Demon King – Chapter 221 – Departure! To the Hot Spring! (Doesn’t this title sound familiar?)
The next afternoon, after waking from her nap, the Demon Lord began tidying her clothes, getting ready to head out to meet her best friend.
“Strange, Little Ya actually went out…” Waking up to find her little sister gone… Her Majesty the Demon Lord wondered where to, as she tucked the swimsuit her sister had bought for her into her waist pouch and pulled out the two hot spring tickets.
Even though that silly girl left a message saying she went to Cousin Miao’s place, and even though this wasn’t the Eastern District, she was still worried—only after confirming by phone that she had indeed arrived safely did Eiru finally relax, slung on her backpack, and got ready to leave.
At the door, the Demon Lord placed the tickets on the shoe cabinet, then picked out a pair of cute round-toed leather shoes from inside… since she could use her little sister as an excuse, she could leave her real body’s shoes in the cabinet openly.
But speaking of which, Eiru realized her and Eiya’s body sizes were remarkably similar, so the two of them could freely swap clothes and shoes without worrying about size differences.
Today the little Demon Lord was wearing a very cute black sleeveless dress, finely made with quality fabric, so it was clearly not cheap… of course, she couldn’t afford such a dress; it was her dear little sister who had lent it to her.
A knee-length black dress paired with white knee-high socks… right now, Eiru looked less like a Demon Lord and more like a lovely little princess.
When it came to skirt length, this loli still retained some of her ‘very on-brand’ thoughts from when she was a boy: the shorter the skirt, the better.
“I’ll never wear skirts that go past my knees!” Her Majesty the Demon Lord had declared to her little sister at the time…

Partly because she thought short skirts looked nice, but mainly because of another reason mentioned before. Eiru was lively and active, so long skirts were far too inconvenient for her.
As for Eiya’s suggestion of wearing safety shorts, the Demon Lord’s response was: “Safety shorts are humanity’s greatest failure! I will never, ever wear them!”
Eiya didn’t react too much to this—after all, her sister used to be a boy… she figured once she wore skirts more often she’d slowly understand.
But Eiya seemed to forget, her silly sister never really cared about flashing people anyways… even if she’d get embarrassed if people noticed or pointed it out, most of the time she didn’t really mind.
With her shoes on, the Demon Lord straightened her clothes and hair in the mirror at the door—today she hadn’t tied her hair at all, letting her smooth silver hair flow freely down her back…
After tidying herself up, Eiru grabbed her waist pouch and happily stepped out the door…
Not far from her house at the bus stop, Yuki sat on the bench waiting for the girl to appear while reading the messages from his best friend on his phone.
Sorry, I’ve got something to do today so I won’t come. I also gave her my phone, so take good care of her—this was what the screen displayed, exactly as Yuki had expected.
“As I thought, Little Lu still failed… well, Lu Brat can be stubborn like that sometimes.” Yuki sighed. After knowing him for so many years, he could tell right away it was just an excuse.

According to Lu Brat’s usual habits, whether it was to keep Yuki from worrying or to make his excuse sound more convincing—if he really had something to do, even if he couldn’t give details, he’d at least roughly explain the reason…
Yuki didn’t know every detail of his best friend’s daily life, but he knew enough about what that shut-in did… a vague ‘I have something’ clearly meant he just didn’t want to go but didn’t have the heart to say it outright.
“Stupid Yuki, how long have you been waiting?” A familiar cute voice rang out, and Yuki felt arms wrap around his neck from behind.
“Not long, you’re pretty punctual… I thought you’d end up oversleeping from your nap.” Putting away his phone, Yuki smiled and turned, pressing his hands into her cute little cheeks.
“I’m not that much of a sleepyhead, okay?” Taking two steps forward, the Demon Lord naturally sat down on her best friend’s lap—after all, this was her ‘special seat’. 1 breh
“How is it? I borrowed this dress from Little Ya specially~” Tilting her head back, Eiru rubbed lightly against Yuki’s chest as she asked his opinion on her outfit.
“Super cute~ my Little Lu is the best.” Yuki slipped his hands under her arms and mischievously tickled the loli in his arms.
“D-Don’t… don’t do that…” The ticklish Demon Lord burst into giggles as she squirmed, but never made any move to get off of Yuki.
“Alright, I’ll stop. I just checked, the bus we need is almost here…” Yuki let up, handing his phone to the loli.

“Only one stop away, I’m lucky today~” Looking at the screen, the Demon Lord had thought she’d have to wait half an hour.
Because he worried she’d be bored or unsafe waiting alone, Yuki hadn’t gone directly to the destination. He’d gone out of his way to meet her and wait for the bus together.
“Waiting’s fine, but the ride’s pretty long… what I’m worried about is not getting a seat…” The Demon Lord shook her head, clearly not fond of public transport.
She didn’t like talking to strangers. If it weren’t for being broke, she’d rather always take a taxi.
Yuki could have paid for one, but Eiru stubbornly refused to let her best friend waste money. And since she didn’t want to spend money on herself either, the two of them ended up riding the bus.
“Don’t move around, I’m fixing your hair…” Yuki tapped her little head with a smile, straightening out her silver hair that had gotten messy from the tickling earlier.
“Are they siblings?”
“They both have white hair, so probably.”
“But why do they look like a couple to me?”

“Don’t be silly, that girl’s pretty, sure, but look how young she is? Don’t mistake siblings for lovers.”
The striking silver-haired pair caught many glances at the bus stop. Some of the other passengers waiting started whispering… a group of middle schoolers in particular were gossiping energetically.
“Can’t siblings be a couple too? Haven’t you seen that—”
“Shut up, no forbidden sibling stuff!” A few boys immediately pounced on the unlucky one who had spoken such dangerous words…
Their discussion wasn’t loud, but it was enough to reach Yuki and Eiru’s ears. Yuki’s face filled with embarrassment, while the Demon Lord nestled in his arms blushed slightly as well…

I wonder if Eiru will ever start to get self aware…
