Chapter 473 Hua Feixue’s Revenge

Her expression fell, and she said with a hint of sadness, "Does the Crown Prince really trust a lying fake over me?"

"I truly don't know any Hua Feixue, nor have I gone home with another man. The Crown Prince is the first."

Hua Feixue turned to look at Ji Qingqing, "I wonder what I did to offend Second Miss Ji that you're so set on pinning this on me?"

Ji Qingqing sneered. Hua Feixue's attitude made her think she must be feeling guilty and was now trying to change the subject.

"Hua Feixue, stop pretending. If you really have a clear conscience, do you dare let the Crown Prince check behind your ears?"

Hua Feixue didn't answer Ji Qingqing. Instead, she slowly walked up to Luo Jingshen, gazing at him with tearful, pleading eyes.

She asked, "Crown Prince, do you really want to look behind my ears?"

Luo Jingshen's gaze flickered, his eyes dark and unreadable. After a moment, he took Hua Feixue's hand and said gently to her:

"Xuehua, of course I believe you're the real deal, but for your own sake, I think we should verify."

"Besides, it's just a quick look at your ears. Won't take long."

His voice was incredibly gentle, but only Luo Jingshen knew the truth—he didn't trust anyone.

He recalled suspecting there was a mole in the Eastern Palace a few days ago. That night, when he was speaking with Linchuan, Hua Feixue just happened to be outside the window, and Linchuan caught her red-handed.

He didn't know what Hua Feixue had overheard, only that she had stayed in his room that night, and the two of them had gotten intimate.

But Luo Jingshen couldn't remember a thing about that night.

This made him wonder if Hua Feixue really had some other motive for staying by his side.

Once that seed of doubt was planted, he couldn't shake it off.

Hua Feixue's heart sank. Luckily, she'd changed a few things when she swapped from Hua Feixue to Xuehua.

One of those things was the crescent-shaped scar behind her ear.

The scar was from when Empress Dowager Yuan pushed her as a kid, and her ear hit a vase.

Hua Feixue hated it, so she asked Ji Yuntang for some scar-removal ointment, and after a few days of applying it, the scar was gone!

And now, that scar had indeed made Ji Qingqing suspicious.

Hua Feixue snapped back to the present and said to Luo Jingshen, "If the Crown Prince wants to check, then go ahead and check. But I have one request."

Luo Jingshen quickly said, "Xuehua, if you have a request, just say it. If I can make it happen, I will."

He was also afraid he might be wrong about her. As long as Hua Feixue cooperated, what was one little request?

Hua Feixue said, "If the Crown Prince's examination proves I'm not Hua Feixue, then let me spend some time alone with Second Miss Ji. I have something I want to say to her in private."

"But if it turns out I really am Hua Feixue and I've been deceiving you, then I'll accept whatever punishment you see fit."

Luo Jingshen agreed without even thinking twice, "Alright, I agree."

Hua Feixue sneered to herself and turned around so he could check her ears.

Luo Jingshen pulled both of Hua Feixue's ears apart and examined them closely, front and back, but found no crescent-shaped scar like Ji Qingqing had described.

He let out a sigh of relief, then turned to Ji Qingqing in anger, "How dare you frame my woman! Where's the crescent-shaped scar behind Xuehua's ears you were talking about?"

Ji Qingqing was stunned. She cried out in disbelief, "No, that's impossible! I saw that scar behind her ear with my own eyes. How could it not be there?"

Luo Jingshen got even angrier. He'd almost wronged his little Xuehua, and it was all that bitch Ji Qingqing's fault.

"Even with your back against the wall, you still dare to make excuses. Ji Qingqing, there's not a single truthful word that comes out of your mouth. You'll come up with any excuse to frame someone. I really underestimated you!"

Luo Jingshen's taunts made Ji Qingqing's heart ache so much she started sobbing.

Once upon a time, the two of them—a handsome man and a beautiful woman—walking side by side, were the envy of everyone.

But how had it come to this? Luo Jingshen didn't have even a shred of trust in her anymore!

Just then, the imperial physician came over with a bowl of medicine and said respectfully, "Crown Prince, the abortion medicine you asked for is ready."

Luo Jingshen immediately ordered, "Take it in and make her drink it herself."

The physician carried the medicine in and offered it to Ji Qingqing with both hands, "Second Miss Ji, drink it while it's hot!"

Ji Qingqing was stunned at first, then broke down crying, big tears streaming down her face.

She dropped to her knees and crawled over to Luo Jingshen.

"No, I won't drink it! Crown Prince, I'm begging you, spare our child! He's innocent!"

Luo Jingshen only felt disgust. He couldn't muster any sympathy for Ji Qingqing's current state.

Just looking at her made him sick to his stomach.

"He's innocent, but you're not. With a mother like you, keeping this child would only be a curse."

"Physician, force it down her throat."

The physician hesitated, holding the medicine. After all, he was a man, and there were rules about men and women!

Having him force-feed Ji Qingqing the medicine just didn't feel right.

Seeing this, Hua Feixue stepped forward and said, "Crown Prince, the physician is getting up there in years. It wouldn't be appropriate for him to feed Second Miss Ji the medicine."

"What if Second Miss Ji doesn't cooperate and goes crazy, hurting the physician?"

"Why not let me do it? I'm a woman, and I'm strong enough to get the medicine down her throat."

Hua Feixue practically spat out the words "feed the medicine" through gritted teeth.

Before Luo Jingshen could even agree, Hua Feixue had already taken the bowl from the physician.

The physician shot her a grateful look and backed out.

Hua Feixue then said to Luo Jingshen, "Crown Prince, I can handle feeding her the medicine alone. There's no point in so many people staying here. After the abortion, the dirty blood from her body might offend the eyes of the Crown Prince and all the officials."

"So, for the Crown Prince's sake, you and all the officials should step out first."

Luo Jingshen didn't move, but a hint of concern crossed his face.

"Xuehua, how about I stay here with you?"

Hua Feixue smiled at him, "No need. I can handle it alone. If the Crown Prince is really worried, after Second Miss Ji is done with the abortion, you can have the physician come in and check her pulse."

Then she added, "The Crown Prince just promised to let me spend some time alone with Second Miss Ji. Surely you wouldn't go back on such a small request?"

Luo Jingshen quickly explained, "No, I was just worried you might get the short end of the stick."
