Demon King – Chapter 925 – Dispute
From Yunxing, Her Majesty the Demon Lord had obtained some of the answers she wanted. However, there was still one question that had yet to receive a sufficient explanation.
“Though he’s just an overly young brat, he clearly has his own judgment and sense of right and wrong.”
Lying lazily on Yuki’s back and muttering to herself, Eiru had not sensed any feeling of self-abandonment from Yunxing either. From his habitual phrases, it was obvious that he knew exactly what he was doing.
‘Could the problem still lie with Yunyue?’
With that doubt in mind, not long ago Eiru had sought out Qianmeng and Qianchen, hoping to learn something about the siblings’ family or their past from Yunyue’s two best friends.
But the Su twins said that by the time they met Yunyue, Yunxing had already started hanging around with those shady fox friends of his. As for family matters, Yunyue rarely brought them up, so the two sisters had never really inquired about that side of things.
At first glance, the investigation seemed to have hit another bottleneck. But Eiru had her own guesses. All she needed was a bit of verification. Perhaps she could dig out whatever hidden story lay behind the siblings.
Right now, though, the most important thing to focus on was the boy and girl downstairs who were clearly in the middle of an argument.
Still lying on Yuki’s back and calmly watching the show, the moment she saw the two of them appear together, the little Demon Lord had already confirmed half of her answer in her heart.
After a round of arguing in which the boy had barely spoken, he suddenly seemed to have had some landmine stepped on. Without caring whether the other party was a girl, he exploded and grabbed her by the collar.
“Fuck. Gao Xuenan, I knew it was you, you piece of shit. What the hell did she ever do to you?”
He had gathered information in his own way and personally tracked her down to confirm it. Listening to her arrogant and domineering remarks, if not for the fact that she was a girl, the agitated teenager might have already thrown a punch.

“What, I have to tell you how she offended me? Like sister, like brother. You don’t actually think your sister is some saint, do you? Let go right now or I’ll call someone!”
Her words were arrogant, but being grabbed by the collar by a publicly acknowledged delinquent like Yunxing still made Gao Xuenan nervous. If this went wrong, she was really going to get beaten.
“Call someone? You think the group of guys you’ve been stringing along actually have the guts to fight me?”
Yunxing sneered. They had crossed paths before. He knew exactly what kind of person she was.
“I already said it. If you’ve got something, come at me. What’s the point of targeting her? Or do you think messing with her counts as stabbing me in the back? You think way too highly of me.”
“Heh. Isn’t this because a certain little brother panicked the moment he heard something about his sister?”
The two of them clashed sharply. Two people who normally seemed to have no intersection added a thick scent of gunpowder to this remote corner of campus.
“You’re fake as hell. What are you pretending for? You actually think you’re some good little brother who cares about his sister?”
“Heh. The last person I want to hear the word ‘fake’ from is someone who pretended to be a childhood sweetheart to string a guy along. You’ve hung onto so many suckers. Surprised you haven’t been beaten to death yet.”
“You? He just believed that on his own. When did I ever pretend to be his childhood sweetheart? Though that idiot seems pretty into your sister now. Pfft, hahaha. So in the end, Yunyue can only pick up my leftovers? Just a substitute for me. So pitiful, hahaha.”
At those words, Yunxing’s face darkened. He raised his right hand high, clenching his fist, ready to give the arrogant woman in front of him a harsh lesson.

But just as his fist lifted, an ill-timed voice interrupted him.
“Xing? What are you doing?”
Annoyed, he clicked his tongue. The moment he heard that familiar voice, Yunxing knew a certain troublesome person had arrived. Unwilling to waste any more time here, he released Gao Xuenan and turned to leave.
“Hahaha, your little brother was just trying to stand up for—”
Xuenan was still mocking the siblings, but with a loud smack, the world fell silent.
Holding her burning cheek, Gao Xuenan stared in disbelief at Yunyue, who had just stepped forward in two quick strides. This usual punching bag actually dared to slap her?
“You can target me all you want, but you’re bullying him too? You really think I don’t have a temper?”
‘Wait, I was the one getting grabbed by the collar and threatened with a fist. Why do you think I’m bullying your tall, well-built brother? Is your brain even working?’
“Hah? You two siblings are really something. You can’t even get your story straight—”
The angrier she became, the more she wanted to lash out. But Yunxing turned his head and snapped a furious “Shut up,” forcing her to swallow her words.
He glanced at his sister, who was seething with anger. Wearing an expression of irritation, Yunxing said nothing, as if he didn’t want to see her for even another second. Without a word, he simply left.

‘Does he hate me that much as his sister?’
Watching her brother walk away without looking back, Yunyue felt a small sting of disappointment. But by now, she was more or less used to it.
Still savoring the family drama, Gao Xuenan hadn’t even fully reacted when Yunyue suddenly turned back and slapped her hard again.
“You? You bitch, are you crazy?!”
“That one was for Jixian,” Yunyue said coldly. She had long wanted to vent her resentment together with his and return this slap on his behalf.
“This slap has been a long time coming. I didn’t want to make things so ugly since we used to be roommates.”
“Hah? You brother-obsessed bitch. You get kept in Jixian’s house by that pretty boy and now you think you’re hot shit?”
“What? Kept? That’s an empty room. I’m just helping him look after the place!”
Though she didn’t know how the other party had found out she was living at Jixian’s place, Yunyue clearly panicked.
Her own reputation was secondary. She didn’t have a good one at Seventh High anyway. But kind-hearted as she was, she didn’t want Jixian to get dragged into rumors because of her.
“Oh ho ho. Looking after the place? Can’t he hire a maid? Or are you the maid he hired? I doubt just cleaning pays the rent. Or maybe there’s also this…”

As she spoke, Gao Xuenan reached out and traced a small circle over Yunyue’s collarbone. Combined with the mocking smile on her face, the insinuation couldn’t have been more obvious.
“You?!”
“Hey, don’t get worked up. If you dare hit me, I’ll spread the word that Jixian is keeping you at his place. Even if you don’t care about yourself, you should think about that idiot, right?”
Yunyue gritted her teeth, but the hand she had raised slowly lowered again. She couldn’t gamble on whether the other party would dare or not. She owed Jixian too much. If she dragged him down because of this…
“That’s more like it. I know what kind of person you are. You don’t want to harm others because of yourself. So you’d better behave, okay?”
Grabbing hold of another one of Yunyue’s weaknesses, Gao Xuenan completely forgot about getting slapped today. Watching Yunyue’s dejected back as she walked away, her heart practically bloomed with joy.
But just as the triumphant Gao Xuenan was about to leave, a pair of hands suddenly reached out from the shadows and clamped around her neck.
When she looked toward her attacker, what she saw was a pair of eyes that looked ready to spit fire.
“Pushing your luck, huh? I let you off once and you still dare to threaten her?”
This time, Gao Xuenan had completely stepped on Yunxing’s landmine.
