Demon King – Chapter 21 – The Demon Lord’s Sharp-tongued Little Sister
Demon King – Chapter 21 – The Demon Lord’s Sharp-tongued Little Sister
Guided by little Eiru, Officer Li soon arrived at their destination—a residential community located in the western district of Huanghai City.
“Are you sure you want to keep hiding it?” In the underground parking garage, Officer Li looked over at the little demon lord in the passenger seat, who was idly playing with her tail.
“For now, yeah…” Eiru stretched and gave her answer while retracting her wings and tail.
Taking the elevator upstairs, Eiru—now transformed into her male appearance—led Officer Li to the front door of his home. He was just about to ring the doorbell, when he hesitated while reaching for it.
“You do it, Uncle Li…” he muttered, stepping back to hide behind Officer Li, feeling oddly guilty.
Officer Li stepped up and knocked on the door. He figured there were probably elderly and children inside, so ringing the doorbell this late at night probably wouldn’t be very polite.
Soon, someone came to open the door. As the inner door opened and Officer Li came into view, Eiru’s father called his mother over too.
When Eiru’s mother saw Eiru standing at the door, she rushed over before wrapping him in a hug.
“Mom…”

“You’re safe, thank goodness. You scared us half to death,” said Eiru’s mother, her voice trembling slightly.
“You’re a big boy already—how could you just get kidnapped like that? How many times have I told you? Be careful when you’re out! You treat everything I say like it’s white noise—”
Ah… here it comes again. Eiru’s guilt vanished instantly under his mother’s nagging, and he put on his best “I’m suffering” expression, skillfully employing his left-ear-in, right-ear-out technique.
“Let him rest, it’s late and he must be tired…” Eiru’s father cut in, clearly understanding what his beloved son was thinking just from the look on his face.
“Go get some rest! We’ll deal with you tomorrow!” Eiru’s mother gave him a glare that made him quickly scurry off to his room. Meanwhile, the three adults sat down in the living room for a discussion.
Eiru had no interest in what they were discussing. He wouldn’t be able to participate anyway. Since Officer Li had promised to keep his true form a secret, it didn’t matter what they talked about as long as they didn’t expose him.
Sitting in his chair, Eiru pulled out his bag and was just thinking about whether to shower when the door creaked open slightly as Eiya peeked her head in.
“You’re back?” Eiya’s tone was flat, but Eiru was already used to it. His little sister had never been very warm toward him.

“You’re still up? Don’t you have school tomorrow?” It was already past 1 a.m., and Eiru was a bit surprised his model-student sister was still awake.
“I don’t wanna be lectured by the King of Cutting Class. Getting kidnapped—what are you, a little girl?” Eiya rolled her eyes before walking into the room.
After Officer Li informed Eiru’s parents that he’d been found, they hadn’t kept it a secret from Eiya and told her what had happened.
When they first told her, Eiya was a bit stunned. Her sixteen-year-old high school delinquent of a brother—known for skipping class—had gotten himself kidnapped? That was just embarrassing.
Her contempt for her brother increased a bit, but ultimately she was relieved he was okay. No matter how much of a disappointment he was, he was still her brother. She couldn’t pretend not to care.
“So what are you doing here? Still not going to sleep?”
“Just checking if you lost a limb or something. I’d rather not end up taking care of you. Also—why do you smell like a girl? You got kidnapped and can still find the time to flirt?”
“Flirt?” Eiru was dumbfounded. Shouldn’t she be more worried about being the one getting flirted with?

“Everyone knows what you’re like. Even your apartment reeks of women. The neighbors say you’ve been bringing girls over, acting all shady…”
I’m innocent! Eiru cried in his heart, but there was no way to explain this mess…
“Clean up your act. Our family’s reputation can’t afford to be trashed by you. And FYI, Mom and Dad spent a lot of money and pulled strings for your sake this time, so don’t cause any more trouble.” Eiya tossed that out before turning around and heading back to her room.
Huh? Wait, what…? Wasn’t it Officer Li who had called Uncle Qi Fang to come get him? What did his parents have to do with it? And what’s this about money and favors?
Whatever. Shower time.
Pulling out his true body’s clothes from his bag, Eiru wrapped them in his male clothes from his closet and slipped off to the bathroom.
On his way there, he glanced into the living room, where the three adults were still in deep conversation.
“It’s late. Don’t take too long in there,” Eiru’s mother reminded him gently when she saw her son heading toward the bathroom with clothes in hand.

“Got it…” Eiru replied half-heartedly, entering the bathroom, locking the door, and removing her disguise.
It was strange—the clothes on her real body and her disguise were completely independent from each other. Changing forms wouldn’t result in awkward mishaps or swapped outfits.
The little demon lord didn’t fully understand how it worked, but it was convenient. It was like switching between two separate bodies, with the unused one tucked into another dimension, clothes and all.
Still, her male form was a fake—her real body was still the loli. Not to mention that her strength also reflected her size. Any injury to the fake form would reflect on the real one immediately.
Not that she cared about all that right now… she just wanted to take a shower. Stripping off her clothes and turning on the showerhead, the Demon Lord thought to herself:
…Maybe it’s best not to hum at home. If someone hears me, it’s over.
