Demon King – Chapter 15 – The Demon Lord Was Shocked by a Rich Person
“Muh’I’m six’eem a’weddy(But I’m sixteen already),” Eiru mumbled through a mouthful of food.
Sixteen? Never mind her pitiful height—just watching her skewer meatballs together with chopsticks before biting into them like a child was more than enough to make the two adults doubt her claim.
“I really am sixteen! I’m in high school right now!” Eiru grew agitated when she saw disbelief plastered all over their faces.
“So what is it then? Malnutrition? Does your family neglect you or something?” If she really was telling the truth, then having the height of a grade-schooler was definitely worrying.
“Well… not exactly…” Eiru admitted. Admittedly, their guess wasn’t entirely off—but it wasn’t as bad as they were imagining either.
“I just can’t grow anymore. Gonna be stuck like this forever. You can call it the side effect of my superpowers if you want.” She shrugged, looking helpless.
“Superpowers?” Though they’d seen videos online of people bending spoons or whatever, it was another thing to witness it firsthand. So the two adults’ curiosity was immediately piqued by Eiru’s casual comment.
“Ermmm…” After thinking for a moment, Eiru ran a finger along her chopsticks. As she did, it was as if someone was running an invisible eraser along it—the chopsticks disappeared right before their eyes.

Then she swiped her finger back the other way, the chopsticks reappeared. The little magic trick left the couple gasping in astonishment.
“The horns on your head—you hide those the same way, right? I guess I understand now why Officer Li was so careful about this…”
Qi Fang had originally assumed Officer Li was only being secretive because Eiru was a friend’s daughter. The man had emphasized the secrecy of it several times, even adding, “This kid might be one of a kind in the world. You absolutely cannot let anything happen to her.”
Now, he got it. Forget the tail and wings—just her supernatural abilities alone would cause public order to flip.
The little demon lord stuck her tongue out. In truth, her powers went way beyond that. Magic had all sorts of strange and wonderful uses. But she’d chosen only to show a simple cloaking trick by refracting light—not only because it was easier on her depleted reserves, but also to avoid drawing too much attention or panic.
“In any case, I’ll give your bubble tea shop boss a call tomorrow. Just take a good rest tonight—tomorrow, I’ll drive you back to Huanghai City.”
“Drive?” Eiru blinked. Huanghai City was over 1,500 kilometers away, wasn’t it? Even driving nonstop on the highway, it’d take more than ten hours!
“What else, silly girl? You planning to take the high-speed train? Do you even have your ID with you?” Qi Fang chuckled at her reaction.

“Not really…” Or more accurately, even if she did, it’d be useless. The photo on the ID looked completely different from what she looked like now.
Taking a plane or train required identification. Which meant driving was her only option. As for flying back herself? Eiru immediately ruled it out.
Yeah, right. With how little magic she had left, she’d probably fall out of the sky halfway through the trip. And without magic, she was no different from an ordinary little girl. If she really fell, they’d need a hazmat crew to scrape her off the pavement.
“Once you’re full, go rest for a bit. No rush, but we should head out early tomorrow. The guest room is all ready for you.” Seeing she was about done eating, Qi Fang’s wife led Eiru to a room.
Through their earlier conversation, Eiru had learned the couple had a daughter who was already away at university. The room prepared for her was actually the daughter’s.
The moment Eiru stepped inside, she nearly had to shield her eyes. A giant glass cabinet loomed in the room, filled to the brim with—yes, the legendary plastic figurines.
Oh my god… she’s loaded! As the saying goes: one wall of figures, or one down payment on a house. As a fellow otaku, Eiru naturally recognized the value of what was inside that cabinet.
“This is my daughter’s collection. I don’t really understand what you kids see in these toy figurines… but if you want to take a look, go ahead. Just don’t break anything,” Qi Fang’s wife chuckled, patting her on the head.

“No, Auntie. I think it’s best if I don’t touch other people’s stuff…” Realizing how rude she must’ve looked, Eiru laughed awkwardly.
She remembered when she was younger, she’d accidentally broken one of her cousin’s prized figures and got a proper beating for it. Although he hadn’t pressed the issue, Eiru had used all her pocket money and New Year’s money to buy a replacement. Ever since then, she never touched anyone else’s collection.
“Alright, alright… Auntie’s heading off now. You should get some rest too.” Qi Fang’s wife gave a warm smile and shut the door behind her.
She might not understand the monetary value of those things, but her daughter clearly treasured them. Normally, she would lock the room to keep visitors out, but this was just a rare exception because Eiru was such a polite and well-behaved girl.
Left alone, Eiru wandered up to the cabinet, tail swishing excitedly as she admired the stunning array of high-end figures.
No way was she gonna touch anything—some of those were clearly limited editions. Knock one over and she’d have to sell a kidney to pay for it… But at least she could look, right? A whole wall of exclusive figures was every otaku’s dream.
As she scanned the shelves, one particular figure caught her attention. Silver hair. Star-like blue eyes. Forked wings. A tail…
Wait, wasn’t that her?

No—on closer inspection, it wasn’t exactly her. Though it looked incredibly alike, there were plenty of subtle differences: the shape of the tail, the design of the wings, the horns on her head…
“Why’s it gotta be the R18 version…” Eiru’s mouth twitched. Wasn’t it a little inappropriate to have something like that just out in the open?
Looking at the silver-haired girl being tangled in tentacles, Eiru couldn’t help but feel more and more awkward.
Why did it feel like… she was looking at herself?
