Demon King – Chapter 652 – Luring the Tiger Away from the Mountain

“Little princess, long time no see. How’ve you been lately?”

Squatting in front of Eiru, Ziyu reached out to try and flick her nose teasingly, while casually setting a box of takeout down in front of Yuki.

After finishing their meal, the few of them figured there was no more noise inside, so they naturally came back. The moment they stepped in, though, they saw a certain girl curled up inside their roommate’s coat. The dog food hit them so suddenly they were caught completely off guard.

“Awooh!”

Feeling uncomfortable from the nose flick, the little Demon Lord, who was wrapped up so tightly that only her small head was showing, could only express her displeasure by snapping her teeth at his finger.

“Ow. Your wife bites people, Brother Yuki. Control her.”

Ziyu was glad he pulled his hand back fast enough. Though to be fair, it was also because she hadn’t actually meant to bite him. If Her Majesty the Demon Lord really got serious, her reaction speed was basically cheating. Hitting them would be like a dimensionality reduction strike.

Yuki lowered his head to look at the little head nestled against his chest and smiled helplessly before continuing to dig into his dinner. Fine, bite if you want. If it hurts, that’s on you.

“By the way, little princess, are you back for good? Or just stopping by to take a look?”

Jixian asked the question all of them were really concerned about. To be honest, without a cute girl running around the dorm lately, they still felt a bit unaccustomed to it, even though this was supposed to be a boys’ dorm.

“I snuck out. I might go back later, or maybe I won’t?”

The Demon Lord tilted her head, then looked up at the head above her.

“Stupid Yuki, stupid Yuki, do I still have any clothes left in the dorm?”

“Nope. All your clothes were taken back. Your boy mode clothes too.”

Yuki felt a bit regretful. He really should’ve left her a couple of outfits just in case. This was definitely an oversight.

If it were summer, it wouldn’t matter. He could just throw his clothes on her and let her wear them like a dress. But in this freezing weather, who would dare let her do that? Not to mention she probably didn’t even bring spare underwear.

“I see… but I just changed into new clothes, and I showered before coming. It’s not like I can’t stay here.”

Twisting her words to find reasons to stay, once she had actually come over, the little Demon Lord honestly didn’t really want to go back anymore.

“I don’t mind, but make sure you stay warm, dumb girl.”

Yuki originally wanted to flick her nose, but thinking about how his hands were greasy from eating, he gave up on the idea.

“But won’t your parents go looking for you?”

“Definitely. Didn’t she say she snuck out? We’ll have to think of a way to bluff it.”

“What do we do? Hiding from the dorm supervisor is easy, but what about people coming out to look for her? If we don’t handle it properly, the little princess is going to get into trouble when she goes back.”

True brothers through and through. The first thing on everyone’s mind wasn’t persuading Eiru to go back to avoid trouble, but figuring out how to help the girl stay the night while also dealing with the potential problems.

“Phone call. They’re probably looking for someone…”

In the middle of their discussion, Jiaqi’s phone suddenly rang. When he saw the caller ID, he rubbed his head with a headache.

“Brother Jiaqi, Brother Jiaqi… is my sister at your place?” He walked to the corner to answer the call, and Eiya’s voice came through the line.

“Yeah, she’s here. She snuck out to see us.”

Hearing how quiet and cautious Eiya sounded, Jiaqi also lowered his voice to match.

Even through the phone, he could hear how noisy it was on Eiya’s end. It was obvious she was secretly calling him to give a heads up.

“So that’s how it is. Mom and Dad brought me back and found she was gone. They’re rushing out to look for her now. They might call you later. Is she planning to stay over there?”

“Yeah, she does want to stay. I’ll get back to you later. You’ll have to help bluff your parents then.”

“OK OK, but I can’t guarantee I’ll definitely pull it off. Keep an eye on my sister, yeah. She didn’t bring clothes, right? Do you want me to find a chance to bring some over later?”

“Forget it. You little brat, take care of yourself first.”

Amused by Eiya’s suggestion, Jiaqi figured one girl was already trouble enough over here. If Eiya came too, it would be total chaos.

Besides, it got dark early in winter. Letting Eiya sneak out to wander around the Eastern District behind her parents’ backs was something Jiaqi definitely wouldn’t feel at ease about. Not to mention if her sister found out. Thinking that, he glanced back at the girl still curled up in the coat acting cute.

Eiya wanted to say something more, but since there was still no movement in the room, someone shouting outside quickly interrupted her.

“Little Ya, what are you doing in your room? We’re going out to look for your sister. Are you coming or not? If not, stay home and do your homework. Come out and eat first.”

Eiya answered loudly.

“Brother Jiaqi, I’m hanging up now. I’ll notify you if anything comes up later. Bye!”

Amid Jiaqi’s speechless reaction, the call ended with nothing but the beeping tone. When he put the phone down and looked back, he found that Eiru had been staring at him for who knows how long.

“You were on the phone for ages, and all sneaky about it. That was Little Ya, right?”

With a heavily teasing grin on her face, the sharp little Demon Lord did a quick bit of analysis and guessed exactly who he’d been talking to.

“Hey, what are you implying? Don’t make it sound like I have to sneak around just to call her. You’re making it sound like I’m in some secret relationship like you. Let me say it again. I only see her as a little sister.”

“I know. If you actually had thoughts like that, you wouldn’t be able to talk to Little Ya like this. You’d torture yourself into madness all on your own, coward Qi.”

As she spoke, Her Majesty the Demon Lord let out a snort of laughter.

‘Tch. If I’d been the one chasing you back then, I’d probably be roasted to death by now.’

Jiaqi thought with a face full of black lines. He then told her what was said on the call, informing her that a certain couple was currently heading out to look for her.

“Uh, that really is troublesome…”

Lowering her head to think for a moment, even though she had no intention of dealing with those two people, Eiru was still worried about causing trouble for her friends.

“But you said just now that they already went out? So Little Ya is the only one at home right now?”

“Yeah, that’s right…”

“That’s perfect. Stupid Yuki, come to my place. Stay at my place tonight.”

Before Jiaqi could finish speaking, the little Demon Lord cut him off and excitedly said to Yuki.

Honestly, she just wanted Yuki’s company. With those two not at home, wasn’t this the perfect luring the tiger away from the mountain? She could totally take Yuki back with her in one smooth move.

And with Eiya at home, she could help cover for them and also prevent that girl from getting impulsive and running over again. This was practically heaven helping her.
