Demon King – Chapter 13 – The Demon Lord’s Wings Scared People Again

“Brother Li? Yeah—it’s me, Qi Fang. That demon girl with wings you mentioned? I’ve found her…”

“No issues, she just looks really exhausted. She’s sound asleep in the back seat now.”

Officer Qi Fang, wearing a bluetooth earpiece, was driving while talking on the phone. As he spoke, he glanced in the rearview mirror at the girl in the back seat…

Eiru was curled up in the back seat, sleeping soundly. Her small body was wrapped in a blanket, and from time to time she whimpered like a child

“Poor kid. She looks like she’s only ten or eleven? After all that… She cried pretty hard when I found her. Probably hasn’t eaten properly in two days…”

“Don’t worry, I’m using my personal car just like you said. I haven’t told anyone else. I’m tight-lipped…”

“I’ll take her home, feed her, let her wash up and change clothes. Tomorrow I’ll send her back to Huanghai City…”

“Alright, I’m still driving—gonna hang up. I’ll get this little girl back to you safe and sound by tomorrow.” He ended the call, and soon the car rolled into the city.

On the other end, Officer Li finally let out a sigh of relief after hanging up.

He’d already found out what had happened. Someone used one of the traffickers’ phones to call the police, which helped them track down the location. However, once they arrived the traffickers had already been subdued by an unidentified individual.

The surviving traffickers, when questioned, started screaming about all sorts of fantastical nonsense—to the amusement of the officers on duty.

But Officer Li, who knew Eiru’s true identity, immediately realized her involvement. He quickly contacted a former protégé to track Eiru down. It had taken some time, but eventually they found her…

“Hey, little girl? Eiru?” In a daze, Eiru felt someone poking her cheek. She grumbled in annoyance and curled up tighter.

Seeing her reluctance to get up, Qi Fang gently picked her up in his arms.

“Hmmph~” Startled from her sleep, the little demon snuggled into his chest. Her tail instinctively coiled around Qi Fang’s arm, surprising him.

He hadn’t noticed earlier—this kid had not only wings, but also a tail? It was getting late. Better to take her home and let her rest properly…

He tucked the blanket around her carefully, hiding her tail and wings, before carrying her upstairs.

“Hey, you’re back. So that’s why you suddenly ran out… Who’s this kid?” As he entered, Qi Fang’s wife heard the noise and came out from the kitchen.

“A friend’s daughter—got kidnapped and then got lost. Just found her now.”

“I see…” Qi Fang’s wife gently stroked Eiru’s dusty hair, only to feel something unseen and solid beneath her fingers.

“What’s this?” Even though she couldn’t see anything there, she could feel something on her head resembling the shape of a horn.

“This kid’s a bit special. Whatever you see tonight—don’t tell anyone else, ok?” Qi Fang’s tone turned serious.

He pulled back the blanket, revealing the wings and tail to her in full.

“Are those… alive?” Watching her wings twitch, and her tail coiled around her husband’s arm, she was utterly stunned.

“Go give her a bath… she’s been out in the wild for two whole days. Just look at all this dust…” He handed over the small girl carefully.

“Oh… okay.” She instinctively took her. The girl’s body was surprisingly light. Seemingly sensing the handover, Eiru’s tail released Qi Fang’s arm and wrapped around hers instead.

“She’s like a little animal…” Seeing the girl’s adorable reaction, Qi Fang’s wife relaxed. Even with wings and a tail, the girl didn’t feel dangerous at all.

“Cut that out—she’s still a person.”

“Okay, okay… I’ll get her washed up. I made some food, you go eat first.” She walked into the bathroom, cradling Eiru in her arms.

“Oh right, we should still have some of our daughter’s old clothes, right? It’ll be good to find them— she probably needs a change of clothes.” Qi Fang’s voice came from the living room.

“Got it…” she replied, placing the half-asleep Eiru on a small stool, letting her lean against the wall. She turned on the shower and adjusted the water’s temperature.

Once it was set, she reached out to help the little demon undress—only to run into a serious problem.

There were no holes in the clothing, and yet she still had both her wings and tail out. With those in the way, there wasn’t a way to undress her normally.

“How did she even get this on…?” She was dumbfounded. Just then, Eiru’s eyes slowly fluttered open.

“Mmmgh… who are you?” Eiru blinked up at the unfamiliar woman in confusion and tried to rub her eyes, before getting stopped.

“Don’t rub your eyes—your hands are dirty.” Qi Fang’s wife coaxed as she gently wiped Eiru’s eyes.

“Mmh…”

“Be good now, and how do you usually take your clothes off? Your wings and tail are in the way…”

“Wings… tail… can be put away…” Eiru mumbled, flapping her wings a couple times as if preparing to retract them back into her body.

“Wait! Let me wash your wings and tail first. They’re covered in dust—just hold off a bit.”

Though she didn’t fully understand what Eiru meant by “putting them away,” her instincts told her doing so mid-bath might create an even bigger problem.

But our little demon didn’t respond, head drooping—she seemed to have dozed off again…

Wetting a towel with warm water, she carefully wiped the girl’s wings and tail. She wasn’t entirely sure how sensitive those parts were, but she assumed they were delicate—so she tried to be as gentle as possible.

“These wings are… huge.” Trying to clean them as thoroughly as possible, she reached out and gently spread them apart—and was immediately stunned.

When she’d carried the girl earlier, the wings had been retracted, so she hadn’t noticed. But now, with them extended, these nearly two-meter-wide wings left her completely at a loss for what to do.
