Demon King – Chapter 820 – The First Problem
Demon King – Chapter 820 – The First Problem
When he opened his eyes, Yuki realized he was already standing in an entirely new world.
Before he even had time to examine his surroundings, a suffocating sensation surged over him. It forced him to bend forward, gasping desperately for air.
Something invisible and indescribable filled the air, severely affecting anyone within it. Yuki had no idea that the true nature of that thing was excessively dense magic.
It was obvious that this environment was not one that humans from Yuki’s world could adapt to. The silver-haired boy quickly thought it through and guessed this was likely the other world where the Demon Lord and the Amber Crystal had once existed.
Humans from this world could not adapt to such magic-saturated surroundings. Just as Yuki felt like he was about to die before even leaving the beginner village, something in his pocket suddenly trembled. The suffocating discomfort vanished instantly.
“It actually works? So it wasn’t prepared for nothing…”
Realizing the small charm in his pocket was responsible, Yuki let out a helpless laugh. It was something Xixia had forcibly stuffed into his pocket before he set off.
Time rewound to before Yuki entered Eiru’s dream. After deciding who would go in, Xixia had suddenly started bustling around, preparing things under everyone’s bewildered gazes.
“This wrist guard can resist magic poison gas attacks! This belt lets you move like the wind! And this helmet can make you immune to mental attacks and mind control. Senior, you have to bring all of them!”
She had no idea where she produced such a pile of ‘equipment,’ stuffing them onto Yuki one by one. Whether out of a Hero’s sense of responsibility or protectiveness, Xixia was especially serious about preparing for this dream adventure. She gave off the exact vibe of a worried mother preparing everything for her child’s first night away from home.
“Logically speaking, isn’t this a dream? How am I supposed to bring this stuff in? And what’s with this helmet? Magneto’s same model or something?”

The way Xixia was promoting all sorts of strange items made her look like a street fortune teller in Yuki’s eyes. Shouldn’t dreams automatically strip your equipment? What use was any of this?
“You don’t need to understand magic that clearly. It’s always better to prepare more. These are all magical equipment and items. Who knows, maybe you’ll bring them in.”
As she spoke, Xixia pulled another item out of her bag in front of Yuki’s exasperated face.
A collar.
“As for this, it’s…”
“Don’t tell me this is also a magic item?”
Yuki’s mouth twitched as he looked at the long chain attached to it. Since when did a Hero’s equipment become this… questionable?
“There’s an empty space here. Senior, write your name in this spot.”
Xixia pointed at a blank area on the collar, ignoring the complicated expressions of the others nearby, and continued her explanation seriously.
“Uh… I won’t ask how to use it. What exactly is this for? This magic item looks like something out of an indecent game…”

The Hero girl didn’t look like she was joking. Yuki accepted the collar with a face full of black lines and, as instructed, wrote his name in the blank space.
“Huh? This isn’t a magic item. This is for when you find the little Demon Lord. You put it on her for fun, and then you two can—”
Smack.
Xixia crouched on the floor, clutching her head. Yuki shook his fist, wearing a half-smiling expression that seemed to say, I trusted you so much, and you’re just as indecent.
Back to the present. Although not all the items had made it into the dream, the things Xixia prepared clearly weren’t just decorations. As Yuki sighed in amazement, his condition gradually stabilized.
Before taking action, he figured he should check what he actually had on him. With that thought, he opened the bag on his back.
The first thing he saw nearly broke his composure.
“Why did this collar come with me? Didn’t she say it was an ordinary collar… It can’t be that Lu Brat dreamed it in, right?”
After taking inventory of what he had, Yuki prepared to set off in search of his adorable little girlfriend. But before he could even take a single step, he encountered a very serious problem.
“Where am I supposed to find Lu Brat?”

The surroundings were vast, like a desert or a prairie. Everything was visible at a glance. But the fact that there was no visible boundary perfectly replicated something else. It was clearly his girlfriend’s dream, so why did it feel like some kind of fantasy scenic tourism zone?
“Does Lu Brat usually dream about stuff like this? And I don’t even know where she is…”
Muttering to himself, Yuki wandered aimlessly. The so-called move-like-the-wind belt and mental-attack-proof helmet Xixia gave him hadn’t made it in. Unlucky Yuki could only rely on his own two legs to traverse this enormous and unknown world.
After walking for quite a while, he hadn’t seen a single person. In fact, he hadn’t even seen a living creature. He had even entertained the idea of finding some NPC with an exclamation mark floating above their head. Now it seemed he had been overthinking it.
—— Scene Break ——
Outside the dream, Eiya hugged a pillow on the sofa and sat in Hui Jiaqi’s arms, anxiously watching Yuki sleeping at the table.
“What does my sister’s dream look like? I’m so curious… By the way, is it really okay for only Brother Yuki to go in alone?”
Originally, Eiya had thought Xixia, as the Hero, would also enter the dream. With two people, at least they could look after each other. And with that chuunibyou Hero’s imagination, maybe in a place like a dream, she would actually be quite formidable.
“I’d like to go too, but there’s only one mirror, and I only have one Hero pendant. One ticket only. It can’t let two people in.”
As she spoke, Xixia examined the magic mirror on the table. Even though no images were displayed on it, that didn’t diminish her curiosity about this creation of the Demon Lord.

“Maybe because this is the little Demon Lord’s dream? This thing isn’t functioning normally…”
Xixia analyzed carefully. Normally, the mirror should display scenes from the dream. But right now, it was like a monitor that only showed colors, seemingly using color changes to indicate Yuki’s current mental state.
“Anyway, if something feels wrong, we have to wake Senior up immediately. As long as we force quit before Game Over, it doesn’t count as losing. We can try again.”
Hearing that, Eiya shrank slightly, feeling even more worried about the two inside the dream. Seeing her like this, Hui Jiaqi held her tighter with a pained expression.
“It’ll be fine. Your sister’s sly and clever. Other than with Yuki, when have you ever seen her suffer a loss?”
Though those outside could do nothing except monitor Yuki’s condition, Hui Jiaqi understood that little devil childhood friend of his very well.
That mischievous loli was no obedient type, and certainly not some lamb waiting to be slaughtered. Whoever was stirring up trouble right now, that girl had plenty of tricks up her sleeve. There was no way she’d let herself take a loss.
“Don’t forget, your sister is the Demon Lord. Aside from Yuki, her ‘Hero,’ no one else can handle her.”
