Demon King – Chapter 676 – Stirring Up Trouble, So He Got His Account Banned

After quite a bit of effort, with several people working together, the little guy lying in the drainage ditch was finally fished out.

Since the distance was close, they brought Hulu along with the two cats back to Eiru’s rented apartment, planning to do some basic treatment first before deciding what to do next.

“Is it really still alive? It feels like there’s not even a breath left…”

Looking at the little thing lying limp and motionless on the table, both Yuki and Jiaqi felt pretty awful inside.

Even though it was mischievous and often caused trouble for everyone, they had still spent quite a bit of time together with Hulu. Time brewed feelings, and without realizing it, the little guy had already taken up a considerable place in everyone’s hearts.

“It’s alive. As long as I’m alive, there’s no way it’s dying, so relax.”

The little Demon Lord answered while using magic to treat the little guy’s injuries on the table. Strictly speaking, she did not have healing abilities… but Hulu was a magical creature, and on it, there was basically nothing magic could not handle.

“So then what exactly is this ‘Demon Lord companion beast’ you mentioned… And why do you look so unconcerned? It’s seriously injured.”

To be honest, Jiaqi really could not figure out what kind of existence Hulu actually was. With such a grand title like Demon Lord companion beast, plus the earlier stuff about the divine stone, there was no way it was just some cute mascot, right?

“Well, every Demon Lord actually has a companion beast of their own. A companion beast is basically a part of the Demon Lord herself.”

Jiaqi was still completely lost, wondering why his childhood friend did not seem to care at all about the little thing’s injuries… but beside him, Yuki felt a creeping sense of dread after hearing those words.

Hulu was a part of Lu Baby, which also meant Hulu was Lu Baby herself. And Lu Baby had always been careless about herself.

The more he thought about it, the more uneasy Yuki became. He realized that his little girlfriend’s attitude toward Hulu was actually the same as her attitude toward herself. She had been injured before and brushed it off without a care. Swapping the subject, was this not exactly the same situation now?

While feeling anxious, Yuki also felt a bit grateful for his own luck. Eiru, who had once been a boy, did not have much of a gap with him when it came to getting along, and there were even extra ways like this to judge her mental state without having to blindly guess.

When it came to dating, the most troublesome part was trying to read the other person’s mind. Extra judgment methods like this felt to Yuki like having a status panel pop up on Eiru, clearly showing all her stats. It was unbelievably convenient.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty the Demon Lord continued treating Hulu like a doctor while explaining her exact relationship with it to the two of them.

“The Demon Lord and the companion beast have a relationship where as long as one of them is alive, the other absolutely will not die. You can think of it like insurance. It’s one of the secrets behind the Demon Lord’s immortality.”

Hulu’s existence was like an extra layer of insurance on Eiru’s life. Unless both of them fell into life threatening danger at the same time, one side would always be able to buy enough time for the other. Of course, situations where someone was instantly obliterated on the spot were beyond saving.

“So that’s why you’ve always been so reckless? Relying on Hulu to cover for you so you don’t care about anything, right?”

The more he listened, the more annoyed Yuki became. He clenched his fists and lightly ground his knuckles into the girl’s temples. Relying on this little trick and completely ignoring your own safety, what is wrong with you, you little loli?

“Ow ow ow…”

“Don’t act! I didn’t even use force!”

“Bleh.”

Making a face, the little Demon Lord stopped what she was doing and leaned back into Yuki’s arms.

“Hey, now’s not the time for you two to act cute and show off your love, right? Your kid… I mean, Hulu’s problem isn’t solved yet.”

Having a mouthful of dog food shoved at him, Jiaqi complained unhappily. But just as his finger pointed toward the tabletop, the little guy who had been completely lifeless moments ago slowly rolled over and struggled to prop itself up.

“Hey, don’t move around. Your entire skeleton is shattered clean. Did you run into some kind of isekai reincarnation device or something?”

Eiru teased with a sharp tongue, but she still reached out to help her companion beast adjust its posture and lie back down. Probably because she knew it was not in any real danger, there was still a look of schadenfreude on her face.

“Keep being naughty, go on. Let’s see you bounce around again. Serves you right for stirring up trouble every day.”

“Lu Baby… Is it just my imagination, or do you seem to have quite a lot of resentment toward Hulu?”

Watching the Demon Lord furiously poke the little thing’s head with her finger, Yuki felt like he could see some deep grudge being vented.

‘According to what she had just said, it was at least half of you, right? Even if it had annoyed you before, it should not be to the point of having beef with yourself… then again, picking a fight with yourself did not really seem that strange for her.’

“You don’t know. This idiot has wish granting abilities. Just like before in the village when it acted as a divine stone, it misunderstands people’s wishes and then goes to fulfill them.”

The reason the little Demon Lord had been so resentful toward Hulu recently was because after some verification, she had confirmed something extremely important.

After recovering a small part of her memories, she learned that the preparations she had once placed on her younger sister were enough to let her live safely and peacefully until adulthood.

According to the original plan, by this point in time, her memories should have already awakened for the most part. Combined with her growing body and abilities, she would have been able to resolve all the remaining issues surrounding Eiya.

But plans never kept up with changes. The Amber Crystal inside Eiya seemed to have been activated by something, once deteriorating to the point of threatening her life. It left Her Majesty the Demon Lord completely overwhelmed. Looking back and confirming things now, the culprit was indeed this little thing by her side.

That said, the little Demon Lord was reasonable. She knew Hulu could not have intentionally wanted to harm her sister. It was simply that some idiot had made a wish to it. Not understanding anything, it misunderstood the wish and messed around blindly, accidentally leading to this outcome.

On top of that, she had discovered the backup measures she once laid out in time, and things had not developed to an irreparable state. So she did not pursue it too far… though resentment naturally still remained.

“No idea who made a wish to it, or what kind of wish it was… but since Hulu went and did it, it should already have been fulfilled. It’s just that this guy always messes up the process.”

Even if she grabbed the little thing by the neck and interrogated it, its tiny, stupid brain would not be able to remember whose wish it had once fulfilled. So the little Demon Lord had no intention of squeezing information out of it.

“So, to prevent things like this from happening again, I took advantage of today’s chance and sealed its abilities completely. Now it can only be a mascot!”

‘You little thing dared to stir up trouble. Today, this macho Demon Lord conveniently got your account banned!’
