Demon King – Chapter 880 – Victory Is Decided in an Instant

After leaving through the doorway, Xixia had not run very far when she saw it in the corridor.

A massive gash in the air, like something badly Photoshopped into reality, hung there out of nowhere.

Through the opening, she could even see the outside scene. A silver-haired boy was pacing back and forth, his face filled with worry.

“So the little Demon Lord dragged you here too, Senior?”

Without hesitation, the Hero Girl jumped out through the gap. She had just finished greeting him when she turned her head and was so startled by what stood beside her that she almost screamed.

A creature the size of a tiger had its head lowered right in front of her face, blinking as it examined her. She jumped backward in fright, nearly tripping over loose bricks on the ground.

“You’re out? Then Lu Brat…”

“Hulu? What are you doing?!”

Seeing Xixia appear, Yuki had just been about to ask about his girlfriend’s situation when he noticed the giant creature stop what it was doing and pad over to his side with light feline steps.

The moment Hulu stopped moving, the rift in space lost the power sustaining it. It visibly began to mend itself at a speed the naked eye could follow, sealing shut and disappearing completely.

“Hulu! What are you doing?! How is Lu Brat supposed to come out now?!”

“Hulu?”

Hearing that familiar name, Xixia looked again at the tiger-sized creature beside her. After Yuki said it, she began to find the creature oddly familiar.

Aside from being enlarged by one size… no, by N sizes. Everything else looked exactly the same as the little companion beast at the Demon Lord’s house.

‘So that mischievous little cutie actually grew up to look this majestic? It was just a size change, so why did the aura feel completely different?!’

“You’re saying Lu Brat told you to do this? That the moment Xixia came out, you were to immediately close the rift?”

Since it was Eiru’s plan, Yuki could not really say anything. He could only hold his forehead, feeling both a headache and helpless.

The two of them had been sleeping perfectly fine when she was suddenly tortured awake by whatever that thing was. After tossing and turning in bed for a while, she abruptly jumped up and shouted, “Dummy’s in danger!” Then she put on her shoes and climbed straight out the window.

Of course, Her Majesty the Demon Lord knew Yuki would not be able to rest easy. So she called out to Hulu in her mind. The little creature scampered back from Eiya’s room. After temporarily enlarging itself using its stored magic power, it carried Yuki and chased after her.

“Um… Senior? Didn’t they say only the little Demon Lord can understand what it says? You can communicate with it now too?”

“Huh? Yeah. I can understand some of it.”

He did not know when it started. Maybe after spending so long around Eiru and being influenced by her magic power. In any case, Yuki gradually realized he could vaguely understand some of Hulu’s thoughts.

Rather than understanding words, it felt more like telepathy. By combining the little creature’s babbling tone with that intuitive feeling, he could more or less communicate with it.

“Forget that for now. What’s going on inside? What danger was Lu Brat talking about?”

He had no mind to discuss anything else. What he cared about most was still his girlfriend’s situation.

“Huh? The danger was Heavyweight, I guess? Anyway, the little Demon Lord and Heavyweight started fighting in there. It was pretty intense… I didn’t even have the ability to interfere at all.”

Gesturing animatedly with her hands, the Hero Girl vividly reconstructed the scene of that god-tier battle for him.

Hearing the description of the two celestial beings fighting to the death… ahem, wrong script.

In any case, listening to Xixia’s account only made Yuki’s frown deepen.

“You don’t need to worry too much, Senior. Heavyweight is ridiculously strong, but it’s not a problem for the little Demon Lord to take her down.”

Although a certain loli had claimed it was her first time fighting something on that level and that she lacked experience, and although she had been on the defensive the entire time, judging by her carefree, giggling attitude, she had clearly been playing around. She had not gotten serious at all.

Then again, saying she was not serious might not be entirely accurate. Despite her playful demeanor, the little Demon Lord had still directed Xixia to observe the surroundings. It seemed she had been preparing some sort of backup plan.

And Xixia could tell that Eiru had been holding back because of her. She had deliberately controlled her strength to avoid harming her. Realizing she was only a burden by staying, the moment Eiru told her where the exit was, she had not hesitated to run.

“So really, Senior, you don’t need to wor—What the hell is that now?!”

Before she could finish, the two of them and the beast felt the surrounding air begin to vibrate. If one looked carefully, it even seemed as if the air itself was twisting. It was enough to show how fierce the battle inside must be.

But the abnormality only lasted a brief moment, so short that Xixia did not even have time to crouch down and hold her head before the air went still again.

Before she could process it, the space between her and Yuki was suddenly torn open by force.

Within a table-sized rift, a silver-haired loli stepped out while yawning.

“Lu Nrat!”

Yuki’s eyes lit up as he rushed forward. His hands moved over her body, checking anxiously.

“You’re not hurt, right? Let me see. You’re fine? Xixia said it was a tough fight. And why did you two suddenly start fighting?”

“Tough fight?”

The little Demon Lord tilted her head, then lowered her gaze to the ghost toddler she was holding by the back of the neck, already unconscious. She did not quite understand what “tough fight” he was referring to.

“Even though it was my first time fighting something considered beyond human standards? Honestly speaking, Heavyweight… she’s kind of weak.”

All that earlier commotion had mostly been because she was mindful of Xixia. Sure, she had enjoyed it a little, but more importantly, she had been testing Shang’s endurance to avoid seriously injuring her.

So once Xixia left and Her Majesty the Demon Lord got just slightly serious, the twenty-ton toddler went down like that.

Shang’s manic expression had not even had time to shift into confusion before she spectacularly blacked out and collapsed.

“And her compatibility against me is just too bad… Her ability to freely switch between spirit and physical form doesn’t mean much against me. I can touch her either way.”

Weighing the little one in her hand and confirming she would not be waking up anytime soon, the Demon Lord shifted her gaze to the Hero Girl, suddenly remembering something.

“Oh right, dummy. What you just said… that was about something she did at your house, right?”

As she spoke, the little Demon Lord grabbed Shang under the arms and lifted her up, turning her back toward Xixia. A mischievous smile spread across her face.

“Anyway, she did just attack you… Disobedient children need to be disciplined~ How about you spank her first?”

“No thanks. I’m not into that kind of weird hobby.”

Xixia waved her hand to reject the proposal.

“And besides… I don’t think she can really be called a child, can she?”
