Demon King – Chapter 384 – The Short Holiday Is Over

The short holiday is over.

“Anyway, I don’t agree… even if I agreed, you still wouldn’t get past Mom and Dad.”

The little Demon Lord shook her head, making it clear there was no room for negotiation on this matter.

“Why not? Even if the public security over here isn’t great, you can protect me, right? As for the environment… sis, I actually don’t have a single friend around me. Wherever I go, it’s all the same…”

When she reached the latter part, Eiya’s tone carried a hint of disappointment.

At school, Eiya was the cold and aloof goddess-level school beauty. In order to play the role of a good and obedient girl, she suppressed her lively nature that was no worse than Eiru’s. Her keep-your-distance attitude, excessive protection at home, and the constant unease filling her heart meant that she had almost no friends overlapping between school and daily life.

After Jiaqi went abroad and her sister “went bad” and started living alone outside, there really was no one left around Eiya that she could confide in or play with.

What’s more, Jiaqi and Eiru were both at Seventh High now. If she was left alone at her original school, she was afraid she really would end up suffocating herself into madness.

“What do you want me to say? And it’s still the same thing. Even if I agree, what about Mom and Dad? Do you think they’d feel at ease letting you run over here?”

Her Majesty the Demon Lord covered her face with one hand. Given how much Ei Yuan and Liu Wan doted on Eiya, it was more likely they’d turn around and make her do Eiya’s ideological work, telling her not to come to Seventh High.

That would be the better case. If the two elders thought she had bewitched Eiya into wanting to come to Seventh High… just thinking about it, Eiru could already foresee the two of them getting chewed out head-on.

“If they don’t agree, I’ll make a fuss. I’ll fuss until they agree.”

Eiya sat up, hands on her hips, looking extremely smug.

“Don’t. My little grandaunt, if you pull that stunt, all the trouble will land on my head.”

Listening to her own sister, Eiru felt her head starting to ache.

‘Back then she was such a cute little angel of a younger sister. How did she grow crooked into such a willful little demon? Once she started throwing a tantrum, she didn’t consider the consequences at all.

‘And even if Mom and Dad agreed, they’d probably have the whole family move to the Eastern District together. Then how was she supposed to hide her demon race identity? Little Ya, are you trying to drive your dear older brother out of the house?’’

“Anyway, I’m coming over to stay with you. I’ve already decided. Even if you don’t agree, you have to agree. When the time comes, I’ll move all my stuff over, and the two of us will live together…”

“But this is Stupid Yuki’s place. You’re moving here?”

Tilting her head, Eiru sat up with her sister and pointed at the bed board beneath her.

“Don’t play dumb. You know I mean your single apartment!”

“Do whatever you want, do whatever you want. I can’t argue with you anyway…”

Eiru hugged her head and flopped back onto the bed.

“I bet you that even if you make a fuss all the way to Grandma, Mom and Dad still won’t agree to this.”

“That’s not necessarily true. I can learn from you. Pretend I’ve gone bad and then I can run over here, right?”

Eiya hummed smugly, looking like she had everything calculated.

“Then go use your head to skip grades… how is it that sometimes you’re just this stupid?”

The little Demon Lord rolled her eyes at her, and what she got in return was a barrage of pillows raining down on her head.

“You’re the stupid one! You stupid sister!”

“Stop stop stop, don’t hit me, I was wrong, okay, I was wrong!”

The two sisters were in the middle of their noisy tussle when a sudden knock on the door outside interrupted them. A moment later, Yuki’s voice came from outside.

“You two young ladies, it’s already twelve. Time to go to sleep.”

Because the two girls were making quite a racket, and after confirming it wasn’t some inconvenient-to-disturb situation, Yuki pushed the door open and smiled at the two girls.

“How could we possibly fall asleep? You know how late we woke up today.”

Eiru made a face at Yuki. She was planning to pull an all-nighter tonight and go wild.

Eiya at the side nodded in agreement. After staying with her sister for a while, this silly-cute girl who was about half a jin away from her sister had also started getting a bit rebellious.

Seeing his little girlfriend’s reaction, a bright smile instantly appeared on Yuki’s face.

‘What, you don’t remember the aftermath of going wild last night? You still want to seek death again today?’

Seeing the look on Yuki’s face, the little Demon Lord’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately sensed something bad.

‘This guy is about to pull something on me again? No good, I need to think of a way to run.’

“Lu Brat, if you can’t stay up late, then don’t stay up late. Didn’t you promise me you’d take good care of yourself and not wreck your body?”

As he spoke, Yuki quickly walked up to his little girlfriend and reached out to grab her tail.

“Wait? Why are you grabbing my tail? What are you doing?”

“That’s right, that’s right. Brother Yuki is right about this. You’re just too naughty. You really need to pay attention to protecting yourself.”

Eiya nodded, agreeing with Yuki, earning only a look from her sister like she was looking at an alien.

‘Damn it, don’t act like you’re uninvolved. Weren’t you the same as me, planning to go wild even though you can’t stay up late? We’re clearly accomplices. How did you end up switching sides?’

“But even if you say that, I still can’t fall asleep…”

The little Demon Lord said shakily. In response, Yuki only gave a meaningful smile.

“It’s fine. Didn’t little Eiya make some no-side-effects, super-effective ‘sleeping pills’ just for you?”

As Yuki spoke, he took out a few small balls that were extremely familiar to the two of them.

“Ah, I really envy you guys. Even if your biological clocks are messed up, you can adjust them back so conveniently…”

“Wait? Don’t use that. I don’t want to lose face!”

Compared to Eiru, Eiya’s reaction was actually even bigger, but it was obvious that neither of the sisters could escape anymore.

As the scent of lavender spread, Yuki tucked the now-quiet sisters in properly. Before leaving, he even thoughtfully turned off the lights and closed the door for them.

The remaining days of the short holiday were all spent by Eiru and Eiya at Yuki’s house. When Yuki had time, he would also take them out to eat or stroll around nearby. Occasionally, Jiaqi would also come over and mess around together with the three of them.

Time flew by in the blink of an eye. On the last night of the holiday, after being picked up and brought home, Eiya finished her shower and, with practiced ease, dyed her hair black before heading to her room to pack her things.

She still had school the next day. After checking all her belongings and getting everything ready, Eiya climbed into bed. While preparing to sleep, she also considered finding a time to discuss the issue of skipping grades with her parents.

A night passed.

“Little Ya, get up. We’re heading out first. Breakfast is on the table, remember to eat it. Your Uncle Ling has something to do today, so he’s not taking you. Remember not to be late.”

Still half-asleep, Eiya was woken early in the morning by her parents’ shouting from the living room.

As the sound of the front door closing echoed, the whole house fell quiet. Rubbing her bleary eyes, Eiya slowly climbed out of bed.

Standing in front of the wardrobe, the little girl prepared to change clothes while yawning, glancing at herself in the full-length mirror beside her.

Silver-white long hair, blue eyes. The girl in the mirror hadn’t changed at all. She was still a silver-haired girl looking a bit tired from just waking up.

Wait.

Eiya rubbed her eyes. Sensing something was wrong, she looked back at herself in the mirror again.

“Ahhhhhhh!”

The room was instantly drowned out by the girl’s somewhat childish scream.
