Demon King – Chapter 43 – The Little Demon Lord’s Teddy Bear
Demon King – Chapter 43 – The Little Demon Lord’s Teddy Bear
For convenience, the little Demon Lord had ordered several sets of middle school and high school uniforms for her true form. Plus, uniforms weren’t expensive and came with guaranteed quality…
Since these were among the few quality outfits she owned, the Demon Lord treasured these uniforms… and she really did like the school’s formal uniform.
After returning to her rental apartment and setting down her things, Eiru first went to the full-length mirror facing the living room, slightly lifting her skirt hem and spun around a few times.
“Hmm hmm hmm…” Looking at the mirror, the little Demon Lord made satisfied sounds, like a proud little swan.
She’d left the dorm in a hurry earlier, and the dorm mirror was too small anyway, so she hadn’t had a chance to show off. After all, since she rarely wore nice clothes, the Demon Lord naturally wanted to properly admire herself in the mirror.
A white long-sleeved shirt, coupled with a coffee-colored plaid jumper dress and white ceremonial gloves on her hands. Her legs were wrapped in pure white stockings, topped with coffee-colored round-toe shoes.
They say black stockings make you look skinnier while white ones make you look thicker. Possibly due to her outstanding figure, the little Demon Lord’s slender legs weren’t affected visually in the slightest. After all, aside from her barren chest, the little Demon Lord’s figure could be described as perfect.

This middle school girls’ formal uniform gave off an obedient and cute aura when she wore it. Though due to her height, it looked somewhat childish…
Taking off her shoes and changing into slippers, Eiru returned to her room. Going back to her bed and lying down, she dragged out a large box from under the bed.
Opening the box and rummaging through it, the little Demon Lord took out two pillow-sized plushies, then pulled out a teddy bear even bigger than herself.
A 1.5-meter-tall teddy bear being hugged by a loli just over 1.4 meters created quite a comical scene. And this teddy bear’s quality made it look completely unlike something a certain Demon Lord could afford.
Not counting Gulu, this teddy bear was Eiru’s favorite thing to hug while sleeping at night. But though she loved it, she rarely brought out this oversized teddy bear.
It was partly due to embarrassment—after all, she was supposed to be a man on the outside, so she was afraid of people seeing her like cute and fluffy things. Partly because she especially treasured it and was afraid of damaging it.

After all, it was comfortable to hug and frighteningly expensive—probably the most expensive thing in the entire apartment.
Back to the earlier question: given the Demon Lord’s financial situation, she absolutely couldn’t afford something like that. So where did this teddy bear come from?
Actually, it was a birthday gift from Yuki last year… One day last year, he suddenly came over and Eiru hadn’t had time to clean up the plushies on her bed, and he’d seen them…
The little Demon Lord still remembered her embarrassment then, but Yuki hadn’t mocked her. After being caught by him, that guy had actually brought her this super-sized teddy bear on her birthday.
That day, Eiru had been so happy she’d rolled around on the bed with the teddy bear all evening. She’d only fallen asleep sprawled on top of the teddy bear after getting tired from rolling around.
After all, given how other people perceived her, basically nobody gave her any gifts. Therefore, every gift, no matter what it was or who gave it, was something that Eiru would treasure.
Letting down her ponytail, the little Demon Lord hugged the teddy bear and flopped directly onto the bed. Lying on top of the oversized plushie with her face buried in it, cuddling it like she was acting spoiled.

“Mmm~” Fluffy things really were the best. With that thought, after rubbing her cheek against the plushie a few times, the Demon Lord closed her eyes with a blissful expression…
As the silver-haired girl lay on the large teddy bear below, she slept very soundly. Her huge wings drooped on the bed, looking like blankets from afar. Her ridiculously long tail lay across the bed, part of it hanging over the edge to the floor.
“Mm, hug me~” In a voice sweet enough to be coquettish, the sleeping little Demon Lord displayed her inner self while completely defenseless…
“Speaking of which, shouldn’t we buy something for housewife Lu? Can he even afford a birthday cake? Didn’t you say he’s super poor, Yuki?” During break time, Ziyu came over to ask the two.
“He is very poor—desperate poor, or hungry poor. I didn’t buy a gift for him this year, so I secretly ordered him a cake.”
“That’s nice Yuki, you won’t poison it with something he doesn’t like, will you?”

“Of course not. I know very clearly what he likes and dislikes. Plus, as long as it’s sweet, Eiru will like it.” Yuki smiled contemptuously. Three years of friendship had let him figure out Eiru’s preferences completely.
He liked crunchy things and had suddenly started liking sweets two years ago. Except for wasabi and ginger, he didn’t eat anything spicy—encountering even a tiny bit of chili would make him start breathing fire on the spot…
He had a pretty wide range of hobbies—he liked both gundams and weapons, as well as cute dolls and plushies. Yuki believed he’d thoroughly understood Eiru’s daily habits and personality preferences.
He dared say that even including his parents, no one understood this best friend better than he did. Barring special circumstances, he knew exactly where Eiru would be at any given time.
His incredibly dishonest best friend should be sleeping soundly in his rental apartment right now, probably either hugging several plushies or that teddy bear he’d given him…
