Demon King – Chapter 17 – The Demon Lord Has Awakened!
The bedroom door hadn’t been closed, so the noise inside the room was easily heard by the two outside. Qi Fang had just stepped into the room and was met with quite a scene…
The girl lay curled up quietly on the bed, fast asleep. His own daughter squatted beside the bed in a daze, her outstretched hand ensnared midair by the girl’s tail.
“Dad… this…” Seeing her father come in, Qi Rong gave him a look of disbelief.
“Sigh… I forgot to tell you. Anyway, this girl is a bit special, so keep whatever you see here strictly confidential.” Qi Fang rubbed his forehead as he explained.
“You mean, the tail, the wings, and the horns on her head…”
“Yeah, all real.”
Even though she had already guessed the truth, getting a definitive answer from her father left Qi Rong with some complicated feelings.
“So what now?” Her arm still bound by the tail, Qi Rong looked at her father with a pleading gaze.
“Just gently unwrap it yourself. Don’t wake her up.” Qi Fang, however, made it clear he could offer no help.
Gently unwrap it? Looking at the tail wrapped around her arm no less than six or seven times—and quite tightly at that—Qi Rong had the urge to shout, “You’re kidding, right?”. The tail was wrapped around so tight that it felt like it was cutting off her circulation.

After gesturing for Qi Fang to leave, Qi Rong began the painstaking task of unwrapping the tail from her arm.
Could this girl actually be the real Lu ? The one from the game, transported here? That would be beyond incredible…
Qi Rong suddenly recalled an old anime she’d watched, where characters from anime and games suddenly appeared in the real world, leading to total chaos…
There was even a meme from it: “Smash your iPad hard enough and your 2D waifu will come out of your screen.”
And if Lu is here, does that mean that an ice queen or an elf is about to show up too?
Trying not to wake the girl, Qi Rong moved slowly and gently. With her thoughts spiraling, she finally managed to untangle the tail from her arm.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Qi Rong looked up, hoping to catch another glimpse of the girl’s sleeping face—only to find her sapphire eyes already open, staring at her curiously.
“Uh, hi… good morning. Did you sleep well?” It seemed she’d woken the girl. A little embarrassed, Qi Rong awkwardly greeted her.
Staaaaare…

“Don’t just stare at me, you’re making me nervous here…” Qi Rong grew increasingly uneasy under the silent gaze, trying to prompt the girl to speak.
“Good morning?” the little demon lord replied after a moment of silence.
“But who are you?” Scanning her memory, the demon lord was sure she hadn’t seen this person yesterday.
Wait—was this the uncle and aunt’s daughter? Then… wasn’t she sleeping in someone else’s bed?! Realizing this, Eiru jolted upright in panic.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to take your bed. And your figures, your plushies—I didn’t touch any of them!” Eiru pressed her palms together apologetically.
Seeing the girl’s earnest reaction, Qi Rong couldn’t help but burst into laughter. Just then, Qi Fang and his wife entered the room as well…
“What’s going on? Did you bully her?” Seeing Eiru like this, the couple probably thought that their daughter had done something again.
“Come on, I didn’t do anything! And seriously, who would dare bully Lu? You’d get punched into orbit,” Qi Rong raised both hands in protest. That girl’s the real deal—who in their right mind would mess with the king of the demon race?
“Huh? How do you know her name’s Lu?” Qi Fang and his wife were a bit surprised—after all, their daughter shouldn’t have known the girl’s name.

“I’m not that Lu! Stop mixing us up!” Eiru’s reaction was swift and intense. And before the couple could even grasp what was going on, the two girls launched into a conversation that made no sense to them.
“Don’t mess with me, I know who you are! You’re that little demon lord from the game—Lu, right?”
“I’m not her! I was born from my mom’s belly! I’m a native of this world, not some eternal loli with a question mark for her age!”
What kind of imagination did this woman have? Talking about game characters showing up in the real world. If the actual character appeared, the whole world would probably be in chaos.
Even as she screamed mentally, Eiru could understand her confusion. She did look ridiculously similar, and the concept of transformation magic wasn’t all that far from being a full-blown isekai scenario…
“My name’s Eiru, I’m 16, and I go to high school in Huanghai City. I’m really not the game character you’re thinking of—just lookalike, that’s all…” Eiru held up a finger, her wings flapping gently behind her as she earnestly introduced herself to Qi Rong.
“I see…” On closer inspection, Qi Rong did notice quite a few differences from the game character, and accepted Eiru’s explanation.
With introductions done, this morning’s little episode came to an end. After washing up, Eiru sat in the living room, eating breakfast that the Qi family had prepared.
While Eiru nibbled at her sandwich like a tiny little creature, Qi Rong stared, mentally questioning the supposed dignity of a demon king.

What could you do though? Even if she now knew this wasn’t the same person, they looked so alike that the comparison was impossible to ignore.
“I’ve already called your milk tea shop’s boss and gotten you some time off. Just rest up, and whenever you’re ready, we’ll set off and take you back home,” Qi Fang said as he approached, ruffling Eiru’s hair.
“Wait—Dad, you’re going out again today?” Qi Rong had only just gotten home from her break, and now her dad was taking off again?
“Of course. Who else is going to take this kid back? Did you forget what your old man does? She got abducted all the way to Lishi City—it’s our duty to get her home.”
“None of your coworkers were free? Did it really have to be you…” she muttered under her breath. Her dad always had to do everything himself.
“What are you mumbling about? And besides, you’ve seen her… uniqueness. The fewer people who know, the better.”
“Why not just let her stay a couple more days? It’s not like we’re in a rush…” Qi Rong wasn’t ready to let the adorable little demon go just yet.
Eiru, meanwhile, paused mid-bite and gave her a look of disbelief.
Big sis, do we really know each other that well? Since when did I become Lu to you? And hello—I’m a high school student. I’ve got class. And a job.
