Demon King – Chapter 11 – The Demon Lord is Going to Sleep on the Streets

Changed the city name to Huanghai City (Not yellow)It was a one-sided massacre. Using bursts of magic, physical enhancements, and Eiru’s inhuman reflexes made it so that the human traffickers didn’t even get a chance to touch her before she put each one of them into the dirt.
Picking up a steel pipe that had fallen to the floor, Eiru reinforced her arms slightly with magic and bent it into a U-shape.
“You—you monster, what are you trying to do?!” The few traffickers that could still move, crawled away in fear, desperately trying to distance themselves from the girl behind them.
Carrying a bundle of U-shaped pipes, Eiru approached the traffickers with a wicked grin…
“All done!” Brushing imaginary dust from her hands, Eiru looked quite pleased with her handiwork.
The U-shaped pipes, each of varying size, were fastened onto the traffickers’ waists, necks, wrists, and ankles. The ends of the pipes were driven deep into the floor or walls, pinning them firmly in place.
With that settled, the Demon Lord turned her eyes to the heavy iron door nearby. If she remembered correctly, there were still quite a few people in the other two factories…
“Hey, what’s going on over there? All that banging and crashing.”
“How should I know? Go get someone to check it out. Losing it or not, there’s a limit.”
A few masked men chatted as they sent someone next door to see what was happening. But just as one of them reached the door, the heavy iron door was sent flying with a loud bang.
One of the masked men froze, too scared to move. The door had flown past mere inches from his face—one step closer, and he’d be joining it in low-altitude flight.
They all stared in stunned silence at the scene before them. Through the dust, a small figure emerged, coughing as she slowly walked forward.

They couldn’t see her face, but the silhouette clearly belonged to a child…
However, the massive wings stretching from her back, coupled with the fact that a large iron door was just launched into the air, sparked panic in the group.
“What the hell is that?!”
“Quick, grab the knives!”
“Anyone got a gun?!”
Though clearly rattled, they all pulled out whatever weapons they had. With a weapon in their hands, they regained a bit of courage.
Doesn’t matter what kind of monster it is—they’d blast it to pieces with sheer firepower! That was the only thought in their minds.
But Eiru didn’t care what they thought. She flared her wings and blew the dust away with a gust of wind. As the smoke cleared, she gave them all a wicked smile…
Screams filled the air. Before the traffickers could even react, Eiru was on them, cornering them in the small workshop, herding them like cattle.
“Wait!” someone shouted. Eiru paused and turned her head, spotting a familiar face.
Huh? Wasn’t that the auntie who insisted on walking her home the other day? So she was part of this trafficking ring too? Come to think of it, that familiar voice from the van earlier must have been her.
“Aunt Huan, what the hell did you bring back?! That’s a monster! You can’t even see it move—it’s invincible!” A group of traffickers, finally relieved to see her stop, scrambled over and clung to Aunt Huan’s clothes, wailing.

Pathetic… Eiru turned away. She didn’t even want to look at them.
Aunt Huan stood at the workshop entrance with a group of others, all carrying weapons and glaring warily at Eiru.
“Sweetie, we’re not bad people. There’s no need for you to be so violent…” Belatedly realizing how terrifying Eiru was, they tried to bargain.
Eiru just heard the world’s funniest joke. She let out a giggle, then raised her hand. An invisible force slammed a would-be escapee to the ground.
“Not bad people, huh? Then what’s the deal with kidnapping me and leaving me hungry for two days? If I don’t get a good explanation, I won’t mind eating you all alive.” She licked her lips playfully, watching the life drain from their faces.
Of course, Eiru wasn’t going to really do it—she just wanted to toy with them. She’d already decided what to do with them anyways.
“You see, sweetie… everyone here is just trying to make a living. We’re only doing this out of desperation. We’ve got mouths to feed… So how about this: let’s both take a step back, you walk away, and we pretend that this never happened?” Aunt Huan tried weaseling out of it.
“Sure,” Eiru replied readily. But just as Aunt Huan was about to give the order to leave, she froze at what Eiru said next.
“First, give me my phone back.” She said, still wearing that demonic grin.
“Sweetie, your phone… got damaged… accidentally… on the way,” Aunt Huan stammered.
“Then there’s nothing to talk about. Enjoy your time in prison, okay?” Eiru smiled.
“You little brat! You think you can throw us all in jail? Not without asking my gun first!” a trafficker snapped before firing a shot.

Everyone was stunned. Eiru raised her hand, and the bullet froze midair, suspended in a faint blue magical field.
“I already asked. Your gun said that you belong in jail!” Her sweet, childish voice sent chills down their spines.
Anyone who tried to run got knocked out and pinned to the wall by a bent iron door, reinforced with steel pipes. Eiru surveyed the pile of defeated trash and nodded with satisfaction.
She fished a phone from one of their pockets, called the police, then left the phone on the floor without speaking. As long as the rescued girls were okay, the police would be able to track them through GPS.
As for what the traffickers would say, no one would believe them. With no fingerprints left behind and no cameras on site, Eiru had nothing to fear.
As she stepped out of the abandoned factory, her stomach let out a loud growl. After almost two days without food and all the energy she’d spent, it was amazing she’d held out this long.
Pouting, Eiru clutched her belly and squatted down. Her wings drooped, her tail swept the ground in frustration.
“Where even am I…” She looked around, and was surrounded by wilderness. A lone road stretched out before her, with only the derelict factory in sight.
If she were still inside the city, she’d be fine. But this was obviously on the outskirts. She’d just burned through her magic, and the sun was already setting—so no solar recharge.
“I wanna go home!” Eiru cried, clutching her head and throwing a tantrum. Honestly, it fit her childlike form far too well.
But tantrum or not, staying here wouldn’t help. Gritting her teeth, she stood up and started walking along the highway.
Her wings hung limp. She was too hungry to even fly. Hunched over and dragging her arms forward, Eiru looked utterly defeated.

If she didn’t find a city before nightfall, she’d be sleeping on the roadside…
Even the thought made her shiver. She was a girl, after all. Sleeping outside? No, thanks.
Her clothes hadn’t changed—they were covered in dirt. Even her once-glorious silver hair had lost its shine. The dirt made her feel sick.
All she wanted now was a hot meal and a proper bath.
How did things end up like this? Her phone was gone, games missed, she hadn’t bathed in days, her stomach was empty, and she’d almost completely drained her magic again. If this went on, she’d pass out.
Even if she made it to a city, it definitely wouldn’t be Huanghai. She was penniless, had nothing to eat, and would still end up sleeping on the street.
And Monday was coming—she was supposed to work at the bubble tea shop. If she missed her shifts, the boss might fire her. Then she’d lose her only source of income. Game over.
Eiru curled her tail around her hand—an unconscious habit she developed when she’s anxious or upset.
“Ugh…” Thinking about the last two days, Eiru couldn’t hold it in. Walking alone on the road, she started sobbing like a little kid…
