Demon King – Chapter 490 – None of the Demon Lords in History Were Lolis
“You little thing. Don’t be this mischievous!”
Eiya roared. Watching a certain little creature bouncing all over the room like a husky on crack, she felt like her whole being was about to split apart.
“I believe it now. You really are my sister’s kid. You’re exactly as hyper as she is. My sister is at least a little better than you!”
After the little thing woke up, Eiya was shocked to discover that this unidentified creature could actually understand human speech, something it had apparently learned during its time in Dorm 1503. But as everyone knew, much like huskies, understanding and being willing to listen were two completely different things.
Mischievous as it was, Hulu only bounded around the room, not breaking anything or chewing on random stuff. And the way it acted all affectionate toward people was actually quite endearing to Eiya, making it hard for her to get genuinely angry at it.
What did bother her a bit, though, was that when the little thing first woke up, it lifted its head and stared at her in confusion for a while, then suddenly looked like it had an epiphany. She had no idea how she could tell, but that was just the feeling it gave her.
‘Because I look a lot like my sister? Did it mistake me for her at first? But logically speaking… she was the one who turned into a girl later, so why is my appearance drifting toward hers?’
She felt annoyed thinking about it, but what she cared about most right now was how to make the little thing calm down. Their parents were still outside. If they found out there was a small animal in the house, that would be a huge problem.
Fortunately, Jiaqi had also told her that Hulu accepted any kind of food and could eat pretty much anything. But eating was just an interest for it, not a necessity, so it was fine even if she did not feed it. That at least made things much easier.

Otherwise, for the next few days she would have had to leave leftovers every meal and say she was taking them back to her room to eat. Please. Did they think this was a TV drama or a manga? What parents would actually allow you to bring food back to your room?
“Please, behave yourself. Otherwise I’ll really call my sister over to spank you. Are you scared?”
Eiya tried to scare it using her sister’s name, but what she got in return was a somewhat… disdainful look from the little thing?
That smug little expression seemed to say ‘her?’. Feeling her dear sister being looked down on by such a tiny creature, Eiya almost could not hold back her laughter.
“Be good, okay? Later I’ll give you something tasty to eat, alright?”
The moment those words came out, Hulu immediately stopped jumping around and flopped straight onto the bed. Its bright, watery eyes stared at Eiya full of anticipation, looking as obedient and well-behaved as possible.
‘Great. So it’s a foodie just like my sister. Does that mean this kid takes after the mom?’
Eiya complained internally as she sat down at the desk and started tidying up the things on it.
Hulu tilted its head, staring at Eiya’s back as if observing something. After a while, it suddenly jumped up and landed on Eiya’s head, just like how it usually stayed on Eiru’s head, and sprawled there.

She was startled at first, but after realizing it seemed to just be acting clingy, Eiya relaxed and continued cleaning up the desk.
With her attention back on the desk, Eiya did not notice that after tilting its head again, the patterns on the little creature lying on her head suddenly began to glow faintly.
As if catalyzing something, after a while the glow slowly faded, and Hulu showed a satisfied expression. Resting its chin on top of Eiya’s head, it went limp like it had exhausted a huge amount of magic power, collapsing softly against her hair.

After reading through the girls’ memories and inner journeys, to be honest, the little Demon Lord felt pretty awful inside.
Yaoyao included, the girl soaking in the tank right now. Every single one of them had been thinking about others, never really thinking about themselves, and never harboring hatred toward anyone.
Enough. The most urgent thing right now was to get this girl out of the tank. Adjusting her emotions, Eiru began studying the complex instruments placed beside Yaoyao.
Although she did not understand these things very deeply, with magic as an all-purpose cheat plus her absurd computational ability, analyzing and controlling these instrument systems was not particularly difficult. It just took time.

Placing both hands on the instruments, her magic transformed into electrical signals and began affecting the internal components. Her Majesty the Demon Lord was rarely acting as an electrician and hacker at the same time, analyzing the structure and functions of the devices while also cracking the system to seize control.
But through this contact, she became even more certain that there really was some kind of object inside the instruments, producing things related to the Amber Crystal. And this thing was also maintaining and stabilizing Yaoyao’s bodily condition. It seemed that what was being injected through those needles was precisely this substance.
However, because the internal structure was quite complex, the little Demon Lord’s main focus for now was still on cracking the system and analyzing its functions. As for figuring out exactly what that thing inside was, that could only be postponed.
“By the way, do the bodies of Daughters of Amber Crystal get fixed and stop growing? Why are you still… so small after all this time?”
While cracking the system, Eiru finally asked a question she had wanted to ask earlier. Is this Amber Crystal a lolicon? Why does it only pick girls, and even the ones that survive are not allowed to grow up?
“No. Although I’m not too sure of the exact reason, I think it’s probably because of you…”
Yaoyao’s voice sounded a bit helpless. It seemed that deep down, every girl still longed to grow up.
“Me again? But now that you mention it, Little Ya seems to be the same…”
Being reminded like this, Eiru also recalled that her little sister had also been shrinking in height and having her appearance drift toward her own.

So is all of this really related to me? But all the Demon Lords of past generations were clearly busty, mature big sisters. I’m the only girl. And the other Daughters of Amber Crystal do not look like me either… As Her Majesty the Demon Lord was thinking, a voice suddenly sounded from behind her, cutting her thoughts short.
“Took me a while to find you. So you ran down here in the end, huh?”
The murderous tone made the little Demon Lord freeze mid-motion. Turning her head, she saw the director standing not far away, holding a steel rod.
Perhaps stimulated by the silver-haired girl attribute, and also mistaking her for harming his granddaughter, the director’s gaze toward Eiru looked like it could spew fire, as if he wanted to dunk her straight into a tank on the spot. He was completely different from the kind old grandfather she had seen upstairs.
But after calming down a bit, there was also a hint of excitement in the director’s eyes. It had been a long time since he found a Daughter of Amber Crystal. No matter what, he could at least get one more test subject.
The director did recognize Eiru. Since the information did not match, he originally had no intention of going after her. But now that she had delivered herself to his doorstep, there was no reason for him to let go of a girl who seemed to have connections to the Daughters of Amber Crystal.
“I recognize you. Since you’ve seen all this, you’ll have to stay here today.”
