Chapter 474 Confession and Provocation
Chapter 474 Confession and Provocation
"Don't worry, Your Highness the Crown Prince."
Hearing Hua Feixue say this, Luo Jingshen no longer insisted. He left with one final remark.
"Very well, I'll be right outside. If anything happens, call out for me loudly."
Hua Feixue watched Luo Jingshen leave. After everyone had left the prison cell, she turned her gaze to Ji Qingqing, who was kneeling on the ground.
She paced slowly around Ji Qingqing, a dazzling smile curving her crimson lips—part mockery, part sneer.
"Tsk tsk, who would have thought that the Second Miss Ji, once the darling of the entire Marquis Yongning household and so high and mighty, would end up like this."
"Isn't this what they call karma?"
Ji Qingqing looked up at Hua Feixue, and the mockery in the other woman's eyes cut her deep. She snarled, "What exactly do you want?"
Hua Feixue's red lips curled slightly as she let out a light laugh. "I don't want anything. I'm here on the Crown Prince's orders to make you drink the abortion medicine."
"Second Miss Ji, are you going to drink it yourself, or do I have to force it down your throat?"
Hearing this, Ji Qingqing immediately shot to her feet and hid in the corner.
She screamed, her eyes red, "I won't drink it! This is our first child—how could the Crown Prince bear to kill our child?"
"You're not really Xuehua—you're Hua Feixue in disguise! You might fool the Crown Prince, but you can't fool me!"
While Ji Qingqing screamed hysterically, Hua Feixue stayed perfectly calm.
She smirked nonchalantly. "You're right, I am Hua Feixue in disguise. But so what? Do you see the Crown Prince believing you?"
"He's dying to get rid of you and that child, because to him, you're nothing but a stain on his reputation. How could he let his shame keep living in this world?"
Ji Qingqing leaned against the wall, tears streaming down her face. She shook her head in disbelief. "No, that's impossible. The Crown Prince once loved me so much—how could he want to kill me?"
Then she looked at Hua Feixue and said viciously, "It's you. You set me up."
"Hua Feixue, what tricks did you pull to seduce the Crown Prince? And what are you really after, staying by his side?"
Hua Feixue looked at her with a dark, unreadable gaze. "Ridiculous. Do I even need tricks to win him over?"
"He doesn't even bother to be picky, and he still picked trash like you. I'm prettier and have a better body than you—why would he pick you over me?"
"And that second brother of yours, Ji Qingfeng—he looks all proper on the surface, playing the gentleman, but underneath, he's just a hypocritical little weasel."
"He had his eye on my looks and wanted me for himself, but he wouldn't spend a dime and wanted it for free. Since when is anything free in this world?"
"So I taught the people of your Marquis Yongning household a lesson they'll never forget."
Ji Qingqing wanted nothing more than to kill Hua Feixue on the spot. Now that the woman had admitted it, she wanted to dig for more info to tattle to Luo Jingshen later.
If she was going down, she'd take Hua Feixue down with her.
She demanded, "What did you do to my family?"
Hua Feixue saw right through Ji Qingqing's little scheme but didn't take the bait.
Instead, she smiled at Ji Qingqing and raised the bowl of medicine.
"You wanna know? Drink this, and I'll tell you."
Ji Qingqing's pupils shrank. She instinctively reached out to knock the bowl away, but Hua Feixue grabbed her arm in a flash.
Hua Feixue sneered coldly. "Save your little tricks. This is the abortion medicine the Crown Prince had the imperial physician brew just for you. You think you can handle the consequences if you knock it over?"
"Or maybe you'd rather I pour it down your throat myself? That works for me too."
The next second, Hua Feixue let go of Ji Qingqing's wrist and grabbed her chin instead. She picked up the bowl and moved to pour it down her throat.
Ji Qingqing was horrified. She struggled desperately, her voice muffled and slurred. "Hua Feixue, how dare you!"
"If you dare force this down my throat, I'll tell the Crown Prince you're a fraud, that you're just using him for your own agenda. Then you're dead too!"
"Enough with the yapping!" Hua Feixue couldn't be bothered with Ji Qingqing's blabbering. She squeezed her jaw hard, forcing her mouth open, and dumped the whole bowl down her throat.
Ji Qingqing thrashed wildly, whimpering and trying to spit it out, but most of it still went down her throat.
When she was done, Hua Feixue let go of Ji Qingqing and tossed the bowl aside. Ji Qingqing stuck her fingers down her throat, trying to throw up the medicine.
"Don't bother. Once it's in your stomach, what's the point of throwing it up now?"
The moment Hua Feixue finished speaking, Ji Qingqing's face twisted in rage and she lunged at her.
"Hua Feixue, I'll kill you!"
But before she could even graze Hua Feixue's clothes, she crumpled to the ground, doubled over in agony.
Ji Qingqing felt wave after wave of warm liquid gushing out of her, the pain making her shake all over.
"My stomach... someone... help..."
Soon, the ground under Ji Qingqing was soaked in pools of blood.
Hua Feixue stood off to the side, watching coldly, not a shred of sympathy in her eyes.
After a long pause, her red lips curled up as she dropped another bombshell on Ji Qingqing.
"Haven't you always wondered how Wu Jinxi's family found out who you really are, and how they ended up in the capital?"
She leaned down and whispered in Ji Qingqing's ear. "Now I'll tell you. You and your mother guessed wrong—I'm the one who wrote to them and told them to come."
Ji Qingqing stared at her, completely stunned. "You... how do you know I'm not really..."
Before she could finish, Hua Feixue interrupted. "How do I know you're not the real legitimate daughter of the Marquis household, but a fake who stole Ji Yuntang's identity?"
"It was your dear second brother who spilled the beans after getting drunk."
"Not only that—he said he'd spoiled you for sixteen years, only for you to turn out to be an ungrateful snake. You stuck your nose in and sabotaged things between your second brother and me, refusing to let him be with me. How could I not hate you for that?"
"Since you wouldn't let your second brother marry me, I had to steal your fiancé instead. If a low-class fake like you could become the Crown Princess, why couldn't I?"
Hua Feixue stood up as she said this, smiling. "Actually, I should thank you."
"If you hadn't been so wary of me, keeping Ji Qingfeng away from my courtyard, I'd never have gotten so fed up with him and fallen for the Crown Prince instead."
