Fire of Mechanism

To Kou, it had all happened just moments ago.

「Me and Unit 5 can’t use the Eternal Fire? Why not?」

「It’s a long story, so I’ll keep it short. I’ll explain later, but just assume you can’t use it for now.」

Asia delivered the news apologetically. There simply wasn’t enough time to explain the full tale of Hephaestion.

「Can’t be helped. If we can’t use it, we’ll just have to improvise without it.」

「I love people who come up with clever workarounds like that!」

Phrygia’s eyes sparkled with delight.

「All we have at our disposal is this Gordias tank control core and Unit 5. Plus the Britannion. ―That’ll do. I’ll use the Gordias’ computational capacity to collaborate with the MCS and forge a new flame.」

「Wait, what?」

「Prometheus’s fire is Hephaestus’s fire, but it’s Athena’s fire too. Which means I have the authority to improve upon it.」

「A power unique to Phrygia’s Athena, huh?」
