Explosive Detonation Drive Test

「Ahem. As an example, I’ve configured Unit 5 to handle the new system. Its base acceleration hasn’t actually increased. What you’ll see here is a reproduction based on the records of its battle against Castor’s Corvus.」

Phrygia turned her gaze to Kou.

「Unit 5, especially in its High-Mobility configuration, has a very straightforward concept. Close the distance against foes outside effective range—and cut them down. Kou himself acknowledges it’s a straight-line sprinter, an acceleration-obsessed machine.」

「Phrygia, aren’t you being a little harsh on me?」

「Just your imagination.」

Phrygia dismissed him with an innocent smile.

「Now then, we conducted the explosive detonation drive test. Please watch the footage. First, the conventional machine—no variable thrust augmenter in play.」

The massive monitor lit up with test footage.

Unit 5 stood still at the starting point. The target: an iron rod of Silhouette size, reinforced with Whis.

「Target distance: about four kilometers. That’s tank maximum range, and considered long-range even for Silhouettes.」
