3. Interrogation

"So what you're saying is that you're an adventurer who trained in the mountains for a hundred years and that's how you got so strong. And when you were taking a walk, you saw a pink-haired girl destroying a city and went there to check if everything is all right. There you found out the baby dragon wasn't dead but injured and took it with you. And when you saw how we were trying to stop Milim, you felt pity and used a special technique to absorb the megicules and stop her. Is that your story?"

Guy Crimson, who was sitting infront of Rimuru, just repeated the story told to him by Rimuru. They've artived in the Palace of the White Ice half an hour ago, where currently Rimuru's interrogation was held.

"Yeah, that's how it was, I was pretty luck you know. For a minute I thought I would die, hehehe."

"Lucky you say hmm. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! DO YOU REALLY THINK ANYBODY HERE WOULD BELIEVE THAT CRAP STORY YOU JUST TOLD US?!"

Ramiris and Velzard, who were also listening to the whole conversation, nodded their heads in agreement to Guy's statement.

"You said your name was Rimuru Tempest right?" asked Ramiris.

"Yes ma'am"

'Ma'am? Why did I call her ma'am just now? Although she isn't a NEET as of right now, I can't talk seriously to her without picturing the annoying Ramiris from our Timeline. But the annoying one was atleast easy to talk to. For some reason, I can't concentrate when I talk to her. Should I forcefully turn her into the Fairy Queen?'

"Say Rimuru, all three of us consider ourselves strong, but none of us could've absorbed this dense megicules and come out unscathed. And you say you managed to do this by just training 100 years in the mountains?"

'Ugh, how should I respond? I should've just told them that it's a secret I don't want to reveal, like Ciel proposed. I can't say that I time traveled just to become an ancient demon lord.'

"It looks like he has secrets he doesn't want to share with us. Let it be. In the end he helped us and prevented a big disaster, it doesn't really matter who he is" said Velzard, who correctly read the mood and decided to help Rimuru.

'Velzard-san you're the best! I promise I'll help you get hooked up with Guy in this timeline, my saviour.'

"But there's one thing Iwant to ask either way. What were you doing in our castle? I saw you walking around. Even now, I can't feel neither an aura nor any megicules leaking from you."

"Huh what do you mean Guy-san? It's my first time here. Despite its look, it's pretty comfortable and warm in here."

"You.." Guy's eyebrows twitched, but he managed to calm down. He had an exasparated look on his face.

'Who is this guy? First your daughter and now this, are you playing a prank on me Veldanava?'

After changing location to the balcony, Velzard's favorite place after her bed, they decided to talk about more casual topics until Milim wakes up.

"I have to say Guy-san, these sweats are really good. I can't get enough of them"

"Oh don't fret it, nothing special. Glad you enjoy it."

Rimuru could see how Rain's eyebrows twitched for a moment, but she regained her compsure the moment after.

Meanwhile, Rain was having an inner crisis.

'PLEAS STOP! DON'T EAT EVERYTHING. Those were my backup stash, I wanted to eat them. Just wait, you thief, I'll find you!'

"By the way, Rimuru, what exactly are you? I don't think you're a human, but you don't seem to be a demon either. Are you a monster? I can't feel nothing from you."

"Ah I'm a monster, indeed. I'm a slime."

"Come on, you have so many secrets, you could at least tell us this much" said Velzard.

"No, really, I'm a slime."

"You should really come up with better excuses, Rimuru."

'Fine, even Ramiris doesn't belive me, am I really that untrustworthy?'

"No, that's no excuse or anything, look-"

After Rimuru transformed into his slime form, everyone was dumbfounded. Guy even fell from his chair. After dwelling for countless years at the end of time and space, like his human mimicry, his slime form also underwent some changes. He had now a diameter of more than 1.5 meter, but used his usual smaller form. His colour had changed from silverish-blue to golden. He looked as majestic as a slime could look. Diablo, after seeing this form for the first time, nearly fainted and afterwards praised him for hours until Rimuru had thrown him out. After showing them his form, Rimuru turned back into his human form and continued to eat his sweets. He wanted to ask for a refill for his tea but realized, that Rain and Mizery were nowhere to be found. Before Guy, Ramiris or Velzard could regain their composure, a big explosion was heard and Rain was sent flying to the balcony. Rimuru, as a reflex, caught her and tried to find the culprit for this attack. Guy and Velzard for some reason were pretty relaxed and casually talked.

"They're pretty late, right?"

"Yes, I was wondering when they would arrive"

Rimuru, not knowing who they're talking about, felt a familiar presence and realized who they're talking about. Flying above them was a red eastern dragon, a familiar one in addition. And flying next to her was a blonde young man who had a smug expression on his face as a result of his big entrance.

"Guy, I hope you're not too exhausted from your fight against Milim. I wouldn't want you to use that as an excuse for your loss"

These two newly arrived figures were none other than the real Rudra and Velgrynd.

'I should've left when I had the chance' were the only thoughts Rimuru had.
