Demon King – Chapter 867 – Disperse, Disperse

“What the hell happened?! What the hell happened?!”

From far away, the Little Demon Lord heard Xixia’s miserable scream. Having just finished dealing with things on Yuki’s side, she rushed back in a flurry.

What came into view was the Hero Girl clutching her stomach with a horrified expression on her face. Off to the side, a certain ghost floated there looking embarrassed. As for who the culprit was, that much was painfully obvious.

“What happened?”

She asked Eiya and Hui Jiaqi who were present, but both of them shook their heads, indicating they had no idea what had just occurred.

So Her Majesty the Demon Lord turned her puzzled gaze toward Xixia, only to be met with a roar filled with shame and fury.

“You ask her yourself! That was way too damn underworld! Is that something a person would even do?!”

“It… wasn’t that scary, was it?” Shang slightly tilted her head upward. “I just wanted to see what you were doing and say hi.”

“Not that scary?!”

If Xixia had been holding anything in her hand right now, she probably would have hurled it straight at her.

“Do you greet people by crawling out of their stomachs?!”

The way some people idly fiddle with their fingers when they’re bored, Xixia had been pinching at her socks to pass the time. Then all of a sudden, she saw a half transparent head pop out from her abdomen.

Her entire body had been completely relaxed. And then that scene erupted right in front of her eyes. The sheer underworld horror of it nearly scared her soul out of her body. Just look at the railing beside her that had already been smashed into a dent. That alone was enough to show how violently she had reacted at the time.

“Waaah, now I have to pay for it… I broke school property.”

Now this Hero Girl possessed inhuman levels of brute strength. When she got emotional and fired up, a single little punch was all it took. A mere stone railing simply could not withstand her devastation.

“Forget it, forget it. It’s a small issue. I’ll fix it.”

The Little Demon Lord sighed and walked over to clean up the mess left behind by this unlucky Hero Girl. A Demon Lord cleaning up the trouble caused by her archenemy the Hero. The sight really was a bit subtle.

“So Lu brat picked out this outfit for you? What were you two even busy with?”

Hui Jiaqi looked Yuki up and down for a while, but couldn’t figure out anything special about it.

A denim jacket. Denim jeans. A white T-shirt underneath. Yuki’s outfit wasn’t sloppy, but it was so ordinary it had no distinctive features at all. Without that head of silver hair, you probably wouldn’t even be able to pick him out from a crowd. Wasn’t this just everyday casual wear?

“It’s not like he’s attending some major formal event. Dressing naturally is better, right?”

Eiru turned her head and replied while reversing time with her authority to repair the railing that the Hero Girl had smashed apart.

After all, this wasn’t some business engagement. In the future, everyone would be meeting often as one family. Showing up in a full suit or tailcoat would look pretentious in Eiru’s eyes. It might even have a reverse effect on first impressions.

So in Her Majesty the Demon Lord’s view, for an occasion like this, as long as you weren’t sloppy, leaning toward everyday natural wear was the best choice. There was nothing worth overthinking.

“But why did you change your outfit again, Lu Brat?”

Looking at his childhood friend now dressed once more in that coat with transparent sleeves, one black over the knee sock and one blue black striped sock in a punk style… Hui Jiaqi did not think her current outfit could be called everyday wear.

“Because it’s hot now. This set is cooler to wear.”

An unexpectedly realistic reason. Looking again at the tiny tank top underneath that was practically on the level of sports underwear, along with the short skirt, it did indeed look extremely cool and breezy. Except maybe for the boots, which looked a bit thick.

“All fixed. So what’s the plan now?”

Having finished what she was doing, the Little Demon Lord turned around and asked the group about their next move.

“I’m taking my wife home to meet my old man. What about you guys? Are we calling it a day?”

“So why did we even run to the abandoned school in the first place?”

Eiya muttered softly, seriously suspecting that her sister had forgotten the original purpose of their operation.

“Oh that. I didn’t forget. It’s just not that necessary anymore. Look at this…”

The Little Demon Lord took out her phone and beckoned Xixia over. In front of the two girls, she opened the chat app and pulled up a segment of group chat history.

In the chat was a video clip. It showed two middle aged women dragging along two kids while fighting each other. Judging by the recording time, it seemed to have happened right when the three of them were being chased around by ghosts.

“According to the group members, one brat had something snatched by another brat, and they started fighting immediately. Then the two bratty parents blindly defended their own kids and started fighting too.”

“I just feel like my dad’s going to get busy again… although that area doesn’t seem to be under his jurisdiction.”

Watching the ridiculous scene in the video of the two middle aged women rolling around fighting in the middle of the road, Yuki could only hope this mess wouldn’t further increase his father’s workload.

Still, scenes of bratty parents tearing into each other were quite satisfying to watch.

Especially seeing both bratty kids with their heads scraped open, sitting on the ground wailing helplessly. At least the Hero Girl was already blooming with joy inside.

Xixia had vented her anger. Eiru no longer had any intention of stirring up more trouble. There was nothing else to do, so the group of friends prepared to head their separate ways.

But before that, there was one very important matter that needed to be settled.

“Wait. What about her? Isn’t she going back?”

Eiya pointed at Shang who was floating in midair. If they just left her alone, Huanghai might gain another urban legend by tomorrow.

“Uh? Although leaving her to me would be best, today I…”

The Little Demon Lord glanced at Yuki beside her and felt a bit troubled. That melon head had no intention of going home either, but today really wasn’t convenient for her to bring someone else back to her house.

“I’ll do it!” Xixia suddenly stepped forward, thumping her chest. “As a Hero, of course I have to help my friends solve their problems!”

“No problem?”

Although the Hero Girl was indeed the most suitable candidate aside from Eiru, thinking about how afraid of ghosts she was, everyone seriously doubted whether one night later this problem girl would end up scared stupid.

“I’m a Hero, okay?! Don’t look down on me! Did you see that railing just now? Even if she uses her heavyweight form, I can lift her up and throw her out!”

Thinking about it, that did make sense. After some discussion, everyone decided to entrust this task to Xixia. And after asking Shang for her opinion, the ghost girl unexpectedly was very willing to stay with the Hero Girl for a while.

Then Xixia bid farewell to the four friends and left with Shang. Along the way, the little one kept making noise beside her like a curious baby, asking this and that nonstop.

“I don’t know why, but I feel like you’re very special! You’re clearly not a Daughter of Amber Crystal and not a Demon Lord either, but there’s something incredible about you.”

“You said you could lift me up. Is that true? Want to try it now? I want to try that thing they always talk about, the princess carry!”

“Say something, say something. Why are you ignoring me? I clearly think you’re really interesting!”

“You’re so annoying! Can you be quiet for a bit?!” The Hero Girl finally exploded. “How am I supposed to talk to you on the road?! At least wait until I get home!”

And to the eyes of passersby, it looked like Xixia had suddenly started shouting at thin air for no reason at all.

“Are kids these days really under that much academic pressure?”
