Demon King – Chapter 811 – You Really Suck at Writing Scripts

“In the story my grandpa told me, there’s an evil Demon Lord hidden in this world who could endanger it. He also told me that uncovering her plot and destroying it is the mission of us heroes.”

Continuing to tell his overly chuunibyou story to the group, Xixia had once actually mistaken a certain loli for that evil Demon Lord. But after spending time with her, he realized she was just mischievous and had nothing to do with evil at all.

Even so, Xixia still firmly believed this story. As a hero, his existence had to carry some kind of mission. But since Eiru as the Demon Lord clearly didn’t match the description, then only two possibilities remained before him.

The first was that in the near future, Eiru’s personality would drastically change and she would become the evil Demon Lord from the story. The second possibility was that the Demon Lord in the story was actually someone else entirely.

“Since you guys are saying the Little Demon Lord is sleeping and won’t wake up like she’s been cursed, is it possible that if we leave her alone, when she wakes up she’ll become the first possibility and turn into the Demon Lord from the story?”

Xixia read plenty of novels and manga, so he had seen lots of plots where someone suddenly changed personality during some abnormal incident. The current state of that silver-haired loli gave him exactly that kind of déjà vu.

Yuki and the others really wanted to tell this guy to stop being such a chuuni, but thinking about how they themselves were currently like headless flies with no clues at all, they figured they might as well hear whether this “hero” could actually say anything useful.

“And I also think the two possibilities could actually be combined. What if the Demon Lord behind the second possibility messed with the Little Demon Lord because she was afraid she’d interfere with her plot… and then made her wake up into the first situation.”

As if he had read the script and accidentally touched the truth, Xixia’s theory sounded bizarrely on point. Yet when they all looked at each other, none of them really accepted his chuunibyou conclusion.

“Could Lu Brat just be sleeping because of a physical issue like Eiya was back then?”

Hui Jiaqi lowered his head and asked the little childhood sweetheart in his arms for confirmation, only to receive a denial.

“My sister said back then my soul had a problem, and it was also because a fragment of Amber Crystal stayed inside me too long.” Eiya shook her head. “And sis doesn’t have organ failure like I did back then. Aside from not waking up, everything about her is basically normal.”

“So I support Brother Yuki’s guess. Sis was probably hit by some magic or curse… or maybe she messed with something herself and accidentally got hit with a side effect.”

Right. The whole reason they were sitting here listening to Xixia’s chuunibyou rant was because they were certain the problem with Eiru was caused by magic. But if they said there was some mastermind behind it, there hadn’t been the slightest movement or clue all this time. Even if that assumption were true, they had no way to find them.

“Let’s reserve judgment. Might as well figure out how to use this mirror. Even if she said that back then, we don’t have any other options now. I have to see what’s going on in her dream.”

With Yuki’s words, the discussion ended, and everyone’s attention shifted back to the small mirror on the table. But none of them had any experience using magical tools. The only little guy who could offer guidance was also asleep along with Eiru. After all this, wasn’t it still a dead end?

“It can’t be a dead end. Since Lu gave this to you, she must have had a reason. She must’ve arranged something…”

His girlfriend never did meaningless things. After all, she was a professional slacker. If she had time to set something like this up, she’d rather save that time to slack off. Which meant they definitely had a way to use this mirror to break the stalemate.

“Hurry up and figure out how to use it. Since she gave it to you, it’s definitely because you can use it.”

“But I don’t know how!”

The two boys firmly believed this chuunibyou hero must have some method to use the mirror, yet Xixia himself was extremely troubled. He didn’t even understand what the mirror did before, so how could he possibly know how to use it?

“I think we should broaden our thinking…”

Watching the three of them argue, Eiya tapped her little head with her finger, as if she had thought of something.

“Based on what I’ve seen from my sister’s past experiences, when she seriously sets up a plan it’s ridiculously elaborate… judging from her habit of arranging things layer after layer, the fact we’re sitting here discussing this right now was probably already within her expectations.”

Eiya’s words instantly opened up Yuki’s train of thought. Thinking about how that kid even made prank setups with multiple layers sometimes, that meant it wasn’t just Xixia. Someone among them should also have their own role to play.

Inside the dark space, the Little Demon Lord glanced at a certain Chaotic Evil senior beside her who was gesturing at empty air for no clear reason, tilted her head, and muttered softly.

“They’re not dumb. They should’ve picked up some clues by now, right? Though honestly I don’t really want them getting involved in this… by the way, how long has it been now?”

“What are you muttering about, my adorable junior?”

Hearing the voice behind her, Belonia turned around, lifted the other girl’s chin with her finger, and started teasing again, looking at the girl on the throne like she was unbearably cute.

“Nothing. Just bored being locked here… there’s not even any games to play.”

At a time like this, she was still thinking about games. Looking at Eiru’s completely unbothered expression, Belonia felt an inexplicable surge of irritation, and some desire inside her was stirred.

She wanted to see her panic. Wanted to see her afraid and begging. Wanted to see her submit and yield. A chilling smile appeared on her face as Belonia’s mind rapidly turned, thinking of how to tear apart the heart of the cute junior before her.

“Senior, please don’t smile with my face like that. It looks disgusting and really creeps me out…”

“You brat, tired of living, are you? Let me think… the one you care about most is that little boyfriend of yours outside, right? I’ve changed my mind. I won’t kill him. I’ll let you two experience something even more despairing!”

“I’ll bind him, and right in front of him, before his very eyes, I’ll defile this body of yours. Don’t you look down on me? Aren’t you devoted to him? I’ll make you watch yourself betray him helplessly and turn everything you insist on into a joke!”

‘Clearly a Demon Lord with power, you should have been the one who sets the rules. Yet in the end you’re bound by the rules and morals of mere humans? Absolutely laughable…’

“As long as I stand at the top, I am all rules and all reason. Indulging my desires however I wish, controlling everything about others however I wish. Something like that is surely beyond the understanding of someone like you who’s bound by inferior humans, right?”

“Ah yeah yeah sure… Senior, you really suck at writing scripts, huh? What is this third-rate NTR booklet plot? I saw stuff like this years ago. Now you expect me to get worked up over it? I can’t even get stirred up at all, okay?”

Clicking her tongue, after that bizarre speech and critique from Her Majesty the Demon Lord, her completely out-of-touch-with-the-times senior froze on the spot and fell into deep confusion.
