Demon King – Chapter 672 – Splitting Up
Demon King – Chapter 672 – Splitting Up
“So basically, we’re going to find that little thing, right?”
Somewhere on Seventh High’s campus, two boys were running at full speed while talking.
“You dragged me out again. Why does the Lu Brat always have so much shit going on. You’re her boyfriend, can’t you keep a proper eye on her?”
Even though he was complaining with his mouth, since it was his childhood friend’s problem, Jiaqi was never going to just sit back and ignore it. He just had not expected Yuki to be this rude, directly helping him take leave and then grabbing him as forced labor.
With his own dad here, plus the fact that he clearly knew a lot of inside information they did not, Yuki easily got himself half a day off. He immediately dragged Jiaqi along and set off on the search for that little thing.
“A while back, the level of connection between Hulu and Little Lu was already strengthened to the point where they could share magic power without direct contact.”
After leaving the school gate, Yuki pulled out his phone to call a car and explained things to Jiaqi while waiting.
“So what you’re saying is, something happened to that little thing, and now it’s constantly draining mana from the Lu Brat.”
“Yeah. For now, that’s the most likely possibility. And also, Hulu is really a little shit, you know that.”
As he spoke, there was a trace of speechless frustration in Yuki’s tone. That little thing was even harder to deal with than his own girlfriend.
They said they were looking for Hulu, but in reality neither of them had much of a lead. The only thing they could think of was going to Eiru’s rented apartment first. Maybe the little thing was up to something in there. If they did not need to search further, that would be best.
“Tsk, why do you still have the key to her place.”
Watching Yuki smoothly take out a key and open the door, Jiaqi really wanted to complain about something, but did not know what exactly to complain about.
“She never took it back. Is it weird that I have the key?”

Yuki said this, but the moment the door opened, before either of them could react, a small creature slipped straight out from beside their feet.
“Fuck. I forgot Little Lu left the cat here. Go grab it back.”
Yuki was just about to chase after it, but when he saw the big cat inside already darting out ahead of him, he stopped.
“Aren’t you going to catch it?”
“Gulu will catch it. No need to worry.”
Leaving the cat catching to another cat, the two of them entered the apartment. As expected, they did not find the little thing. While this was an anticipated result, it still left them in a tough spot.
Because it could fly, Hulu’s range of activity was absurdly large. The one person who could locate it through their connection was currently powered down and hibernating. What were two ordinary teenage boys supposed to use to find it.
“How about asking… Little Ya?”
“What use would she be? It’d be good enough if she didn’t cause more trouble.”
“But she was a Daughter of Amber Crystal before. Maybe she can help a bit.”
Jiaqi made a call, but what came from the other end was only the furious roar of a certain loli.
“What are you doing? Calling me during class. My phone almost got confiscated.”
Eiya was about to explode. Every time Jiaqi could come up with some new stunt.

‘Are our birth charts clashing or something? Why does anything involving you always turn into trouble?’
“Don’t be mad, don’t be mad, my fault. I just wanted to ask you something.”
While coaxing her, Jiaqi briefly explained what had happened today to his childhood sweetheart.
“I don’t know. You’re overestimating me. I really don’t have any solution for this.”
Hearing that her sister was in trouble, Eiya did not have the energy to stay angry anymore, but there really was nothing she could do about this.
“But I do know a way to quickly replenish my sister’s magic power. And… there won’t… be any danger.”
As she spoke, Eiya’s tone grew more and more conflicted, like she was about to announce something outrageous.
“What way.”
“Give the phone to… to Brother Yuki. You can’t listen to this anyway.”
On the other end, Eiya covered her face. Forget telling Jiaqi, she did not even know how to explain this to Yuki herself.
“What kind of bullshit is this, something I can’t hear.”
Jiaqi muttered quietly as he handed the phone to Yuki. His childhood sweetheart having little secrets with someone else honestly made him pretty unhappy.
Yuki took the phone with a puzzled expression. As Eiya explained the method, the look on his face shifted from confusion, to surprise, and then to an expression of “that’s it?”.
“What do you mean that’s it. You’ve been lusting after my sister’s body for ages.”

“But I… didn’t say anything.”
The roaring from the other end left Yuki completely at a loss. Could little Eiya read minds? Through the phone, no less.
“Don’t worry about the details. Anyway, if you can’t find Hulu, help my sister recover her magic power and wake her up first. If you leave her to charge on her own, it’ll damage her body.”
“Remember. Don’t cross the line, got it? You can only use the method I told you. Don’t take advantage of her.”
As she instructed him, Eiya was also warning him. Even though she knew Yuki was not that kind of person.
In the end, Yuki and Jiaqi discussed it and decided to split up. Yuki would follow what Eiya said and go handle Eiru’s magic power issue first, while Jiaqi would continue searching nearby for Hulu.
When Yuki returned to school and stepped into the infirmary, the scene in front of him left him completely dumbfounded.
Several adults were tinkering with a diesel generator they had no idea where they dragged over from, fiddling with it while discussing how to connect it to Eiru.
Don’t actually treat her like something you can charge. Something will go wrong. Her conversion efficiency has an upper limit right now. She’ll overload and explode.
Of course, the adults were not that stupid. Otherwise they would not have been discussing it for so long. Electricity was not something to mess around with. One slip up and it would be a huge problem.
“There’s a way. There’s a way. Don’t use that. She can’t handle it.”
Yuki hurriedly stopped them from messing with the generator. Just as he was about to explain the method, the words got stuck in his throat.
The reason was simple. A certain loli’s dad was still here. Even though he did not like his girlfriend’s irresponsible father, Yuki was worried whether the man would go berserk after hearing the method.

“Dad, this method is kind of special, so… can you…”
Officer Li immediately understood Yuki’s meaning and sent the others out of the infirmary. But just in case, and also to reassure those who were sent out, he himself stayed behind, planning to see what exactly his son was going to do.
Walking to the bedside and looking at his girlfriend’s adorable sleeping face, Yuki swallowed and propped himself up by the bed, half squatting down. Then he stopped again and turned his head back.
“Dad, it’s a bit awkward with you here.”
“So what exactly are you going to do. And what is this method you mentioned.”
Officer Li frowned. He had a feeling he was about to hear something unbelievable.
“It’s just… I need to kiss her. And it might be… kind of intense.”
“???”
