Demon King – Chapter 916 – Such an Easy Read
Yunxing, unlike his strikingly good looking sister, was an ordinary fifteen year old boy who would not stand out much in a crowd.
He could not be called handsome, but he certainly was not ugly either. His build was neither thin nor muscular, and at one point six five meters tall, there was nothing particularly remarkable about him among his peers.
If there was anything slightly distinctive about him, something that kept him from having a completely forgettable face, it would probably be his somewhat fierce features. Because of his naturally sharp eyes and intimidating expression, he had never run into any serious trouble growing up. But at the same time, he had basically never made any close friends either.
Although Yunyue did not have great grades, she had always been a sensible and responsible girl. When a younger brother was added to the family, she naturally doted on him and took care of him in every possible way.
Having grown up under Yunyue’s care, and with no real friends at school, Yunxing naturally liked and depended on this sister of his very much. Though they did not share the same mother, judging from their names, Yue and Xing, it was obvious their relationship could not possibly be bad.
But after Yunxing entered middle school, things began to change. Whether it was because of a rebellious phase, or because a boy constantly hanging around girls and sticking to his sister felt embarrassing, his attitude toward Yunyue grew worse and worse. The siblings’ relationship gradually cooled, eventually reaching an awkward freezing point.
At the same time, Yunyue discovered that her younger brother had begun hanging around with unsavory people outside. As his older sister, afraid that he might fall in with the wrong crowd, of course she had to lecture him properly.
But as everyone knows, during a rebellious phase, the more you nag, the more the child pushes back against you. On top of that, Yunyue herself did poorly in school and was in the Problem Class. Whenever she tried to lecture him, her younger brother would mock her in return.
Their family also had a rather indulgent and hands off attitude toward him. So Yunyue, as a girl, often had to risk going deep into places where delinquents gathered just to call her brother home for dinner and the like.
Now that he was already in high school, Yunyue felt it was time for her brother to change. Being in the same school should have made things more convenient, but whenever he saw her, he impatiently tried to run away. So she had no choice but to ask a certain crafty loli Demon Lord for help.

“I told you to stop interfering. I’ve got things to do after school. Can you stop clinging to me every day? Don’t you have anything better to do?”
On the first year floor, a boy’s shout drew the attention of many nearby students. After throwing out those words with a dark expression, he stormed off, leaving the girl standing there alone with a dim, dejected face.
“Mm, that rebellious phase is pretty serious. It’s even worse than when Little Ya used to treat me…” After the boy left, a silver-haired loli slipped out from hiding and gently patted the wronged and upset girl beside her.
The younger brother she had practically raised with her own hands now treated her like this. On top of that, she was often excluded by classmates, and who knew what kind of pressure she was bearing at home… Thinking about it, the little Demon Lord could not help but feel a bit of sympathy and tenderness toward Yunyue.
‘I remember she even got rejected in love because of me… Tsk, no good. I need to think of a way to cheer her up. That’s what friends are supposed to do, right?’
“It’s fine, I’m okay. I’m used to it. Stop racking that little brain of yours trying to figure out how to comfort me.”
Seeing straight through what the girl beside her was thinking, Yunyue patted her own cheeks, pulled herself together a bit, then reached out and tugged on Eiru’s cheeks.
“Compared to me, you’re the one who needs others to worry about and take care of you, right? I only asked Lulu to help me see what to do about my brother. I can handle my own matters. Don’t worry.”
To Yunyue, the current Eiru was like a little sister. As the older sister, she should be the one taking care of her. How could there be a situation where the older sister needed the younger one to take care of her?

Whether it was Yunxing, Eiru, or even Yunyue herself, none of them knew why she just especially liked taking care of these troublesome younger siblings. Perhaps caring for others was her way of forgetting or easing the pressure in her own life.
“Leave it to me. I’ll give him a proper re-education and make sure he turns into a good boy who listens to his sister.”
“No, no, that’s not necessary. As long as he stops, or at least reduces contact with those shady friends outside, that’s enough. As for my relationship with him, I’ll work on that myself. And you, even though you have plenty of sneaky ideas, don’t drag yourself into trouble.”
‘What kind of words are those? I’m a Demon Lord. How could I possibly drag myself into trouble so easily?’
She muttered in her heart, but upon hearing Yunyue’s words, Her Majesty the Demon Lord suddenly realized the hidden implication within them.
“Wait. You told Stupid Yuki about asking me for help?”
“Of course I told him, you silly Lu Brat.”
Before Eiru could finish speaking, her little head was struck by a small knock from behind. Covering her head and turning around, she saw Yuki standing there with a half annoyed, half amused expression.
“Since educating my brother will most likely involve you being alone with him. After all, you’re already taken. Of course I had to report it to your dear little boyfriend, right?”
Yunyue explained with a smile. She did not want any strange misunderstandings about encouraging someone else’s girlfriend to be alone with another boy. And seeing the what, alone together expression in Eiru’s eyes, she knew telling Yuki had been the right decision.

Another reason she had asked Eiru for help was precisely because Yuki would not stay out of it. With a boy cooperating, things would probably go much more smoothly.
Throwing Yunyue a look that said thanks, Yuki turned the loli in front of him around and stared at her seriously, asking a soul shaking question.
“My cute Lu Brat, if Yunyue hadn’t told me, were you planning not to mention this to me at all?”
“Wha… what do you mean? I don’t like hiding things from you…”
The little Demon Lord turned her head away, not quite daring to meet his eyes.
“Anyway, if you asked, I definitely would’ve told you.”
“And if I hadn’t asked?” Yuki snorted with laughter and flicked her forehead lightly.
““Then since I didn’t want to bother you, there’d be no need to say anything. It’s not like it’s a big deal.””
Their voices overlapped perfectly, word for word. Her Majesty the Demon Lord immediately revealed a horrified expression.

‘What? That mere Stupid Yuki actually read me?’
“Don’t look at me like that. When have you ever been any different?”
Yuki let out a small sigh. This was routine by now. After enough times, predicting this kind of thing was easy.
“But this time, let’s handle Yunyue’s matter together, okay? I owe her quite a few favors too, right? Lu Brat, you wouldn’t deny me the chance to repay them, would you?”
‘All the favors you owe her are because of me…’
She muttered inwardly, but Eiru had no intention or reason to object.
“Then I’ll leave it to you two?” Watching the silver-haired couple casually sprinkling dog food in front of her, Yunyue clasped her hands together and made a solemn request.
“As long as he hangs out less, preferably not at all, with those shady friends outside… I just hope he can be a proper, ordinary high school student.”
