and took off with Luo Sinian.
They steered clear of the busy streets and crowds, sticking to deserted alleys.
Even so, someone spotted them.
And that someone was none other than Xie Liuzheng.
Xie Liuzheng was chewing on a blade of grass. He had originally just found a tree to sleep on, but when footsteps caught his ear, he glanced down out of habit.
And that one look let him spot Ji Yuntang and Luo Sinian.
Xie Liuzheng thought: Since when are those two so chummy?
Wasn't Prince Chen the one who couldn't stand Princess Ye?
But looking at them now, it seemed like they were fleeing for their lives?
Seeing them tear off and vanish in a flash, Xie Liuzheng, driven by his love for stirring up trouble, immediately used his Lightness Skill to chase after them.
They moved swiftly, and even without Internal Energy, Ji Yuntang was not at all slower.
Thus, what had been a two-person escape team quickly turned into three.
When Ji Yuntang realized someone was following, she was startled, but upon seeing it was Xie Liuzheng, she relaxed and focused on running.
Xie Liuzheng caught up and asked, "Why are you running?"
Ji Yuntang: "We're in trouble!"
Luo Sinian: "We beat up Luo Feizhou."
"Beat him within an inch of his life, his face black and blue, two teeth knocked out, and drew a turtle on him and carved the words 'I'm a scumbag'. If we don't get out of here now, Prince Qi's lackeys will catch up!"
Xie Liuzheng: "..."
Xie Liuzheng: "!!!"
His pupils dilated slightly, first in shock, then in ecstasy and excitement.
"That exciting, huh? Why didn't you call me, the heir, to join in beating up Prince Qi? I want to give him a couple of kicks too, make him question his whole life."
Ji Yuntang: "..."
Something to brag about?
She knew Xie Liuzheng was a playboy, but she didn't expect him to be such a playboy.
You don't go looking for this kind of trouble, young man!
But Luo Sinian already seemed used to Xie Liuzheng's irresponsible attitude and penchant for stirring up trouble.
