Demon King – Chapter 10 – The Demon Lord Is Gonna Beat Someone Up Today

Before the Demon Lord could even begin her performance, the small warehouse door opened, and several masked men walked in.

“So you’re finally awake. We thought you weren’t going to come around,” one of them said. Even though their expressions were hidden, Eiru could still hear the surprise in their voices.

“Get up then. You’re the last one to wake. Weak constitution, huh…” One of them walked over, grabbed Eiru, and dragged her out of the warehouse.

The last one? Were there other people who were abducted? Eiru immediately changed her plan and decided to observe the situation for now, letting the men lead her away without resistance.

Outside the warehouse, walking down the corridor, Eiru glanced at the surroundings. She figured they were likely inside an abandoned factory. She couldn’t be sure of the exact location until they were out of the building.

As they passed through a couple of workshop areas, Eiru noticed several other masked people standing guard.

After passing through two heavy iron doors, they brought Eiru into another abandoned workshop. Aside from the several masked men stationed there, a few girls without masks were sitting on the ground.

With a wave of his hand, one of the masked men shoved Eiru to the rest of the girls. A few of the masked men gathered together, seemingly discussing something.

Rubbing her sore butt, Eiru examined the girls around her. Three of them looked like high schoolers, and two looked like university students. Their hands were tied behind their backs, suggesting they had been abducted as well.

But her own hands weren’t tied—was it because her appearance seemed too childish to be a threat?

The girls around her all stared at her in shock. Seeing their reactions, Eiru suddenly remembered a very important detail.

Crap… the horns on my head. She instinctively tried to cover her head, but realized the magic concealing her horns was still active.

Unlike her transformation magic, which required a constant supply of mana, her horn-concealment had a one-time mana cost that would last for a set duration. As long as enough mana had been supplied beforehand, it wouldn’t wear off unless fully depleted. It also wouldn’t disappear just because she lost consciousness.

Judging from where the girls were looking, it didn’t seem like they had noticed the horns. Eiru sighed in relief.

If the concealment was still holding, that meant not much time had passed—at most three days. Still, three days?! That’s way too long!!!

The others in the workshop weren’t paying attention to the little demon girl clutching her head in frustration. After the initial surprise, the girls turned to glare angrily at the masked men.

“You people are animals! Going after a kid that small! Absolutely disgusting,” one of the university-aged girls yelled at them.

But the masked men clearly weren’t new to this—they weren’t fazed by her words in the slightest.

“Can I ask how long I’ve been here?” Eiru asked, trying to keep her cool. Knowing the time was her top priority.

“Hm? This girl’s one of the ones ‘Aunt Huan’ brought in, right? Damn, rare quality…” One of the masked men examined her face instead of answering.

“So, how long have I been here?” Eiru repeated, clearly irritated at being ignored.

“A day and a half, maybe almost two. You slept a long time. These girls next to you woke up about half a day earlier.”

Eiru froze. The masked men laughed at her reaction.

What the hell?! There goes my weekend! My daily login streak is broken! I haven’t done my guild war attacks! My guild leader’s going to kill me!

If the traffickers had known what she was thinking about, they might’ve assumed she was mentally unwell… Not that Eiru cared. Our little Demon Lord was too preoccupied with how many event rewards she had missed.

“Don’t be scared now.” One of the masked men tried to sound comforting, mistaking her silence for fear.

“You’re still young. Probably won’t get sold off to be someone’s bride in the mountains. If you’re lucky, some couple looking to adopt might take you in as a daughter. As for the others… tsk tsk, such a waste.”

Even though he said that, there wasn’t a shred of pity in his voice.

From just that line, Eiru gathered a lot. She had read online about similar real-life cases—rural villagers buying abducted girls to be wives for themselves or their sons. Most of those girls ended up with miserable lives and no freedom. Escape was nearly impossible, and rescue efforts were rare and slow.

Eiru sighed. As a “model citizen of the new era”—wait, scratch that—as a model demon girl of the new era (though she skipped class, dodged homework, and had fought delinquents… just once), she couldn’t just sit back and let this happen.

If she were the only victim, she would’ve come out swinging. But with others here, she couldn’t risk exposing herself. The challenge was how to beat these scumbags up without revealing her identity.

“It’s almost time to transfer them. Let’s move,” said someone who looked like their leader.

They pulled out several rags with what she assumed to be chloroform and began approaching the girls.

“Not that little one. Don’t want to risk anything with too much drugs. Just blindfold her,” said one of them.

Apparently, they were worried that Eiru was too fragile, and they needed to keep her mentally intact in case she was going to be “adopted.”

As for the other girls, since they’d likely be sold off to remote villages as brides, their mental state didn’t matter as much. Some buyers didn’t even care if the girl was mentally impaired.

“You bastards! You’ll pay for this!” one of the girls shouted as the rags were pressed over their faces.

The girls fought back, but their struggles were futile. One by one, they fell unconscious.

“Alright, your turn, little girl. Turn around,” said a masked man, holding a black cloth.

But to their surprise, the little girl didn’t move. Instead, she smiled—an unsettling, knowing smile.

“Turn around already! Don’t make me force you!” the man barked.

“What if I say no?” Eiru stretched her arms in a warm-up motion, a sinister smile plastered on her face.

“You little brat—what’s wrong with you? Are you planning on fighting us?” They all burst into laughter.

“Well… you solved my biggest problem, actually,” Eiru murmured, still stretching.

Then, she unfurled her massive bat-like wings and tail.

Nearly two meters in wingspan, they contrasted sharply with her petite frame, stunning the masked men.

“W-What the hell are you?!”

“I’m the Demon Lord~” she said with a wink—before sending one of them flying into the air.

“Don’t worry, I’m not into killing. Just a little beating should do,” she said, smiling sweetly—a smile that made the traffickers’ blood run cold.

They had just watched a tiny girl deck a grown man. It made no sense.

“She’s alone! Get her!” one yelled, grabbing a steel pipe. The rest followed suit.

Standard flag raising. Eiru didn’t even bother with sarcasm. She was too angry.

Her phone was broken. Her game data was gone. She’d missed events, lost rewards, and broke her login streak…

Our Demon Lord was ready to unleash hell—on everyone except the other girls, of course.

“Almost two days without food. I’m starving. Time to finish this and get out of here.”

With that, she clenched her fist, flared her wings, and shot forward like a bullet into the fray.
