Demon King – Chapter 450 – Yuki’s Parents

She had been in chaos for who knew how long, until a certain wife-protecting maniac returned and pulled Her Majesty the Demon Lord back to reality with his voice.

“Lu Brat? Lu Brat?”

Grabbing her shoulders and shaking her a little, Yuki took one look at her and knew this stupid girl had once again wrapped herself up in a mess of random thoughts.

Her Majesty the Demon Lord’s multi-threaded brain, while terrifyingly powerful in terms of processing ability, had one fatal flaw. Once she fell into tangled indecision, every single thread would go all-in on thinking about questions that had no answers.

It was like a top-tier, maxed-out computer running a single line of faulty code at full power. It would spin uselessly, calculate nothing, and if it ran long enough, might even crash.

That was exactly why Yuki had always avoided bringing up certain troublesome topics with his little girlfriend, so she wouldn’t trap herself like this. And yet, this girl still managed to get herself tangled up because of someone else’s problem.

“Eh? Huh? Stupid Yuki?”

Holding her head and looking adorably dumb, the little Demon Lord stared at Yuki in confusion.

“Stop thinking. Empty your head. Let yourself go, that’s your style. Don’t think about all that useless crap.”

Patting Eiru’s head, Yuki let out a sigh.

Even though he didn’t know exactly what she had been thinking about, making her empty her head was definitely the right move. With that thought, Yuki shot a slightly reproachful glance at the other two roommates. Both of them guiltily looked away.

“Alright, let’s go. I’ve sorted out the leave paperwork. Didn’t you say you wanted to come home with me?”

Jixian and Ziyu suddenly felt a strong urge to complain. Yuki’s subtle phrasing, combined with the scene in front of them, looked exactly like a creepy uncle abducting a dumb, innocent girl. Or a creepy teenager.

“Eh? Okay…”

Hearing that, the little Demon Lord instinctively stretched out her arms toward him, looking like she wanted to be carried. But in the next moment, she snapped back to her senses and hurriedly pulled her hands back.

“What’s wrong?”

Yuki, who was just about to pick her up, couldn’t help but feel confused seeing her reaction.

“I, I, I… you like me, but I haven’t liked you yet. And we’re both boys, and still good brothers… acting cute isn’t appropriate.”

Clearly, Her Majesty the Demon Lord still hadn’t fully woken up from her confusion.

“Enough, stop thinking so much. You’re just a stupid girl.”

Without any further discussion, Yuki scooped the girl up. At this point, he finally understood what she had been thinking about.

“No! I’m a macho man!”

Eiru protested verbally, but her body was very honest and didn’t resist at all. She even rubbed against him like a little kitten, adjusting her position in his arms, carrying a faintly tsundere vibe.

Of course, Eiru wasn’t actually tsundere. She simply hadn’t turned that corner in her head yet and was still treating herself as a boy. Her body, however, followed the instincts of being a girl, as well as her desire to find someone to rely on.

“Mhm mhm, macho man… then the macho man should be good and obedient for now. Don’t think about anything.”

Skillfully coaxing the problematic girl in his arms, Yuki once again displayed his male-mom attributes. Or you could call it boyfriend power. It was just that compared to a girlfriend, this girl was more like a clingy child.

“Hic, I’m full. I don’t even need dinner anymore…”

Watching the two leave, Ziyu let out a satisfied burp.

“By the way, son, today you…”

Just as he turned his head, Ziyu realized that Jixian had already taken out his phone.

“Holy shit, no way? Don’t tell me you—”

Before he could finish, Jixian’s phone rang. And the two characters displayed on the caller ID, Linlin, stabbed straight into his eyes.

Great. Just finished watching one couple and here came another. If before it was just joking around, now Ziyu genuinely felt like he didn’t need dinner tonight.

“Stupid Yuki, what kind of person is your dad?”

Holding Yuki’s hand as they walked along the road, the little Demon Lord, now back to normal, asked curiously.

“Don’t be scared. He’ll be your dad in the future too. Your future father-in-law.”

Yuki teased with a grin, earning himself a flustered punch to the waist from his little girlfriend.

“Get lost. Be serious and stop teasing me all the time, okay? I’m just curious. Haven’t I told you before? I’ve known you forever and never seen him.”

Eiru knew very well that Yuki’s dad had always worked out of town. Even though he had been transferred back not long ago, she still hadn’t seen him the several times she went to Yuki’s place.

On top of that, Yuki rarely talked about this elusive dad of his. No, not elusive. More like someone whose face you never even got to see. As his good brother and best buddy, wouldn’t it be weird not to be curious?

“How should I put it? He’s a pretty serious person… but also very open-minded. Compared to my mom, my dad is actually easy to get along with. You don’t need to worry too much.”

When Yuki was younger, he often wouldn’t see his father for an entire year. His memories of spending time with him were very limited. But basically, every time his father came back, he treated Yuki with a lot of care and affection, leaving no bad impressions.

After his job was transferred back, the father and son spent more time together. Compared to Yuki’s mom, who liked to meddle in everything, this mysterious dad was extremely laid-back in those areas.

For example, when it came to friendships, Yuki’s mom took it very seriously. When he was in middle school, she had even forbidden him from associating with riffraff like Eiru. Even now, Yuki and Eiru’s relationship was still being kept secret from her, carried out underground.

If friendships were already like that, dating was even more impossible. Yuki’s mom was absolutely against puppy love. She believed that high school students should focus entirely on studying, and that those fox spirits outside would only corrupt her precious son.

Yuki’s dad, on the other hand, was completely different. He took a hands-off attitude, never prying too much into his son’s social life. He trusted Yuki’s judgment in making friends, believing that excessive interference would only limit his social ability and social circle.

On ordinary days, if there was nothing major going on, he wouldn’t bother Yuki with questions at all. When he had time, he would take Yuki out to broaden his horizons, or eat out and chat to maintain their father-son relationship.

Looked at positively, this kind of attitude was called open-minded. Looked at negatively, it was called not caring and slacking off. Parenting like Yuki’s father’s required a very high level of self-discipline from the child.

Fortunately, Yuki was a sensible and self-disciplined kid. He could take care of himself in daily life, handle big and small matters properly, and didn’t really need others to worry about him.

So when comparing the two parents, even though his mom had spent more time accompanying him, objectively speaking, Yuki still liked his dad more. A parent who never puts pressure on their child. What kid would dislike that?

“Relax. He’ll definitely like you. After all, you’re so cute, right? And once we tell him about us, he definitely won’t oppose it.”

Seeing the concern in Eiru’s heart, Yuki spoke while reaching out to hook her nose with a finger.
