Demon King – Chapter 35 – The Demon Lord Can Cook Too!
Translator Note
Thanks laptop444 for the chapter!“Oh crap…” Holding the cat, the little Demon Lord floated between the 14th and 15th floors, slowly poking her head out from outside the balcony and saw her roommates in her dorm.
“Seriously, aren’t they eating lunch? They came back this fast?” Muttering to herself, Eiru pressed her body against the building’s recessed area.
Though this side of the balcony was fairly secluded, it was still better to hide as much as possible to avoid being spotted if someone decided to walk by.
“Where did Eiru go? Didn’t he skip class?” Jixian leaned back in his chair, turning to ask Yuki.
“Probably went to eat? Since he doesn’t attend classes, he can go before dismissal and avoid the lines.”
“Let’s have him bring us food then. The cafeteria’s too crowded—I don’t even want to go over there.”
Because their classes dragged out a bit longer, by the time the three reached the cafeteria, they saw queues stretching almost to the entrance and gave up immediately. They decided to return to the dorm first and go back when there were fewer people.
“Wait a second?” Ziyu suddenly thought of something. “Yuki, I remember you saying he used to commute and ate outside, right?”
“Yeah, why?”

“Then… does he even have money in his meal plan? Refilling it is such a hassle…”
“Probably… not?” Yuki answered somewhat uncertainly.
Seventh High’s campus card was both a bank account and meal card, but the cafeteria only accepted meal card payments. Therefore, to eat in the cafeteria, you first had to load money into the bank account, then go to machines at the cafeteria entrance to transfer money into the meal card.
Even then, the money on the meal card would still be frozen and unusable—you’d have to go to a window inside the cafeteria to activate and unfreeze the funds.
This cumbersome and pointless process was criticized by many students, and deemed unnecessary. Just needing to go through two whole steps made the students groan in frustration.
Most students, to avoid the hassle, would put in several weeks’ or months’ worth of meal card money at once.
“If he doesn’t have a meal card, he’d buy meal tickets, right?” Of course, the cafeteria did have meal tickets. People unwilling to waste time with meal cards would simply give up on cards and buy tickets instead.
“Let’s have him use mobile payment…” With a mischievous grin, Jixian’s comment made the other two burst into laughter.
“You’re so evil…”

That’s right—Seventh High’s cafeteria and school store supported mobile payments, leaving many people surprised that the school had actually kept up with the times…
As mentioned before, Seventh High didn’t allow students to bring phones privately. Each class collected their every Monday, only returning them Friday evening. Between those times, phones discovered by the school would be confiscated until the end of the semester.
What if cafeteria staff saw you pull out a phone to pay, in a place where phones weren’t allowed… what do you think would happen?
This was… entrapment at its finest.
“Mrow…”
“Shut up, no meowing!” Covering the cat’s mouth with her hand, the Demon Lord cancelled Gulu’s “wild roar” skill cast. Both human and cat hid outside, eavesdropping on the conversation inside…
“Anyway, let’s wait for Eiru to come back before we go eat. Having someone in the dorm means we don’t need to lock the door, right?”
Hearing this, the little Demon Lord thought for a moment, then simply tossed the cat in her arms through the balcony into the dorm.
“What the hell?” Seeing Gulu ‘fly’ in from the balcony, all three in the dorm jumped in fright.
The feline executed a perfect nine hundred degree spin, landing steadily on the ground. It shook itself off as if nothing had happened…

Looking curiously toward the balcony, they naturally saw nothing since the culprit had already vanished. The three turned to stare at the big cat sitting on the floor, completely baffled.
“What’s Eiru up to… why isn’t he back yet?” Over half an hour had passed, and the three still hadn’t seen their roommate return.
“Let’s go, let’s just eat. It probably isn’t very crowded anymore.” Their stomachs were already growling. At Ziyu’s suggestion, the three stood up, no longer planning on waiting.
Just then the door opened, and Eiru in male form entered carrying a large bag, which he placed on the table.
“You’re finally back! What’s all this? Wow, it smells amazing…” Yuki said, as he smelled the aroma coming from the bag.
“Pickled vegetable fried rice… I made it. I made enough for you guys too, so eat up.” As he spoke, Eiru laid out bowls and chopsticks.
Seeing that the three hadn’t eaten, the little Demon Lord remembered she still had some ingredients at her rental apartment. Since Yuki had brought her food yesterday, cooking today was no big deal…
So she’d flown back to her apartment to make fried rice, packed it up, and hurried back.
“Mmm! Not bad at all… you’ve got skills.”

“If you let the girls at school try your cooking, I don’t think you’d have trouble finding a girlfriend.”
Aside from Yuki, who’d eaten her cooking countless times, the other two expressed genuine appreciation for Eiru’s culinary skills.
Hearing their praise, Eiru picked up Gulu and started rubbing the cat, feeling quite proud…
“Alright, look how smug you’re getting, housewife Eiru.” Yuki lightly tapped Eiru’s head teasingly.
“You’re the housewife! I’m going to stew you later!” Eiru bristled once again.
Ever since this guy had eaten her cooking once, he kept coming over to mooch off her. Not only did he freeload food and drinks, but he’d somehow given her the “housewife” title… Eiru couldn’t stand for this.
This guy was too awful—if they weren’t that close, she probably would’ve stewed him already. Though now that she was a loli, she might actually end up marrying someone and becoming a real housewife…
At that thought, Eiru shuddered and quickly banished the idea from her mind.
