Demon King – Chapter 44 – Little Sister Eiru Goes Out
Yawning, she slowly got up. The silver-haired girl sat across the teddy bear, gently rubbing her eyes with her hands.
Supporting herself with both hands in front, the girl flapped her wings like a small animal shaking off water.
“Mm… how long did I sleep for?” In a daze, the little Demon Lord picked up her phone from beside her to check the time. Her tail cooperatively formed a question mark behind her…
The phone showed 3 PM, making the Demon Lord’s pupils contract… She’d actually slept for over five hours?
“Uwah! I even slept through lunch time… I’m supposed to be a Demon Lord, but I want to live a life where clothes come when I reach out and food comes when I open my mouth too.” Tossing her phone aside, Eiru sprawled on her teddy bear before complaining.
Complaints aside, the cake pickup was scheduled for 4 PM. Despite her reluctance, the little Demon Lord jumped down from the bed, took off her gloves, and headed toward the kitchen…
She didn’t eat much anyway, and if she ate too much now, she probably wouldn’t be able to eat dinner. The Demon Lord fried herself two egg pancakes—just enough to pad her stomach without getting too full.
While nibbling on the food wrapped in a paper bag, the little Demon Lord browsed that cake shop’s mobile platform.

It wasn’t very far—about a half-hour walk from here? Looking at the time, there were still over 40 minutes left, so she could make it. After all, it was just a small cake, so being a little late wouldn’t matter.
As for why she chose pickup instead of delivery, it was because our Demon Lord believed in saving money whenever possible—after all, she could just walk.
“No more disguising myself. I’m gonna consider this practice.” After finishing her food and tying her hair in a ponytail, and putting on her shoes and gloves, Eiru headed out.
After all, living in the school dorms inevitably meant more time disguised as a boy. More time being disguised meant that she consumed more magic.
Normally, she just needed to avoid being seen in her non-human form or while she was transforming. Unless absolutely necessary, it was better to save her mana and stay in her true form whenever possible.
Though Eiru tried to dress herself up nicely, it was really just for herself. The Demon Lord was actually quite afraid of raising suspicion and rarely interacted with others in her true form.
Now the situation was different. If she stuck to her old habits, she might actually run out of mana. So the little Demon Lord had to compromise and adapt to interacting with others in her true form to reduce magic consumption.
Using magic to disable the hallway camera, the little Demon Lord walked out her door. After straightening her skirt and using her tail to close the door behind her, she went on her toes to make sure that her shoes were secure. Then the little Demon Lord retracted her wings and tail into her body and headed toward the stairwell…

“Yuki, what’s the plan? Leave right after school?” Before their last class that afternoon, Ziyu came over to Yuki and Jixian again to ask.
Since it was Friday, they only had three classes this afternoon. And since the last class was PE, Ziyu came to check on Yuki.
Unlike middle school, PE wasn’t a college entrance exam subject. And during this time, they had better things to do—these honor students would rather stay in the classroom and self-study than attend PE.
After the last class ended, they could go home. Honestly, no matter what subject the class was, probably no one would be in the mood to attend. The school probably knew this and deliberately scheduled these classes’ final period to be PE.
The PE teacher understood this too, so they made it basically free time as long as they didn’t disturb other classes.
Most students lived quite far away and either had someone pick them up or took the school bus. So the school wasn’t actually concerned about people skipping PE.
Even if someone really planned to skip, the school was in a pretty remote area—the nearest bus or subway station was a half-hour walk. If someone was willing to walk half an hour under the blazing sun, they’d probably achieve the PE class’s fitness goals anyways.
“No, we’re leaving in a bit. When the cake gets delivered, we’ll meet at the grove by the side gate wall, then climb over and escape…”

The two looked at Yuki with horror. Though they’d known each other for a year and knew this model student wasn’t some aloof boss or bookworm, hearing the class valedictorian say such things was truly shocking.
“Why are you looking at me like that? You’ve ordered takeout before—you know where to pick it up, right? School doesn’t care about the last class anyway.”
“No, it’s nothing. We’ll follow your lead. But just the three of us going?”
“Going where?” They talked a bit too loud, so the girl sitting in front of Jixian heard their conversation and turned around to ask. Her deskmate, a girl who looked remarkably similar, also turned around curiously.
“Nothing, just going to celebrate one of Yuki’s close friend’s birthday, who’s also our new roommate afterschool.” Ziyu explained to the two girls, though obviously he couldn’t mention their plan to climb the wall and escape.
“Who is it?” The girl in front of Jixian turned around, crossing her arms on Jixian’s desk and asking curiously.
The girl beside her didn’t speak but also leaned over slightly, looking pretty interested too.
“You’d probably be scared if I told you…” Lowering his voice, Jixian put on a mysterious expression. Seeing him like this, the two girls in front became even more curious…

“Come on, Mousse Cake, just tell us.” Curious now, the girl somewhat irritably punched Jixian.
Mousse Cake was somehow Jixian’s nickname, which had a pretty silly origin. When Jixian was chatting in the class group, he tried typing his name but his phone froze. While frantically tapping his phone, the smart input automatically typed “Jixian admires mousse cake”…
After that, someone turned off the smart input function and never turned it back on…
“It’s the King of Seventh High, the great Demon Lord Eiru! Scary, right?” After saying this, Jixian burst into laughter.
His laughter gradually died down because he noticed that everyone in front of him was looking at him like he was an idiot…
All four looked at him with the same thought: such a handsome guy—how was he so stupid?
