Demon King – Chapter 34 – Little Demon Lord uses Authority
However, the situation on the street wasn’t looking good. The two criminals, unable to shake off their pursuers, had taken a bystander hostage.
“I give up. Is watching really that entertaining?” Eiru was utterly speechless at these troublemaking spectators who came to look.
While she didn’t expect them to help, they shouldn’t be crowding around and making things worse… Seeing the gun pressed against the hostage’s head, the police didn’t have any choice but to keep their distance, trying to keep the situation stable.
“It’s all that stupid cat’s fault. If not for that, those two would’ve been on the ground and arrested already.” The little Demon Lord glared fiercely at the cat beside her, who remained completely unbothered—after all, you can’t expect a cat to understand much.
“Fine, I’ll use my authority. I finally regenerated some mana and wanted to save it…” Eiru looked reluctant, but her hands moved without hesitation.
Spreading her arms, she waved them around herself as if writing something in the air. Several high-tier magic circles materialized from her hands, rotating around the little Demon Lord.
“Acceleration, invisibility, targeting, silencing…” Waving both hands forward, four magic circles moved in front of her following Eiru’s movements before stacking together.

Once again forming a gun with her fingers, the girl aimed through the center of the magic circle formation. The semi-transparent magic circles started overlapping and stacking, creating something like a scope.
At the same time, one of the patterns on the ring around the girl’s tail began glowing blue, seemingly showing that she’d activated something…
Although she hasn’t explored every ability yet, Eiru had discovered quite a few useful ones. Besides magic circle manipulation and basic applications of mana, the Demon Lord had also discovered special abilities called Authorities.
Authorities were pretty absurd, but their magic consumption was also equally as high. Therefore, the little Demon Lord, who was always low on magic power, hadn’t delved too deeply into this area.
Exceptional abilities combined with her own inexperience meant that without chanting, Eiru couldn’t properly use them.
In short, the little Demon Lord had given these abilities attack names, and she couldn’t use them without shouting them out.
“[Pseudo-Authority: Hypnosis]” Along with her chant, two invisible magic bullets shot out at insane speeds, weaving past every spectator and precisely hit both criminals in the forehead.

The two criminals froze, then seemed to cry out in pain as they dropped their guns. They shoved the hostage forward before standing back-to-back, looking around in panic as if they were seeing something terrifying.
Though unsure of what happened, with the hostage safe and the men no longer armed, the surrounding police leapt into action and subdued both men without much effort.
“Phew…” She coolly brought her finger to her lips and blew on it, but less than three seconds later, the girl suddenly felt drained before collapsing to the ground.
“Half my magic power is gone, and that was just a pseudo-Authority…” The little Demon Lord felt like crying—it was like having half of your life’s savings vanish in an instant.
Meanwhile, the two criminals being escorted away suddenly began struggling violently, shouting “What’s happening?” while looking around in terror.
Though puzzled by the criminals’ reaction, the police didn’t pay much attention and loaded them into the patrol car. Whatever the problem was, they’d figure it out back at the station…
That was naturally our Demon Lord’s handiwork. The Authority of Illusion was an ability that directly interfered with biological brain signals through a medium.

Named after the god of dreams, this hypnosis-like ability could interfere with the target’s five senses to some degree. By disrupting the senses, it created cognitive distortions in their surroundings, resulting in hallucinations.
At that moment, a certain anonymous good samaritan was lying on the ground, completely exhausted. Forgetting that she was wearing a short skirt, our little Demon Lord was completely unaware as she sprawled out like a starfish
“My magic power is gone again. I wasted all of today’s sunbathing. This is too hard…” Muttering complaints, Eiru was still heartbroken over the magic power she’d used. She really didn’t have the energy to worry about being exposed right now. Besides, there was no one else on the rooftop…
As she lay there, the little Demon Lord suddenly yawned again. Her remaining magic reserves were directly linked to her mental state, so drowsiness inevitably crept up again after using so much power.
“Gulu… come here, give me a hug…” Sitting up from the ground, the Demon Lord reached out toward the cat in the distance, asking for it to come and cuddle.
However, the big cat ignored her, continuing to lie in place and groom its paws.
“Gulu! Come here!” With hands planted between her legs, the girl puffed out her cheeks, with annoyance all over her face. At this rate, if that cat kept ignoring her, she’d probably charge over and kidnap it.

Seeing the girl’s expression, Gulu cleverly chose to comply. It slowly walked over to the Demon Lord, who joyfully hugged it.
After perking up a bit through cat therapy, Eiru figured it was almost time for their lunch break. Planning to return to the dorm first, she reached for her pocket and discovered a serious problem…
“Where are my keys?” The Demon Lord was dumbfounded. After thinking for a moment, she remembered that while changing clothes, she’d casually put the keys in her nightgown pocket.
“You’re not afraid of heights, are you? I need to fly us back down.” The little Demon Lord looked down and asked, even if she knew that the cat didn’t understand her.
Regardless of whether the cat agreed or not, since she couldn’t get through the door, she’d obviously have to fly in through the balcony.
