Demon King – Chapter 251 – Who Says Boys Can’t Gossip?

“Sss… so cold…” Even though she was mentally prepared, the water temperature still made the little girl shiver uncontrollably.

Well, it made sense. The training base was on a mountain. With the nighttime temperatures here, of course the water would be freezing.

“Eek…” The icy water poured over her body, and the little Demon Lord couldn’t help but tremble. But there was no helping it. After a whole day of training, she couldn’t just skip a shower because it was cold, right?

“Did you hear a girl’s voice? It sounded like a little loli…” The voice outside startled Eiru, who was hiding in a stall to shower.

Crap, they heard me… She thought that her small noises would be drowned out by the sound of running water and chatter. Why were these guys’ ears so sharp!

After all, she couldn’t enter the girls’ bath without exposing her true form. If it weren’t for the individual stalls in the public bathhouse, she wouldn’t have dared to bathe here outside of bedtime.

“You’ve been single too long, are you hallucinating? Cut down on those books. This is the boys’ bathhouse…”

“No girl would dare come here, let alone a loli… wake up!” With the sound of a slap, the other two boys teased him, dismissing his odd idea.

That finally let the girl inside holding her breath sigh with relief. She had no desire to trigger some hentai plot. That would be terrifying.

“But I clearly heard…”

“Alright, alright, just finish up and let’s go get some food before bed.”

As the boys pushed each other around and their voices faded away, Her Majesty the Demon Lord survived another exposure crisis.

Continuing to rinse under the cold water, this time Eiru had learned her lesson, gritting her teeth and staying silent. Outside, plenty of people were still lined up to shower and wash clothes. There was no need to tempt fate.

Maybe because some people had already showered, the night’s training was surprisingly light. It was mostly the instructor leading group activities and self-introductions to build connections. It was actually quite humane.

Or maybe it was just because it was the first day and they treated it as an adjustment period. Either way, after training, the little Demon Lord rushed to grab a corner stall in the bathhouse to wash off the day’s sweat.

After bathing and putting back up her disguise, she returned to her bed and took out a cup of turtle jelly that Yuki had given her, eating it as the surrounding students drooled enviously.

Honestly, her well-behaved performance during training today made many realize that the legendary Great Demon King Eiru didn’t seem as terrifying as the rumors said.

But even so, no one dared approach her. It was just because of her connection with Yuki from the Honor Class.

Not that Eiru had any intention of making friends with them. But watching them eye her turtle jelly with envy made her feel smug. My best friend gave me this—do you guys have any?

She already had her plan for the night. Once the instructor finished the first room check, she’d use the excuse of going to the bathroom, put on her coat, and head up to sleep near the water tower on the fourth floor.

Because of how the area was set up, they didn’t worry about students sneaking off. Compared to the eight-person dorms, the checks here in the big dormitory were rare and light. And honestly, once their training started to intensify, no one would have the energy to fool around anyway.

Wear them out enough and they wouldn’t have the strength for nonsense.

And by the water tower, there was even a small loft-like spot. Sure, it was cold, but at least it was sheltered from wind and rain. Sleeping there wasn’t a big problem. If nothing went wrong, Eiru planned to spend the next two weeks up there.

It did feel a bit like camping outdoors though… Scooping turtle jelly into her mouth, the Demon Lord thought before noticing her two neighbors on either side edging closer.

“What’s up?” She asked, seeing their hesitant faces.

“Nothing, we just wanted to ask… are you really dating your deskmate Yue Yue?”

“Yeah, she’s my girlfriend. Why?” Since she had agreed to pretend to be Yue Yue’s boyfriend, Eiru admitted it directly, drawing a chorus of gasps from nearby boys.

“Nothing, just thought we’d remind you… she has connections with Class 1…”

So it was just gossip and stirring up drama… The Demon Lord was exasperated. She knew they didn’t get along with the Honor Class, but she didn’t expect them to hate them this much.

“That’s because they knew each other before high school. I also knew Yuki from Class 1 before Seventh High. It’s the same thing.” Tossing her empty cup into the trash can with a perfect arc, she added calmly.

“You can’t just throw away friendships that have lasted this long because of grades, right?” Her tone carried a trace of disdain. It was a good thing she had the title of the Great Demon King… Otherwise, not only would these people not listen, they’d probably surround and try to tease her instead.

Although it wasn’t likely to change their minds immediately, the logic in Eiru’s words did leave a lasting impression on them. After all, strength was authority, and her reputation gave her the weight to speak.

“So, how long have you and Yue Yue been together? There haven’t been any rumors at all, which is really surprising…” Someone broke the ice, and soon all of Class 22’s boys crowded around.

Gossip was human nature, regardless of gender. And with Eiru’s usual elusive nature, these boys were naturally curious about the Great Demon King.

Unlike girls, boys weren’t prone to scheming and many of them respected her legendary feats. As long as they could have a conversation, it wasn’t hard to get along.

“Emmm, quite a while, I guess?” The Demon Lord put on a thoughtful face, though her heart was starting to panic.

Damn, she hadn’t gone over stories with Yue Yue. How was she supposed to cover this? With no good excuse, Eiru could only spin some half-truths based on recent events.

“But not that long, really. We only made it official recently.” That part was true. After all, she had only agreed to this fake couple act today…
