Demon King – Chapter 67 – Genderbent?
As mentioned before, once our little demon lord enters forced hibernation, she begins violently absorbing all the surrounding energy. And the unfiltered energy, after being converted to mana, leaves impurities that can harm her body.
Although you can call them impurities, it’s essentially just leftover energy that cannot be used—they don’t accumulate in the body. But these impurities still have a considerable impact on Eiru.
First, like what’s happening now, they can damage internal organs or tissues. The reason Her Majesty the Demon Lord coughs up blood every time is due to that.
Second, they worsen some existing ailments in her body to a certain degree. Part of the reason the little demon lord’s joints hurt on cloudy and rainy days is due to improper treatment, but another part is because these impurities further aggravate the severity of her condition.
Fortunately, this situation doesn’t normally occur. Unless she’s unconscious, Her Majesty the Demon Lord’s body doesn’t automatically absorb the surrounding energy. However, when she actively absorbs it, she can manually filter the energy.
Even when sleeping, she only absorbs energy that comes into contact with her body. An amount that small can be filtered automatically by her body.
“So, that’s how it is.” Sitting backwards on the chair with both hands supporting herself on the backrest, Eiru swayed her head with a ‘not a big deal’ expression.
“So, you forcibly fall asleep under certain circumstances, and it causes some damage to your body, but you recover quickly?”

She was rocking the chair back and forth, not acting like a girl at all. Although she seemed fine, Yuki hadn’t forgotten the scene in the bathroom earlier and was still somewhat skeptical.
Explaining the concept of mana was too troublesome, so the little demon lord simply brushed it off by saying it was due to an illness. Though in a certain sense, she wasn’t lying.
“By the way, did it rain this morning?” After rocking the chair for a while, Eiru lay on the backrest and suddenly changed the topic.
“Yes, it rained quite heavily this morning. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just that some parts of my body hurt, so I guessed it might have rained…” Her Majesty the Demon Lord immediately looked listless—she didn’t like the rain.
The aching in her joints made her uncomfortable, and her wings hurt even worse. She couldn’t fly, and she couldn’t sunbathe. In every sense, the little demon lord didn’t like rainy days.
“What a coincidence, Eiru is the same way. Seems like he was injured before and left with a bunch of problems…” Yuki held his forehead, not knowing how to complain about his buddy.

“I’ve advised him several times, but that guy, for some reason, stubbornly refuses to see a doctor. There’s nothing I can do…”
Remembering their previous conversation, Yuki felt speechless…
“What’s wrong with you? Go see a doctor.” On a certain rainy day, the two were eating in a restaurant when Yuki heard Eiru complaining about pain again.
“I’m old, old… useless now. My back hurts, my waist aches—I don’t want to do anything except go home and lie in bed slacking off.” Lying on the table like a dead fish, Eiru didn’t want to move at all.
“Calling yourself old at fifteen… why don’t you still go see a doctor?”
“I won’t go, it’s not a big problem. Besides, I’m already an elderly person—don’t torture these old bones anymore…”
“I told you, you’re only fifteen… forget it, do whatever you want. Hurry up and order, the meal’s on me…” Handing the menu to her, Yuki said irritably. After hearing his words, Eiru perked up and quickly grabbed the menu to order…
“So what’s wrong with you? Want me to take a look?” Back to the present, Yuki asked with concern as he looked at the girl who looked like a dead fish.

“I’m old, old… useless now, back pain, waist ache…” Lying on the table, Her Majesty the Demon Lord answered him casually, not taking his words to heart at all.
“How old are you to start saying you’re old…” Yuki laughed, and while laughing, suddenly noticed something off.
Why did those words sound so familiar? Had he heard them somewhere before? Looking at the girl again, Yuki began reconsidering the girl’s identity.
“Mind your own business…” Not noticing his gaze, the little demon lord pouted in dissatisfaction. Right now, she just wanted to take a bath and lie in bed—she didn’t want to do anything else.
“Here, I made some chicken soup for you…” Setting a bowl of soup for the girl in front of him, Yuki pondered the relationship between her and his best friend.
Lying on the table, Her Majesty the Demon Lord moved her head to the front of the bowl, looking extremely lazy. Too lazy to even move her hands, like a small animal, she stuck out her tongue to lick the soup inside.
“Hot hot hot!!!” Like a cat with its fur standing on end, the little demon lord, who was sensitive to hot food, was burned and immediately sat up.

“Be careful…” Seeing the girl’s cute and silly appearance, Yuki couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
But she really was too similar to Eiru—their hobbies, habits, personality, and reactions to specific situations were exactly the same…
If not for the huge difference in appearance, and being possibly a different species, and them being alive and kicking, Yuki felt that he might really think the girl in front of him was a genderbent version of his buddy.
TN: Yeah… only if
While helping the girl cool the soup down, Yuki looked at the girl’s puffed-up appearance and finally shook his head, pushing the strange thoughts out of his mind.
No matter what, TS was too unbelievable. Reality wasn’t like a novel—better not think about such weird things…
