Quietly walking up behind the silver haired girl fiddling with strange light particles, Yuki gently patted her shoulder. She jolted, but quickly realized who it was.

“Sorry, I was too harsh on you today…” Yuki apologized awkwardly, but the other party looked like she hadn’t taken it to heart at all.

“Oh… it’s fine. So, why did you come find me? My outfit looks fine, right?” The little Demon Lord turned and asked her best friend. She bit off the ice pop in her hand with a crunch, sending a chill down a certain someone’s spine.

“I just want to talk about something serious, nothing else…” Yuki scratched his head, carefully considering how to start.

“Oh, alright, go ahead and say it…” With a few bites she finished the ice pop before dissolving the little wooden stick in her hand with magic and hopped down from the wall block around the edge of the building that had been serving as a railing.

Ugh… chilly. The breeze stirred by her movements reminded her of the consequence of not wearing that piece of fabric under her skirt. She pressed her skirt down. ¹ Gutter…

“Then I’ll be blunt…” Yuki took a deep breath and began slowly.

“So, just how long is Lu Brat planning to keep this from me?”

“You you you… are you out of your mind? You’re looking for Lu Brat, what does that have to do with me, Little Lu?” The Demon Lord’s expression changed drastically, mind racing to think of where she might have slipped up.

“Both of you have chronic joint pain on rainy days, always saying ‘I’m getting old’, terrified of water, and always running up to the rooftop…” Yuki listed their common traits while observing the girl’s face.

“Th… those are all coincidences. I’ve shown up at the same time as him, doesn’t that prove we’re two different people?” The little Demon Lord struggled, thinking that this card in her hand should be something he couldn’t refute.

“I never said you were the same person. You just confessed it yourself.” Yuki smiled triumphantly. “I said, how long does Lu Brat plan to keep this from me, why did you assume I meant you?”

“Damn it? You’re playing word games with me?!” Eiru stomped her feet angrily. “We’re two different people, otherwise how do you explain us appearing at the same time?”

“Good question. If you had only pulled that trick once, I might not have noticed…” Yuki’s face clearly showed he had been waiting for her to ask this. He began analyzing.

In several scenes where both “Lu Brat” and “Little Lu” appeared, every time, “Lu Brat” would quickly ditch the girl and dive into the little black room ² Referring to Eiru’s lil bed area … After repeated observations, Yuki noticed that every time “Lu Brat” climbed onto the bed, the ladder would be left with fresh cat claw marks—clearly, the girl’s cover up hadn’t been thorough enough; leaving that clue behind.

“So that ‘Lu Brat’… was actually Gulu, right? You’ve shown illusion-like abilities before. You turned Gulu into your male form to confuse us, right?” Yuki asked with a grin, pulling the girl into his arms and sitting down with her on a jutting slab of concrete.

“I… I…” The girl began to panic. She was always at a loss of words when facing something unexpected—which was exactly why Yuki dared to push her step by step.

“Also, that ‘Lu Brat’ you created, he never once actually spoke to you. After enough times, anyone paying attention would see the problem…” Yuki leaned in close to her ear and suddenly shouted.

“Lu Brat!!!”

“Ah! Ah! Sorry! Sorry! I didn’t mean to… no wait, I did mean to hide it… no, that’s not right… ahhh! Sorry!” Hugging her head, the little Demon Lord panicked, nearly bursting into tears.

“I… I don’t even know where to start, my head’s a mess…” Eiru held her head, overwhelmed not so much by confusion but by the fear of how he might treat her after this. Her thoughts froze.

“Then I’ll ask, you answer. Have you always been a girl?” Yuki went straight to the question that mattered most—after all, this was about chasing his future wife.

“N… no, I used to be a boy. When I first met you I was a boy. Two, three years ago I changed into this. I don’t know why.”

“So are you now a boy or a girl?” He pinched her cheek, signaling her to calm down, and asked his second question.

“I… I’m a girl now, but I can temporarily turn back into a boy. Both bodies are real.”

“Then… why did you hide it from me? Something this big, don’t you consider me your friend?” Yuki’s tone grew serious—he was genuinely hurt by this.

Sobbing, she remembered how she had gotten used to loneliness after Jiaqi went abroad. Then, after stopping Yuki from ending his own life, she had befriended him on a whim, only to slowly place him in the most important part of her heart…

The scariest thing isn’t never having something, but to lose something after possessing it. Unable to adapt to loneliness again, Yuki had become the last piece of glue holding together her fragile heart. That was why she never wanted him to reject or despise her.

“There, there, don’t cry…” Holding the girl who was already sobbing like a little kitten, Yuki heard her heart and no longer wanted to press her.

Still, he felt a bit thankful. Fortunately, Eiru had hidden herself and approached him as a loli for two years, letting him treat her completely as a little girl from a broken household—which, in truth, she was.
