Chapter 372: Beauty Bath
"Now I finally know who the Crown Prince and Prince Qi learned their stinginess from. Your father is a proper cheapskate—both stingy and wicked."
"But I got lucky today. I made him shell out big time."
"Hm?" Luo Junhe turned his head to look at her, and Ji Yuntang described everything that had happened that day, along with all the rewards she had received.
Just from listening to her, Luo Junhe could tell that Ji Yuntang had once again brushed past the gates of death.
"A Tang, sometimes I feel like I must have piled up a ton of good karma in my past life to be lucky enough to marry such an incredible wife in this one."
Ji Yuntang smiled. "Come on, let's go eat. After we finish, we'll try out the golden bath tub your father bestowed today."
"Soaking in a golden tub with my handsome man by my side—just thinking about it makes me drool!"
Luo Junhe listened to her raunchy talk and felt his handsome face flush red, his palms burning too.
He cleared his throat, pushed down the excitement bubbling inside him, and quickly changed the subject.
"Ahem, I'll have them bring out the food."
After the two finished their meal, Ji Yuntang actually dragged Luo Junhe off for a bath!
She had Tao Zhi fill the golden tub with water and scatter flower petals on top, then started stripping right in front of Luo Junhe.
Luo Junhe: "..."
Luo Junhe: "!!!"
He knew he shouldn't look, but his eyes couldn't help but drift toward Ji Yuntang.
Ji Yuntang walked behind the folding screen, and the mirror showed off her graceful figure, her jade-like body barely visible through the mist, tracing a perfect curve.
Luo Junhe felt a surge of heat in his chest, and blood started trickling from his nose.
He reached up to touch it, and his hand came away covered in blood.
Ji Yuntang came out wearing only a sheer robe. She turned and caught Luo Junhe tilting his head back, hand over his nose, face bright red.
The moment Luo Junhe saw her, he hastily explained, "A Tang, don't misunderstand. I've just been eating too much rich food lately—I'm running a bit hot."
After saying this, he noticed her clothes were sheer and clinging to her body, and he whipped his head away again, covering his nose with a straight face.
Ji Yuntang: "..."
She hadn't even asked him anything, and he was already explaining himself?
His self-explanation made him look pretty guilty.
Wasn't this just a thief turning himself in without being asked?
Ji Yuntang found it amusing. She swung a leg over and sat down on his lap, her slender fingers trailing across Luo Junhe's chest.
"A He, you're running hot—want me to help cool you down?"
Luo Junhe: "..."
Luo Junhe: "!!!"
He felt the blood gushing from his nose even faster!
If he let her cool him down, he feared he'd bleed out and die.
He'd go down in history as the first prince to die from a nosebleed.
Luo Junhe's face was flushed, and he didn't dare look at Ji Yuntang. "No need. I'll just have something to cool down tomorrow."
He could only watch, tempted by her, but unable to do a thing—pure torture.
Ji Yuntang gave him a sultry look, her fingertip drawing lazy circles on Luo Junhe's neck.
"A He, are you sure you don't need my help?"
"My medical skills are top-notch. One poke and you'll be good as new."
Luo Junhe: "..."
Before he could react, he felt a sharp sting at his neck, and the warm, soft body in his arms was gone.
"There, nosebleed's stopped. Hurry up and wipe the blood off your hands!"
A handkerchief with a girl's scent pressed against his face, and Luo Junhe reached up to take it.
When he looked up, Ji Yuntang had already stepped into the golden tub.
Her smooth, jade-like back was slick with hot water, her ink-black hair spilling down her back. She closed her eyes, soaking in the warmth.
Her clear, sweet voice rang out, "A He, you can't use this rose bath. I've already had Wang Sheng get a medicinal bath ready for you. When you head out, you can soak in that."
"Same as always—soak for an hour, and if the water cools, keep topping it up with hot water."
Luo Junhe felt a lump in his throat, his handsome face twisting in disbelief.
So, from the start, his little princess had never planned to soak with him?
So all that blood he just lost—was it all for nothing?
Thinking about it, he shot Ji Yuntang a resentful look.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door, and Wang Sheng's voice came through.
"Your Highness, your medicinal bath is ready. Want me to push you out?"
Luo Junhe turned and saw Ji Yuntang stretch out her pale, slender arm, grab the bath oil from the wooden rack beside her, and squeeze some out to rub over her chest.
She rubbed it in with her hands, working up a thick lather.
Water droplets slid down her chest, and every move she made was pure temptation.
Luo Junhe's eyes darkened. He jerked his head away, refusing to look at her.
His Adam's apple bobbed as he spoke in a hoarse voice, "No need. I'll come out on my own."
How could he let anyone else in to see this? His little princess—only he got to look at her.
Luo Junhe turned his wheelchair himself and made his way to the door.
Ji Yuntang was bathing in the inner chamber, separated by a wall and a carved screen, so Luo Junhe wasn't worried about Wang Sheng seeing anything.
After leaving, he summoned Hong Xiu and instructed, "The princess is bathing inside. She doesn't like being waited on, so you wait outside the door. If she needs anything, then you may enter."
Hong Xiu curtsied and replied, "Yes, Your Highness."
Luo Junhe then went to another room to soak in a medicinal bath.
Sitting in the tub, his mind was filled with images of Ji Yuntang bathing that refused to fade no matter how hard he tried.
Since he couldn't shake them, he gave up and sat down to meditate, thinking of Ji Yuntang.
Ji Yuntang finished her bath and came out, but Luo Junhe was still not done. She stretched her limbs and said lazily, "This golden tub is great for a soak. I gotta say, the emperor really knows how to enjoy life."
Luo Junhe emerged half an hour later.
He returned to the room and found Ji Yuntang already asleep, her steady breathing filling the room.
He gazed at her stunning face for a moment, and all his frustration could only melt into a doting sigh.
Finally, Luo Junhe just held Ji Yuntang and fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, dawn broke with a faint light.
Ji Yuntang got up and opened the window to find that snow had fallen in the courtyard overnight.
The blue-tiled eaves were coated with a layer of white, and the plum trees by the wall were piled with thick snow, their branches creaking softly under the weight of the snow.
The whole world was draped in silver and white, breathtakingly beautiful.
Ji Baiyi and the two ducks were frolicking in the yard, having a wonderful time.
Since the snow had stopped and there was nothing pressing to do that day, Ji Yuntang hosted a banquet at Prince Ye's residence, inviting her good friends Xie Liuzheng, Luo Qingge, Luo Sinian, and Pei Zhiyi to come and visit.
Xie Liuzheng had been wanting to discuss business matters with Ji Yuntang anyway, so upon receiving the invitation, he rushed right over!
